Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base

Ellington Airport (IATA: EFD, ICAO: KEFD, FAA LID: EFD) is a public and military use airport in Harris County, Texas, United States. It is owned by the City of Houston's department of aviation, Houston Airport System and located 15 nmi (17 mi; 28 km) southeast of downtown Houston. Formerly known as Ellington Field, then Ellington Air Force Base, then again as Ellington Field it is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation reliever airport. The airport does not have scheduled commercial passenger service. However, Continental Airlines used to operate daily regional services between Ellington and Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport between 1990 and 2004. On 17 October 2018, the City of Houston approved Phase 1 of the Houston Spaceport project on the Ellington Airport site.

United States Coast Guard Air Station Houston is a United States Coast Guard Air Station located 15 miles (24 km) southeast of downtown Houston, Texas on board the Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base (JRB). Coast Guard Air Station (CGAS) Houston has provided an all-weather 24/7 Search & Rescue (SAR) coverage capability to the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast since 1963.

The Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL) is an astronaut training facility and neutral buoyancy pool operated by NASA and located at the Sonny Carter Training Facility, near the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. The NBL's main feature is a large indoor pool of water, in which astronauts may perform simulated EVA tasks in preparation for upcoming missions. Trainees wear suits designed to provide neutral buoyancy to simulate the microgravity that astronauts experience during spaceflight.

The Lone Star Flight Museum, located in Houston, Texas, is an aerospace museum that displays more than 24 historically significant aircraft, and many artifacts related to the history of flight. Located at Ellington Airport, the museum is housed on about 100,000 ft2 (10,000 m2) of property, including its own airport ramp. The museum, formerly located in Galveston, moved to Houston to avoid a repeat of the devastation suffered during Hurricane Ike.

Grace Christian Academy (GCA) is a private K–12 Christian school located in Clear Lake City, Houston, Texas. The independent Christian school is located on a 20-acre (81,000 m2) facility, with one building and 106,000 usable square feet, in the Pineloch neighborhood in Clear Lake City. The Verne Cox Multipurpose Recreation Center is a recreation center located in Pasadena, Texas. The center provides recreational programs, events, and services for Pasadena's youth and adults with cognitive or physical disabilities. The Verne Cox Center is a division of the Parks & Recreation Department of the City of Pasadena. The 15,000-square-foot (1,400 m2) facility is fully accessible with a gymnasium, weight room, kitchen, two multipurpose activity rooms, bathrooms with showers and lockers, a swimming pool, and two wheelchair accessible softball fields. The facilities serve youths and adults with any type of physical, intellectual, or cognitive disabilities. An annual wheelchair tournament is held at the center for athletes in Pasadena. So too are a number of other sports tournaments for disabled people.

Pasadena Memorial High School (PMHS) is a secondary school located in Pasadena, Texas. The school serves grades 9 through 12 and is the second largest school in the Pasadena Independent School District. Bay Forest is a community located in the southeast corner of Houston, Texas in Houston's Bay Area. It is part of a family of neighborhoods collectively called Clear Lake City. It is a bedroom community made up almost entirely of single-family homes, parks, and other open areas. The community comprises 832 residences and is located on either side of El Dorado Boulevard between Space Center Boulevard and Horsepen Bayou. The Bay Forest Community Association was officially established with the filing of deed restrictions with Harris County on November 18, 1985.
