Queen Mary University of London Boat Club (QMULBC) is the rowing club of Queen Mary University of London. The club was founded in 1910. Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, although a faculty of Queen Mary, have their own boat club: St Bartholomew's and the London Hospitals' Boat Club. The two sides contest the Merger Cup annually. The club is affiliated to both BUCS and British Rowing.

Central was a railway station near the Royal Albert Dock and Beckton Park, in east London. It was served by the London & St. Katharine Docks Company and was located between Connaught Road and Manor Way stations, on the Gallions branch of the line. Central station was opened on 3 August 1880. It had few passenger services, which ceased in 1940 due to wartime bombing, while the goods line ceased operation with the closure of the Royal Docks. With the redevelopment of the Docklands area in the 1980s and 1990s, the line was replaced in 1994 by the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) extension to Beckton. No trace of Central station remains, although Beckton Park DLR station is currently situated on or very close to the site.

London City Airport (IATA: LCY, ICAO: EGLC) is a regional airport in London, England. It is located in the Royal Docks in the Borough of Newham, approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) east of the City of London and 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Canary Wharf. These are the twin centres of London's financial industry, which is a major user of the airport. The airport was developed by the engineering company Mowlem in 1986–87. In 2016 it was bought by a Canadian-led consortium of Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo), OMERS, the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan and Wren House Infrastructure Management of the Kuwait Investment Authority.London City Airport has a single 1,508-metre (4,948 ft) long runway, and a CAA Public Use Aerodrome Licence (Number P728) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers; this licence also allows training flights, but only for the purpose of training pilots to operate at this specific airport. Only multi-engine, fixed-wing aircraft up to Airbus A318 size with special aircraft and aircrew certification to fly 5.5° approaches are allowed to conduct operations at London City Airport. As of 2020, the airport is about 60 hectares (150 acres) in size.London City had over 4.5 million passenger movements in 2017. It is the fifth-busiest airport by passengers and aircraft movements serving the London area — after Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton — and was the 14th-busiest in the UK in 2017. In 2019, the airport handled over 5 million passengers.

Beckton Park DLR station is a station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) in the Docklands area of east London. The station is located by the north quay of the Royal Albert Dock. The station is opposite Beckton District South Park, which is open space leading to housing in South Beckton. The station is located on the DLR's Beckton branch, between Royal Albert and Cyprus stations. It is in Travelcard Zone 3 and is the most lightly used station on the DLR. A previous railway station called Central was located largely on the same site from 1880 to 1940, on the former line from Custom House to Gallions.

London City Airport is a light metro station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) Stratford-Woolwich and Bank-Woolwich Lines; serving London City Airport in East London. It opened on 2 December 2005. It was first located on what was initially King George V branch, and was, until the extension to Woolwich Arsenal was completed, the reason for this branch. It continues to be an important station on the DLR. Trains run westbound to Bank in the City of London, northbound to Stratford International and eastbound to Woolwich Arsenal. The station is in the London Borough of Newham and is located in Travelcard Zone 3.

King George V Dock is one of three docks in the Royal Docks of east London, now part of the redeveloped Docklands.

North Woolwich is an area in the London Borough of Newham in East London. It is located on the northern bank of the River Thames, across the river from Woolwich. It is connected to Woolwich by the Woolwich Ferry and Woolwich foot tunnel. Despite lying on the northern, Essex side of the Thames, the area was within the historic county of Kent. It was part of the parish of Woolwich in the Blackheath hundred and since 1965 has been in the London Borough of Newham. Its position within Kent was an arrangement most likely imposed in the aftermath of the Norman Conquest of England from 1066.

St John's Church, North Woolwich is a Church of England church in North Woolwich, east London. It also hosts a Roman Catholic congregation and so is sometimes known as St John with St Mary and St Edward, North Woolwich to include the dedications of this congregation's former churches.

The Port of London is that part of the River Thames in England lying between Teddington Lock and the defined boundary (since 1968, a line drawn from Foulness Point in Essex via Gunfleet Old Lighthouse to Warden Point in Kent) with the North Sea and including any associated docks. Once the largest port in the world, it was the United Kingdom's largest port as of 2020. Usage is largely governed by the Port of London Authority ("PLA"), a public trust established in 1908; while mainly responsible for coordination and enforcement of activities it also has some minor operations of its own.The port can handle cruise liners, roll-on roll-off ferries and cargo of all types at the larger facilities in its eastern extent. As with many similar historic European ports, such as Antwerp and Rotterdam, many activities have steadily moved downstream towards the open sea as ships have grown larger and the land upriver taken over for other uses.

Beckton District Park is a public park in Beckton in the London Borough of Newham. Together with King George V Park, it forms Beckton District Park and Newham City Farm, a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade II.The part of the park north of the Tollgate Road is sometimes marked on maps as Beckton District Park North, and the land east of Stanfeld Road as Beckton District Park South. The Capital Ring goes through the park and connects the North and South parts of the park via a footpath.

Kingsford Community School is a secondary school in Beckton in the London Borough of Newham, East London, England. It opened in September 2000, and educates full-time students from the ages of 11 to 16. The current headteacher is Joan Deslandes, who was appointed an OBE in 2017 in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for her services to education. Ofsted has described the school as "a harmonious community in which everyone lives and breathes the school’s values of aspiration, achievement and excellence."

The Tate Institute was a community facility established by Henry Tate in Silvertown in 1887.The building was established to create an apolitical and non-sectarian environment. The Institute closed in 1933 and the building was used as a local library until 1961. The institute was boarded up in 2011, but in April 2016 a group of artists took over the building establishing the "Craftory", to rehabilitate the building and create the “Silvertown ArtSpace” to provide a hub for a broad range of artistic and community activities.
