Gloversville is a city in the Mohawk Valley region of Upstate New York, United States. The most populous city in Fulton County, Gloversville was once the hub of the United States' glovemaking industry, with over two hundred manufacturers in Gloversville and the adjacent city of Johnstown. In 2020, Gloversville had a population of 15,131.

The Downtown Gloversville Historic District is a national historic district located in Gloversville, Fulton County, New York. It is roughly bounded by Spring, Prospect, West and East Fulton, North and South Main, and Elm Streets.The district contains 78 contributing buildings centered on the city's "four corners" formed at the intersection of Main and Fulton Streets, but also included properties on Church, Fremont, Spring and Prospect Streets. It encompasses the historic commercial district. Within the district boundaries, 79 percent of the buildings are commercial, eight percent religious, five percent residential, and the remaining service and educational. They range in age from pre-1850 to 1977, and are architecturally significant from pre-1850 to 1931. The majority were built 1870 to 1900, and include a variety of popular architectural styles, including Neoclassical, Renaissance Revival, Romanesque Revival, Second Empire, and Art Deco. The predominant commercial building style is Italianate and is a three-story brick structure with projecting, bracketed cornices and details.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The Gloversville Public Library, located at 58 East Fulton Street in Gloversville, Fulton County, New York, was constructed in 1904 with funds provided by the philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. It is one of 3,000 such Carnegie libraries constructed between 1885 and 1919, and one of 107 in New York State. Carnegie contributed $50,000 toward the cost to build. His name is inscribed on the building's entrance. The building is a two-story Beaux-Arts style building, designed by New York City architect Albert Randolph Ross. It consists of four parts: a domed entrance hall containing stairwells, a large central stack space, and two flanking wings that meet the central axis at a 45-degree angle.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 as the "Gloversville Free Library".Predecessors of the current Gloversville Public Library, which was incorporated as a school district public library in 2005, include the Gloversville Free Library – an association library from 1888 to 2005 – and the Levi Parsons Library of Gloversville and Kingsborough, a subscription library from 1880 to 1888. The Gloversville Public Library reopened on November 5, 2018 after undergoing the renovation of the historic library building

First United Methodist Church is a historic United Methodist church at 7 Elm Street at Bleecker Square in Gloversville, Fulton County, New York. It was designed by Horatio Nelson White in the Romanesque Revival style and was built from 1869 to 1870. The main block / sanctuary is a two-story red brick structure set on a cut stone foundation. It is flanked by a staged entrance / bell tower and two-story office wing. An addition was completed in 1909 and is a two-story, polygonal brick structure containing a chapel, Sunday School room and parish hall.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.In 2000 the First United Methodist Church sold this building to another church organization, but the building has been vacant since then.

The Glove Theatre is a historic theater located at 42 North Main Street in Gloversville, New York, that now houses regional theatrical shows. It opened in 1914 as an 800-seat theater to present live performances including vaudeville shows, orchestral concerts, and opera. It was designed in 1913 by Linn Kinne of Utica for Cady & Dartch. The marquee was added in 1939.After the theater's heyday in the 1950s, it presented films, and then closed in the 1970s. In 1995, a plan arose to tear the theater down to become a parking lot, but community action stopped this from happening, and volunteers have run the theater since then.

Gloversville Armory is a historic National Guard armory building located at 87 Washington Street in Gloversville, Fulton County, New York. It is a brick and red sandstone castle-like structure built from 1903 to 1904, designed to be reminiscent of medieval military structures in Europe. It was designed by State Architect George L. Heins in the Late Victorian style. The armory is used by the New York Army National Guard. It consists of a two-story administration building with an attached drill shed. The building features three engaged irregular towers; a five-story octagonal tower, two-story square tower with hipped roof, and two-story tower with crenelated parapet.The Gloversville Armory was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

The Gustav Levor House is a historic home located in Gloversville, Fulton County, New York. It was built in 1892 and is an irregularly massed, 2+1⁄2-story, frame, Queen Anne–style residence. It features complex massing, a polygonal wall bay, intersecting roofs and gables, and an engaged round corner tower with a conical roof.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Johnstown Colonial Cemetery is a historic cemetery and national historic district located at West Green and North Market Street in Johnstown, Fulton County, New York. The district contains one contributing site and two contributing structures.The cemetery was established in 1766, and the district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

The Battle of Johnstown was one of the last battles in the northern theatre of the American Revolutionary War, with approximately 1,400 engaged at Johnstown, New York on October 25, 1781. British regulars and militia, commanded by Major John Ross of the King's Royal Regiment of New York and Captain Walter Butler of Butler's Rangers, had raided the border area. Local American forces, led by Colonel Marinus Willett, blocked the British advance. As the British withdrew northwards Willett and his men marched to German Flatts to try to cut them off. The British managed to escape, but Walter Butler was killed.

Johnstown is a city in and the county seat of Fulton County in the U.S. state of New York. The city was named after its founder, Sir William Johnson, Superintendent of Indian Affairs in the Province of New York and a major general during the Seven Years' War in North America. It is located approximately 45 miles (72 km) northwest of Albany, about one-third of the way between Albany and the Finger Lakes region to the west, in the Mohawk Valley region, within the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. The city of Johnstown is mostly surrounded by the town of Johnstown, of which it was once a part when it was a village. Adjacent to Johnstown is the City of Gloversville. The two cities are together known as the "Glove Cities" due to their history of manufacturing gloves and other leather apparel. Gloversville and Johnstown together constituted the center of the American glove industry for 90 years until competition from other countries drove most of the manufacturers out of business. As of the 2010 Census, the city had population of 8,743.

St. John's Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church at 1 North Market Street in Johnstown, Fulton County, New York. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.It consists of a rectangular, gable roofed main block and an attached parish hall wing. The main block of the church was completed in 1837 and consists of tall random ashlar stone walls and engaged stone entrance / bell tower. It features Gothic details. Extensive renovations on the building took place in 1911. Located on the property is the grave of church founder and colonial leader Sir William Johnson, 1st Baronet (1715–1774). It is the second church on this site; the original church having burned in 1836.

The US Post Office-Johnstown is a historic post office building located at 14 North William Street in Johnstown, Fulton County, New York. It was designed and built in 1912–1913, and is one of a number of post offices in New York State designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department, James Knox Taylor. It was enlarged in 1965–1966. The original section is a five-by-seven-bay, 1-story limestone structure on a granite foundation in the Classical Revival style. The entrance portico features four Doric order columns supporting an entablature. The building also features semi-circular arched windows.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
