New Mexico State University (NMSU or NM State) is a public land-grant research university in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Founded in 1888, it is the state's oldest public institution of higher education and one of two flagship universities in New Mexico. NMSU has campuses in Alamogordo, Doña Ana County, and Grants, as well as research centers and programs in all 33 counties in the state.Initially established as Las Cruces College, NMSU was designated a land-grant college in 1889 and renamed New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts; it received its present name in 1960. NMSU offers over 180 degree programs, including 28 doctoral, 58 master's, and 96 baccalaureate programs. It had approximately 21,700 enrolled in Fall 2021, with a faculty-to-student ratio of roughly 1 to 16. New Mexico State's athletic teams, the Aggies, compete at the NCAA Division I level in Conference USA. NMSU is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity". It is particularly noted for its graduate programs in astrophysics, astronomy, education, engineering, business, and nursing. NMSU is the chief space grant college in New Mexico and leads one of 52 national consortia dedicated to space research.

Foster Hall is a historic building on the campus of New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. It was built in 1930 to add more classrooms on campus, and it was named for a former professor, Luther Foster, who served as NMSU's president from 1901 to 1908. The building was designed by Braunton & McGhee in the Spanish Colonial Revival and Baroque Revival architectural styles. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since May 16, 1989.

Pan American Center is a multi–purpose arena in Las Cruces, New Mexico, located on the campus of New Mexico State University. The arena has a current seating capacity of 12,515 people.The arena serves as home of the New Mexico State Aggies men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball teams. The arena hosted games of the NCAA men's basketball tournament in 1969 and 1972, as well as the 2007 and 2008 Western Athletic Conference men's and women's basketball tournaments and 2007, 2016, and 2021 WAC volleyball tournaments.

Presley Askew Field is a baseball venue located on the campus of New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. It is home to the New Mexico State Aggies baseball team, a member of the Division I Western Athletic Conference. The field is named after former Aggies baseball coach Presley Askew and has a capacity of 1,000 fans. Features of the field include a press box, public address system, bullpens and batting cages.Going into the 2015 season, the New Mexico State Aggies have a 619–366–1 record in 31 years of play for a .628 winning percentage.

Goddard Hall of New Mexico State University is a historic building in Las Cruces, New Mexico. It is located on S. Horseshoe between Espina and Sweet on the NMSU campus. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.It was built in 1913. It is a three-story masonry and stucco building with a bell tower. It has a hipped French Tile roof."Goddard Hall is a three story masonry and stucco building with a hipped French Tile roof and overhand supported by rafter extensions. The building has a bell tower that forms the entrance. Third level has arched windows formed by pilasters springing from the top of the ground floor. The windows are 1/1 double hung with retro-fitted solar shades. There are relief panels below the windows. There has been a large addition on the east side of the building (1936); however, the entrance on the west side of the building and the two ends of the building have been kept in original condition. Goddard Hall was built in 1913. The architect was Otto H. Thorman, and the historical and current use is as classrooms. The original building has a rectangular shape.""Goddard Hall is one of two buildings constructed in the California Mission Revival Style and one of four buildings on the New Mexico State University campus included in this nomination. Goddard Hall is significant because it is one of the original campus buildings built on the "Horseshoe" as part of Trost and Trost's campus plan from 1906. Although a "Spanish Renaissance" style was adopted by the Regent's, Trost and Trost used more of an "eclectic Mission Style" under their plan. In keeping with this style, Thorman used a more traditional California Mission Style when he designed Goddard Hall, including a bell tower. Since its construction in 1913, Goddard Hall has provided classroom space for NMSU students and faculty."

The Nason House, formerly the University President's House, is a historic house in Las Cruces, New Mexico, U.S. It was constructed as the official residence of the president of New Mexico State University. It was built on the NMSU campus in 1918. It was designed in the Prairie School architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since May 16, 1989.In 1980, a new residence was constructed for the University president, and this structure was refurbished to accommodate the Center for Latin American and Border Studies. In 1987, the building was renamed, dedicating it to Willoughby Nason, a university graduate student who died in 1979 before completing his thesis.

University Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in Doña Ana County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 4,192 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Las Cruces Metropolitan Statistical Area. The CDP is almost all of the area bounded by University Avenue, Interstate 10 and Interstate 25 and is thus very nearly coextensive with the Las Cruces campus of New Mexico State University.

The Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine at New Mexico State University is a private, for-profit medical school on the New Mexico State University campus in Las Cruces, New Mexico. It is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association's Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation and graduated its first class in May 2020.

Aggie Memorial Stadium is an outdoor football stadium in the southwestern United States, located on the campus of New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. It is the home field of the New Mexico State Aggies of Conference USA. Opened 46 years ago in 1978, the current seating capacity is 28,853. Its artificial turf playing field is aligned north-northwest to south-southeast at an elevation of 3,980 feet (1,215 m) above sea level. It is the former home of Aggies women's soccer.

The William Conroy Honors Center, at the New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico is a historic building which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1907 as a Young Men's Christian Association building. It was designed by architects Trost & Trost. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989 with the seemingly-odd name of Air Science; it then served as the Air Science building for NMSU. It is a three-story California Mission Revival-style masonry and stucco building with a French tile hipped roof. It has an arched entryway. It was built with a brick exterior but that was later plastered over. It was used first as a YMCA, and later taken over by NMSU and used as its Air Science building.It is located on the northeast corner of N. Horseshoe and Espina St., on the NMSU campus.The building was retrofitted with an elevator in 2001–02, in an addition creating a new East entrance to the building.It is listed as Building #35 in NMSU's inventory of buildings, as the William B. Conroy Honors Center, abbreviated WCHC, at 2745 South Espina St. The university also has an Air Test facility and a Wind Tunnel/Research building.

The Chile Pepper Institute at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico, is an international research-based and non-profit organization specializing in research, education and archiving information related to Capsicum or chile peppers. The institute was established in 1992 and is devoted to research and educating the world about chile peppers. Its research facility is named for Fabián García, a Mexican-American horticulturalist dubbed "the father of the U.S. chile pepper industry", who began standardizing varieties of chile pepper in 1888.

Doña Ana Community College is a public community college with several campuses in Doña Ana County, New Mexico. It was established in 1973 at the request of the Gadsden, Hatch, and Las Cruces school boards to provided vocational and technical education opportunities to the citizens of Doña Ana County. It is independently accredited by The Higher Learning Commission. The community college offers instruction leading to associate degrees and technical certificates and preparation for further academic work. It is a branch of New Mexico State University. Doña Ana Community College has six campuses, with three in Las Cruces, and one each in Anthony, Sunland Park, and Chaparral. Dual credit classes are also offered in conjunction with local high schools.As of 2017, the school had 10,644 credit students (including part-time) and 3,498 non-credit students.
