Skora is a river of Poland, a tributary of the Czarna Woda. Known in German as the Schnelle Deichsa, it flows through the Legnica and Złotoryja districts, with its source in the foothills of Kaczawskiego. Towns along the river include Pielgrzymkę, Wojcieszyn, Uniejowice, Zagrodno, Modlikowice, Jadwisin, Osetnicę, Konradówkę, Chojnów, Goliszów and Niedźwiedzice i Grzymalin. The Liegnitz Ritter-Akademie or knight academy was a school for the sons of the silesian aristocracy and landed gentry established in early 18th century, shortly after the signing of the Treaty of Altranstädt (1707). The school was erected in the Habsburg ruled town of Liegnitz, and at least in part was founded from money earlier collected by Duke George Rudolf of Liegnitz, who had planned school of this type in his Capital. It operated as a school until 1945 and then After World War II, in 1945–1992, the building served as one of the main Soviet quarters in people's Poland, specifically for the Northern Group of Forces.
