Azadi Square

The Azadi Tower (Persian: برج آزادی, Borj-e Āzādi; "Freedom Tower"), formerly known as the Shahyad Tower (برج شهیاد, Borj-e Šahyād; "Shah's Memorial Tower"), is a monument on Azadi Square in Tehran, Iran. It is one of the landmarks of Tehran, marking the west entrance to the city, and is part of the Azadi Cultural Complex, which also includes an underground museum. The tower is about 45 metres (148 ft) tall and is completely clad in cut marble. It was commissioned by Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran, to mark the 2,500-year celebration of the Persian Empire and completed in 1971. It also serves as the country's kilometre zero. After winning a competition, architect Hossein Amanat was tasked to design the tower. His ideas were based upon classical and post-classical Iranian architecture, popular influences on art in the 1960s following the White Revolution. Iran's increasing wealth sparked modernization programs and sent the art industry into a renaissance-like period.

Shademan Metro Station is a station on Tehran Metro Line 2 and Line 4. It is located in the junction of Azadi Street and Azarbayjan Street. It is between Navvab Metro Station and Sharif University Metro Station. Its name was changed from Azadi Station to Shademan Station as it is located on Shademan Jct. on Azadi Street to avoid confusion with Meydan-e Azadi Metro Station located at the famous Azadi Square.

The Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration of Iran or in brief GSI is a government agency responsible for conducting geological and mineral surveys throughout the country, collecting the results of activities carried out in this field, establishing coordination, preparing and publishing geological maps of Iran. It is a subdivision of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, which was established in 1962 in cooperation with United Nations.

Mehrabad Airport Terminal 4&6 Metro Station is a station in Tehran Metro Line 4's Mehrabad Branch, branching off from Bimeh Metro Station. It is located in Mehrabad Airport serving Terminal pairs 4 and 6. Terminals 4 and 6 have the following function: Terminals 4 and 6 handle departures (Terminal 4) and arrivals (Terminal 6) for airlines other than Iran Air, Iran Air Tours, Meraj Airlines, Qeshm Air, Ata Airlines, Kish Air, Chabahar Airlines and Zagros Airlines.

Sharif University of Technology (SUT; Persian: دانشگاه صنعتی شریف) is a public research university in Tehran, Iran. It is widely considered as the nation's most prestigious and leading institution for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. Established in 1966 under the reign of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, it was formerly named the Aryamehr University of Technology (Persian: دانشگاه صنعتی آریامهر, romanized: Dāneŝgāhe Sannatiye Āryāmehr) and for a short period after the 1979 revolution, the university was called Tehran University of Technology. Following the revolution, the university was named after Majid Sharif Vaghefi. Today, the university provides both undergraduate and graduate programs in 15 main departments. The student body consists of about 6,000 undergraduate students and 4,700 graduate students from all the 31 provinces of Iran. Funding for Sharif University is provided by the government and through private funding. Undergraduate admission to Sharif is limited to the top 800 of the 500,000 students who pass the national entrance examination administered annually by the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.In the 2013 Academic Ranking of World Universities Engineering/Technology and Computer Sciences rankings, SUT was ranked 5th in the Middle East. It is in the top 251–275 universities in the world and 37th in Asia in the 2014 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. In the 2014 Times Higher Education top 100 for newer universities (less than 50 years old), SUT ranked 1st in the Middle East, 6th in Asia, and 27th in the world.

The University of Applied Science and Technology (UAST) (Persian: دانشگاه جامع علمی - کاربردی Dāneshgah-e Jām'e Elmi Kārbordi) is a public university in Iran administrated by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. It was established in 1992 and has 1500 education centers in various Provinces of Iran. This university helps to increase skill level of employed personnel in various sectors of economic field and graduates of higher education and professional skills that are lacking in administrative. The University of Applied Science and Technology (UAST) is a type of higher education institution that focuses on providing students with practical, hands-on training in a specific field or industry. These universities typically offer programs in technical or vocational fields, such as engineering, computer science, or business, and may also have a stronger emphasis on research and development. UASTs are generally considered to be more career-focused than traditional universities, which may place more emphasis on theoretical knowledge and the liberal arts.

Mehrabad Airport Terminal 1&2 Metro Station is a station in Tehran Metro Line 4's Mehrabad Branch, branching off from Bimeh Metro Station. It is located in Mehrabad Airport serving Terminals 1 and 2. Terminals 1 and 2 have the following function: Terminal 1 is only used for departures of Kish Air and Zagros Airlines. Terminal 2 handles all flights of Iran Air, Iran Air Tours, Meraj Airlines, Qeshm Air and Ata Airlines and for arrivals of Kish Airlines and Zagros Airlines, but all the Jet bridges are only being used for Meraj Airlines. It also used for all cargo operations.

Bimeh Metro Station is a station in Tehran Metro Line 4. It is located on Lashgari Expressway next to Shahrak-e Bimeh. It is between Meydan-e Azadi Metro Station and Shahrak-e Ekbatan Metro Station. It is also the terminus of the Mehrabad Airport branch of the line, having a special distinct fleet of trains running along it.

Sharif University Metro Station is a station on Tehran Metro Line 2. It is located at the junction of Sohravard Street and Dr. Habibollah Street. It is near Yadegar-e-Emam Expressway and Sharif University of Technology. It is between Shademan Metro Station (formerly known as Azadi Station) and Tarasht Metro Station.

Tarasht Metro Station is a station in Tehran Metro Line 2. It is located in Shahid Golab Street. It is between Sharif University Metro Station and Sadeghieh (Tehran) Metro Station.In 2005, the radon concentration was measured in this station, and found to be 9 Bq/m3. The threshold permissible concentration is 148 Bq/m3.

Apadana Residential Society (Persian: شهرک آپادانا) is a planned residential society in the northwest of well known Azadi square in Tehran, Iran. It is located between Azadi Square and Ekbatan Complex.

Tehran (Sadeghiyeh) Metro Station is the junction of Tehran Metro Line 2 and Tehran Metro Line 5. It is located in Sadeghiye neighborhood near Mohammad Ali Jenah Expressway and Tehran-Karaj Freeway. It is the west end of Line 2 and the east end of Line 5. The next station in Line 2 is Tarasht Metro Station and the next station in Line 5 is Eram-e Sabz Metro Station. It also has a big parking lot and is considered as the most crowded Tehran metro station. It is currently the only above ground station on Tehran Metro Line 2.
