Moel y Gaer (Welsh for "bald hill of the fortress") is an Iron Age hillfort located on a summit at the southern end of Halkyn Mountain, overlooking the village of Rhosesmor, Flintshire, Wales. It is a well-preserved hillfort overlooking the Dee Estuary. Excavations in the early 1970s revealed a sequence of defensive structures made of timber and several phases of building work inside the ramparts.

Rhosesmor is a small village near Mold, Flintshire, in north-east Wales. The village lies near the parishes of Halkyn and Rhes-y-cae. The hamlet of Wern-y-Gaer is encompassed by the boundaries of the village. The hill fort site affords views across the Clwydian Hills to the west and the whole sweep of Wirral to the Sefton coastline and Liverpool and further east.

Halkyn Castle (Welsh: Castell Helygain) is a mansion house in the village of Halkyn, Flintshire, Wales. The house, with its associated stable block, is designated by Cadw as a Grade II* listed building.

Halkyn (Welsh: Helygain [heˈləgain]; Flintshire Welsh: Lygian [ˈləgjan]) is a village and community in Flintshire, north-east Wales and situated between Pentre Halkyn, Northop and Rhosesmor. At the 2001 Census the population of the community was 2,876, increasing slightly to 2,879 at the 2011 Census. Pentre Halkyn is in the community.

The Church of St Mary the Virgin, Halkyn is to the north of the village of Halkyn, Flintshire, Wales. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of St Asaph. The church is designated by Cadw as a Grade I listed building.

Cornist Hall is a large house 1 mile (1.6 km) west-southwest of the town of Flint, Flintshire, Wales. It was the birthplace in 1746 of Thomas Totty, an admiral who served under Lord Nelson. In about 1884 the industrialist Richard Muspratt commissioned the Chester architect John Douglas to re-model the house, but Muspratt died before this could be executed. It was later owned by members of the Summers family, who ran the ironworks business of John Summers and Sons in Shotton and who made extensive alterations to the house. In 1953 the ownership of the house passed to the Local Authority who modified the interior for catering purposes. The Napier family took it over in 1987 and developed it as a wedding and dining venue. The Hall was eventually converted into the local golf club's club-house. Despite the change of hands, Cornist Hall continued to cater for weddings up until its closure in 2012. Since its closure, Flint's local community have petitioned to save the building, in the hope that it will gain listed status and fall under the ownership of the local populace. In the past few years, since the closure of Cornist Hall, a number of local people have complained about the increase in anti-social behaviour and vandalism, suggesting that the former mansion is a magnet for such activities. The house is built in brick and stone in Jacobethan style.

Northop College in Flintshire, North Wales is jointly operated by Glyndwr University and Coleg Cambria. Formerly known as the Welsh College of Horticulture and Northop College, it became part of Coleg Cambria when Deeside College merged with Yale College, Wrexham in August 2013. Degree level courses at the college are run by Glyndwr University. Coleg Cambria consists of six campuses including Deeside, Yale Grove Park, Yale Bersham Road, Llysfasi, Northop and Wrexham Training. The encompassed college offers a wide range of courses from Further Education to HNC's and Foundation Degrees for full and part-time students, apprentices and part-time community learners. Coleg Cambria Northop also offers further and higher education courses and work-based learning studies, it also provides a variety of professional short courses and leisure programmes. Furthermore, the student numbers have increased in recent years, there are approximately 3,000 full-time and 10,000 part-time students. (The Independent, 2018) Coleg Cambria Northop College specialises in the following subjects: Animal Care / Management, Equine care / Management, Floristry and Horticulture studies.(National Land Based College, 2018)

Rhydymwyn F.C. is a football club from Rhydymwyn, Wales. They play in the North East Wales Football League in the tier five Championship Division. Their home ground is Dolfechlas Road.

Until 1974, Flintshire (Welsh: Sir y Fflint), also known as the County of Flint, was an administrative county in the north-east of Wales, later classed as one of the thirteen historic counties of Wales. Most of what was Flintshire was along the north-east coast of Wales, however the county was notable for having one of the few large county exclaves, the English Maelor (Maelor Saesneg), to survive the Counties (Detached Parts) Act 1844. The administrative county of Flint was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972 on 1 April 1974, and became part of the new administrative area of Clwyd. The exclaves became part of Wrexham Maelor district – other parts formed the districts of Alyn and Deeside, Delyn and Rhuddlan. A unitary authority, also named Flintshire, was formed in 1996 under the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994, consisting only of the Alyn and Deeside and Delyn districts – the Wrexham Maelor parts now form part of Wrexham County Borough, with the former Rhuddlan district forming the northernmost part of the current Denbighshire unitary authority.

Rhydymwyn railway station was a station in Rhydymwyn, Flintshire, Wales. The station was opened on 6 September 1869, closed to passengers on 30 April 1962 and closed completely on 4 May 1964. Today the station buildings are still extant although the track bed between the platforms has been infilled. Crossing gates can still be found in undergrowth.

Pentre Halkyn (Welsh: Pentre Helygain) is a small village in Flintshire, Wales. It is situated approximately two miles from Holywell, and is off Junction 32 of the A55 North Wales Expressway. It has a quarry, a small hotel, and a local shop. The village borders on the Halkyn Mountain Site of Special Scientific Interest and Special Area of Conservation.

Flint Mountain (Welsh: Mynydd-y-Fflint) is a small village seated in Flintshire, North Wales, approximately 12 miles west of the city of Chester, midway between Mold and Flint, and situated just off junction 33 of the A55 North Wales Expressway. Points of interest include the Coach and Horses pub, and recently developed football club Flint Mountain FC (now named Halkyn & Flint Mountain F.C.). In mid-2006, the population of Flint Mountain was 1,958.On clear days to the north and east, The Wirral can be seen.
