Woodbridge, Virginia

Marumsco was a census-designated place in Prince William County, Virginia. The population was estimated at 37,218 in 2013. The CDP consisted of the major portion of what was the Woodbridge CDP up to 2000, including the subdivisions of Marumsco Village, Marumsco Hills, Marumsco Acres and Marumsco Woods. The area was merged back into Woodbridge prior to the 2020 census, at which time the full Woodbridge CDP had a population of 44,668. The name "Marumsco" comes from an Algonquin word meaning "island rock." The area is part of a region historically known as "Linton Neck".

Linton Neck also known as Burbage's Neck is a peninsula in eastern Prince William County, Virginia bounded by the Occoquan River, Occoquan Bay (originally known as Linton Bay), and Neabsco Creek. It is named after the prominent Linton family of the colonial era. Historically farmlands, today the plantation is home to a number of communities including: Featherstone, Woodbridge, Marumsco, and Neabsco. Near the fall line of the Occoquan River at the very North of Linton Neck is the incorporated town of Occoquan, Virginia. At the very south of Linton Neck is the historic site of Rippon Lodge. Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Featherstone National Wildlife Refuge and Veterans Memorial Park take up the majority of Linton Neck's shoreline along the Potomac River. Major creeks of Linton Neck include: Catamount Creek, Farm Creek, Marumsco Creek, and Swan Point Creek as well as the Northern tributary of Neabsco Creek known as Cow Branch. To the north of Linton Neck is Mason Neck, the site of the historic plantation of Gunston Hall. To the south could be found the plantation of Leesylvania. Linton Neck Plantation was originally part of Hamilton Parish of the Episcopal Church in Stafford County, before the area was later added to the newly created Prince William County in 1731.

Featherstone is an unincorporated community in Prince William County, in the U.S. state of Virginia.

Woodbridge station is a train station in Woodbridge, Virginia. It serves Amtrak's Northeast Regional line and Virginia Railway Express's Fredericksburg Line. Woodbridge's Rippon station is also served by VRE. Woodbridge station is located at 1040 Express Way, on the opposite side of the tracks of the Jefferson Davis Highway (U.S. 1).

The Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge is a National Wildlife Refuge located where the Occoquan River meets the Potomac River in Woodbridge, Virginia, United States between Belmont Bay and Occoquan Bay. The 644-acre (2.61 km2) site, about half of which is wetlands, was a popular tourist spot known as Dawson Beach until the 1940s, after which it was used for military research by the U.S. Army's Harry Diamond Laboratories from the 1960s to the 1990s. When the land was purchased from the military, it was temporarily called the Marumsco National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge was formally established and renamed in 1998, and is now managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service as part of the Potomac River National Wildlife Refuge Complex.

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center (SNVMC) is a 183-bed, not-for-profit community hospital serving Prince William County and its surrounding communities. Potomac Hospital, an independent, non-profit community hospital, merged with Sentara Healthcare in December 2009 and is now known as Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center (from April 16, 2012). The SNVMC market has experienced tremendous growth since the opening of the hospital in 1972.

Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center, also commonly referred to as Stonebridge PTC or simply Stonebridge, is a lifestyle center in Woodbridge, Virginia, United States. It features a mix of retail, office buildings, and apartments. was developed by Roadside Developments and construction beginning in 2007. Stonebridge is located along Interstate 95 just east of the freeway, with Opitz Boulevard (SR 2000) to the north, Dale Boulevard (SR 784) to the south, and Potomac Center Boulevard to the east. Continuous expansions to the center are made, with recent additions such as the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and Potomac Town Center condominiums.

Rippon station is a Virginia Railway Express station located at 15511 Farm Creek Drive in Woodbridge, Virginia. The station, one of two VRE stations in Woodbridge, is located at a southerly dead end, and is named for the closest and last intersection with Farm Creek Drive. It serves the Fredericksburg Line and shares the right-of-way with Amtrak's Northeast Regional, Silver Meteor, Silver Star, Palmetto, Auto Train, and Carolinian trains; however, no Amtrak trains stop here. Rippon station is located along the west side of the Featherstone National Wildlife Refuge.

Rippon Lodge is one of the oldest houses remaining in Prince William County, Virginia, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1971. Built around 1747 by Richard Blackburn (1705-1757) as the main residence and headquarters of his plantation, it lies on high ground overlooking Neabsco Creek at the south end of what is now the unincorporated town of Woodbridge at 15520 Blackburn Road. The house takes its name from Richard Blackburn's birthplace, the small city of Ripon in North Yorkshire, England.

Potomac Mills is a shopping mall located in Dale City, Virginia, in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. The first mall developed by the Mills Corporation, it was acquired in 2007 by Simon Property Group. Simon claims it to be the largest outlet mall in Virginia. It has also been claimed to be the top tourist attraction in Virginia, but the commonwealth tourism board ranked it as tenth in 2004.

Freedom High School is a public high school established in 2004. It is located in Woodbridge in unincorporated Prince William County, Virginia, United States, and is part of Prince William County Public Schools. The school is located on 15201 Neabsco Mills Road. In May 2007, Newsweek Magazine ranked Freedom 1148th in the nation on its annual list of "Best High Schools in America." Another Freedom High School is located in adjoining Loudoun County, Virginia which shares the same mascot and colors. Freedom High School is located at 38°37′17″N 77°17′15″W (38.621389° N, -77.2875° W). Freedom High School is home to a 9/11 memorial in the shape of a sundial. The Freedom Varsity Football Team won the VHSL 6A State Championship in the 2022-23 season, ranked 100 nationally.

The Fairfax Arms, also known as the Colchester Inn, is a historic inn and tavern located at Colchester, Fairfax County, Virginia. It was built in the mid-18th century, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, three-bay, brick building measuring approximately 25 feet by 32 feet. It features flanking exterior stone chimneys and a gable roof with dormers. Long privately owned, the house was purchased by the Fairfax County Park Authority in 2021.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
