Woodberry, Baltimore

WZFT (104.3 FM), known on-air as "Z104.3", is a gold-based Top 40/CHR radio station located in Baltimore, Maryland. It is currently owned and operated by iHeartMedia. Its studios are located at The Rotunda shopping center in Baltimore, and the transmitter is based atop Television Hill in the city's Woodberry district.

The Jones Falls is a 17.9-mile-long (28.8 km) stream in Maryland. It is impounded to create Lake Roland before running through the city of Baltimore and finally emptying into the Baltimore Inner Harbor. The Jones Falls valley has a long history in the city of Baltimore as a transportation corridor. The valley of the Jones Falls carries Falls Road (which is numbered as Maryland Route 25), the tracks for the Amtrak Northeast Corridor, the Jones Falls Expressway (JFX) of Interstate 83, and the Baltimore Light Rail. The Baltimore Penn Station also rests on an elevated platform in the valley. It also carries tracks for a historic rail line which is currently served by the Baltimore Streetcar Museum. The MTA Maryland Route 27 also provides transportation on Falls Road; however, at some point it was moved from following 36th Street south to other city streets. The Jones Falls is spanned by many bridges within Baltimore City's borders, and often the Jones Falls Expressway rests directly above the river.

WIYY (97.9 FM, "98 Rock") is a commercial radio station in Baltimore, Maryland. It is owned by Hearst Communications and broadcasts a mainstream rock radio format. WIYY shares studios and offices with sister stations WBAL (1090 AM) and WBAL-TV (channel 11) on Television Hill in the Woodberry section of Baltimore. WIYY's transmitter utilizes WBAL-TV's 'candlestick' antenna on the shared Television Hill candelabra tower. WIYY and WBAL are the flagship stations of the Baltimore Ravens radio network and the Baltimore Orioles Radio Network. The two are the only radio stations owned by the Hearst Corporation.

WWMX (106.5 FM), known on-air as Mix 106.5, is a commercial radio station in Baltimore, Maryland. It broadcasts a hot adult contemporary radio format and is owned by Audacy, Inc. The studios and offices are on Clarkview Road off Jones Falls Expressway. WWMX has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 10,500 watts. The station's transmitter is located on Television Hill in Baltimore. WWMX broadcasts using HD Radio technology; the HD2 digital subchannel airs an alternative rock format known as "New Arrivals", and the HD3 subchannel carries Entercom's Channel Q, aimed at the LGBTQ community.

WBAL-TV (channel 11) is a television station in Baltimore, Maryland, United States, affiliated with NBC. It is the flagship property of Hearst Television, which has owned the station since its inception, and is sister to the company's sole radio properties, WBAL (1090 AM) and WIYY (97.9 FM). The three outlets share studios and offices on Television Hill in the Woodberry section of Baltimore, near the transmission tower that WBAL-TV also shares with WIYY and several other Baltimore television and radio stations.

Poole and Hunt Company Buildings refers to a complex of buildings that once housed an ironworks— consisting of a foundry, machine shop, blacksmith shop, erecting shop, and other structures, which were located in the Woodberry section of northwest Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The buildings, made chiefly of brick and fieldstone, occupied portions of a 20-acre (81,000 m2 ) site. They were constructed beginning in 1853 and enlarged periodically as the business of manufacturing iron-based parts and machinery expanded. [Poole and Hunt refers to the partners Robert Poole (1818-1903) and German H. Hunt (1828-1907).] In 1973, although the buildings had been converted to other uses, they remained intact and that year were added to the National Register of Historic Places. In 1995, a major fire destroyed the machine shop, damaged parts of other buildings, and stopped further activity in the balance of the site. After 2000, real estate developers purchased the former industrial site and converted the buildings into commercial and residential uses. The complex is now known as Clipper Mill.

The Rev. Harold Ridley, S.J. Intercollegiate Athletic Complex is a multi-sport facility owned and operated by Loyola University Maryland. It is located 1.5 mi (2.4 km) west of the main campus in Baltimore, Maryland, on a 71 acres (28.7 ha) parcel of land at the southwest corner of the intersection of the Jones Falls Expressway and Coldspring Lane in the Woodberry neighborhood. At a total cost of US$62 million, it was the largest capital project in Loyola's history. Named after Rev. Harold Ridley, S.J. at the request of an anonymous donor whose $5 million contribution was the most from an individual to the university, the complex consists of a 6,000-seat stadium for Loyola Greyhounds men's and women's soccer and lacrosse, an additional field for its men's rugby union club and eight courts for men's and women's tennis.

Woodberry station is a Baltimore Light Rail station in the Woodberry neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The station has two side platforms serving two tracks. The station is near the former site of the Woodberry station of the Northern Central Railway, an affiliate of the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Brick Hill is a national historic district in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a small, isolated enclave neighborhood of 2- and 2+1⁄2-story masonry duplexes constructed about 1877 to house workers in the nearby Meadow Mill of the Woodberry Manufacturing Company. All but one of the eleven duplexes are constructed of brick, hence the four-acre enclave's traditional name; the other dwelling is built of stone. Two small two-story frame houses are also included in the district.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Londontown Manufacturing Company, Inc., also known as Meadow Mill, is a historic cotton mill complex located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a three-story, Italianate brick structure that features a square tower structure with a truncated spire-like roof having an open bell cupola. It was erected in 1877 as one of five mills which comprised the Woodberry Manufacturing Company. It was intended for the manufacture of seine twines. It was home to London Fog, prior to its move to Eldersburg, Maryland. Londontown Manufacturing Company, Inc. was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Medfield is a neighborhood located in north Baltimore, Maryland, United States of America. It is located to the north of the trendy Hampden neighborhood and south of affluent Roland Park neighborhood. Its unofficial boundaries are Coldspring Lane to the north; Jones Falls Expressway (Interstate 83) to the west; Falls Road/Hickory Avenue to the east; and West 41st Street to the south.

Cold Spring Lane station is a light rail station on the Baltimore Light Rail system. The stop is located on Cold Spring Lane near the interchange with Interstate 83. The station has two side platforms serving two tracks. The Cold Spring Lane stop is in close proximity to the former Melvale station of the Northern Central Railway, an affiliate of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
