Plain City, Utah

The William D. Skeen House is a historic house in Plain City, Utah. It was built in 1862 for William D. Skeen, a Pennsylvania-born pioneer who converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1850. Skeen had two wives: his first wife, Caroline, was an immigrant from England, while his second wife, Mary Davis, was an immigrant from Wales. The house was built with the help of two other Mormon pioneers: William Sharp, the stonemason, and Thomas Singleton, a carpenter. The house was purchased in 1868 by Ebenezer C. Richardson, who lived here with his four wives and 12 children. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since August 9, 1982.The house is unusual for its saltbox form. It has one large room on its second story, above the front rooms of the first floor. Extending back from the roof ridge in one long sweep is a shed roof of the New England "saltbox" type. The house is one of only four in Utah having that roof shape. The others are the Joseph Beesley house in Provo (which has been significantly modified), the Lauritz Smith House in Draper (NRHP-listed), and the Hampton's Ford Stage Station in Collinston (NRHP-listed).

Fremont High School is a public high school located on 1900 North 4700 West in Plain City, Utah that serves the residents of rural Weber County. This school opened in the fall of 1994. The current principal is Alicia Mitchell. The school was named after the explorer John C. Frémont.

Marriott-Slaterville is a city in Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,701 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Ogden–Clearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city was incorporated in July 1999, in a merger of the previously unincorporated communities of Marriott and Slaterville.

South Willard is a census-designated place (CDP) in Box Elder County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,571 at the 2010 census.

Pleasant View is a commuter rail station in Pleasant View, Utah, formerly served by the FrontRunner, Utah Transit Authority's (UTA) commuter rail train that operates along the Wasatch Front with service from Ogden in central Weber County through Davis County, Salt Lake City, and Salt Lake County to Provo in central Utah County. UTA announced that FrontRunner service to and from the Pleasant View station was to be suspended indefinitely with the schedule valid from August 12, 2018. As trains to Pleasant View station only operated Monday to Friday, the last train operated August 10, 2018. The reason given for the suspension of service was the cost of implementing federally mandated positive train control for the section of track north of Ogden on which FrontRunner ran, but is owned by the Union Pacific Railroad (UP).

Taylor is an unincorporated community in western Weber County, Utah, United States, located approximately 3.5 miles (5.6 km) west of Ogden.The community is part of the Weber School District and children from this community attend Kanesville Elementary, Rocky Mountain Junior High, and Fremont High School.

Pleasant View is a city on the northern edge of Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 7,979 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Ogden–Clearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is a suburban community of Ogden.

The Golden Spike Arena is a 6,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Ogden, Utah. The arena hosts local concerts, trade shows and sporting events for the area. The Golden Spike Arena was the home to the Ogden Knights of the American Indoor Football Association. It is part of the Golden Spike Event Center sports and convention complex and includes 18,000 square feet (1,700 m2) of arena floor space as well as six concession stands and open-span construction. Other facilities include: The Auction Arena with 12,000 square feet (1,100 m2) of space and seating for 350. An exhibit hall with 21,000 square feet (2,000 m2) of space and two concession stands. A recreation hall with 20,000 square feet (2,000 m2) of space, enough for two basketball courts and three volleyball courts. A 6,000-seat outdoor stadium A A 2,500-seat race track. A 400-seat indoor arena with 29,610 square feet (2,751 m2) of space.All of the indoor venues can be used for conventions, trade shows and other events, while the outdoor stadium is used for rodeos, concerts, and other outdoor events.

Defense Depot Ogden was a U.S. military installation located in Ogden, Utah, United States. It encompassed 1,139 acres (5 km2) with its southwest corner located on 12th Street (1200 South) and Tomlinson Road (1200 West). Its eastern border is the old Utah Northern Railroad, now owned by the Union Pacific Railroad.

The Weber River ( WEE-bər) (Shoshone: Ho-o-pah) is a c. 125-mile (201 km) long river of northern Utah, United States. It begins in the northwest of the Uinta Mountains and empties into the Great Salt Lake. The Weber River was named for American fur trapper John Henry Weber.The Weber River rises in the northwest of the Uinta Mountains, at the foot of peaks including Bald Mountain, Notch Mountain, and Mount Watson. It passes by Oakley, and fills the reservoir of Rockport Lake, then turns north, receiving the flow of major tributaries Silver Creek at Wanship and Chalk Creek at Coalville. Coalville is also at the upper end of Echo Reservoir; Below the reservoir, the river passes Henefer, turns more westerly, and then passes Morgan, where it receives East Canyon Creek. Issuing out of the mountains at Uintah at the mouth of Weber Canyon, it turns north again where it is joined by the Ogden River west of Ogden. The combined stream meanders across mostly-flat land, entering mud flats near where it empties into the Great Salt Lake, contributing about 25 percent of the total water entering the lake.Among the fish to be found in the river are brook, brown, Bonneville cutthroat and stocked rainbow trout, and mountain whitefish.The Weber has long been used for irrigation and is part of the United States Bureau of Reclamation's Weber Basin Project. Among the dams on the Weber are Wanship Dam on Rockport Reservoir (completed 1957) and Echo Dam (completed 1931). The watershed totals about 2,500 sq mi (6,500 km2). The Weber River is also home to a rare plant species Stephanomeria occultata, also known as Disguised or Hidden Wirelettuce, which is endemic to rocky slopes and margins along the corridor (B. Wellard & J.W. Baker 2018).
