Whitehaven is a Clinton family-owned mansion in Washington, D.C. used by Hillary Clinton when she is in residence in the capital. (The primary Clinton home is in Chappaqua, New York.) Built in 1951, the Georgian-style house is located near Washington's Embassy Row. Past residents have included Sir David Muirhead, Henry Brandon and Muffie Cabot.

Its 2009 property value is $31,308,480. There are about 10,000 visitors each year.

The Center for Hellenic Studies (CHS) is a research institute for classics located in Washington, D.C. at 3100 NW Whitehaven Street. It is affiliated with Harvard University. Nestled in Rock Creek Park behind Embassy Row, the Center for Hellenic Studies offers a variety of both residential and remote fellowships each year to scholars and researchers working on projects in a variety of fields, including "archaeology, art history, epigraphy, history, literary criticism, philology, philosophy, pedagogical applications, reception, and interdisciplinary studies". The center provides housing for "residential" fellows and their families, and accommodates remote fellows and visiting scholars during shorter stays. Fellows are selected by a panel of Senior Fellows, a group of five internationally selected senior classicists. Fellows are typically pre-tenured PhDs from around the world, most often from Europe or North America. The "Center", as it is commonly called, has been a stopping point in the careers of many budding classicists who have gone on to be major contributors in the field.

A portrait sculpture of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill by William M. McVey is installed outside the British Embassy in Washington, D.C., United States. It is constructed of cast bronze, in small percentage larger-than-life.

The Kahlil Gibran Memorial Garden is a public garden located at 3100 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W. Washington, D.C., "within a wooded ravine known as Woodland-Normanstone Park". At its center are a bronze sculpture of the Lebanese-American writer, poet and visual artist Kahlil Gibran by Gordon Kray and a star-shaped fountain surrounded by limestone benches engraved with quotes of Gibran. The memorial garden was dedicated on May 24, 1991, by President George H. W. Bush. The fundraising was organized by the Kahlil Gibran Centennial Foundation, formed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the poet's birth in Bsharri.

An outdoor sculpture of Nelson Mandela by Jean Doyle is installed outside the Embassy of South Africa, Washington, D.C., in the United States. The 9-foot (2.7 m) statue was unveiled on September 21, 2013.

Observatory Circle is a neighborhood in Northwest Washington, D.C., dominated by the circle of the same name — the grounds of the United States Naval Observatory and the official residence of the U.S. vice president. The neighborhood is bounded on the northeast by Massachusetts Avenue; on the south by Calvert Street, the Observatory Circle property, and Whitehaven Street; and on the west by 37th Street. The major thoroughfare of the neighborhood is Massachusetts Avenue, which in the area of Observatory Circle is mostly lined with embassies. Therefore, most of the area is commonly regarded as Embassy Row.

Observatory Circle is a street in Washington, D.C. It runs from Calvert Street to Massachusetts Avenue near 34th Street. Established in 1894, the street follows an incomplete loop, forming an arc rather than a circle. Number One Observatory Circle is the official residence of the Vice President of the United States. The inside of the arc formed by Observatory was blurred on Google Maps.

Woodland is a small residential and industrial neighborhood in Southeast Washington, D.C. Woodland lies in Washington's Ward 8, among the poorest and least developed of the city's wards. Like the neighborhoods around it, Woodland is almost exclusively African American. Woodland is bounded by Ainger Place SE to the north; Alabama Avenue SE and Knox Place SE to the east; Hartford Street SE to the south; and Langston Place SE, Raynolds Place SE, and Erie Street SE to the southwest. Fort Stanton Park forms the northwest and northern border of the neighborhood.
