Southwestern Adventist University is a private Adventist university in Keene, Texas. It is owned by the Southwestern Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The university enrolls about 800 students on a rural, 150-acre campus.The university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Adventist Accrediting Association. The nursing program is approved by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.

KJRN is owned by Southwestern Adventist University. The DJs consist of both full-time on-air talent and part-time university students. Studios are on the campus on North College Drive and the transmitter is a short distance away off North Old Betsy Road. The signal of the station covers much of Johnson County, part of southern Tarrant County, and can be heard in the southwestern section of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.

The city is named in honor of Patrick Cleburne, a Confederate general. Lake Pat Cleburne, the reservoir that provides water to the city and surrounding area, is also named after him.
