Arcadia was an unincorporated area in Galveston County, Texas, United States, which is now a neighborhood of the city of Santa Fe. It sits at an elevation of 30 feet (9 m).

Alta Loma, Texas (Spanish: alta—high, loma—ground), located in southwestern Galveston County, was an unincorporated area which became a part of the city of Santa Fe in 1978.

On May 18, 2018, a school shooting occurred at Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, Texas, United States, in the Houston metropolitan area. Ten people – eight students and two teachers – were fatally shot, and thirteen others were wounded. Dimitrios Pagourtzis, a 17-year-old student at the school, was taken into custody. The shooting is the eighth-deadliest high school shooting in the United States.

In addition to Santa Fe, its district serves parts of League City, La Marque, Hitchcock, and Dickinson.In 2018, the school became the scene of the third deadliest high school shooting in United States history when a 17 year old junior of the school killed 10 people - 8 students and 2 teachers- before being taken into custody.

Algoa is an unincorporated community in Galveston County, Texas, United States. The population was 125 according to the 2000 census. The 2010 census did not record the population of Algoa.

Naval Air Station Hitchcock was a Naval Air Station built by the United States Navy during World War II to accommodate lighter-than-air aircraft, more commonly known as blimps. It was located in the small town of Hitchcock, Texas, about fifteen miles (24 km) northwest of Galveston. Construction began in 1942 and the base was commissioned on May 22, 1943. The most prominent feature of the base was the 1,000-foot (300 m) long, 200-foot (61 m) tall largely wooden blimp hangar. The blimp hangar, which held six aircraft was built at a cost of $10 million. The purpose of the base and its aircraft was to search for Axis power submarines in the Gulf of Mexico. Beside the hangar there were auxiliary buildings including barracks, warehouses, a mess hall, gymnasium, auditorium and an Olympic-size swimming pool which was used to teach swimming and water-rescue. The base was sold as war surplus in 1949 for $143,777 to John W. Mecom Sr., who leased the building during the Korean War to remanufacture half-track vehicle and World War II tanks for use in the Korean War. Because of damage sustained from Hurricane Carla in 1961, the wooden parts of the hangar were demolished in 1962. The only parts of the hangar still standing are the four tall concrete corner supports and the concrete foundation. Camp Wallace, a U.S. Army World War II training center for antiaircraft units, was located adjacent to the base.

La Marque High School is a public high school in La Marque, Texas, United States in Greater Houston. The school, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Texas City Independent School District (TCISD); prior to July 1, 2016, the school district was a part of the La Marque Independent School District (LMISD). After TCISD annexed LMISD, the school remained open, and its athletic teams continued to be separate from those of Texas City High School.As the LMISD school zones were retained after the merger, the school serves sections of La Marque, half of Tiki Island, all of Bayou Vista, and portions of Texas City. It has a total enrollment of 1400.In February 2012, La Marque was reclassified as a University Interscholastic League 3A school, down from the 4A level.

The school serves most of Dickinson, all of San Leon, the majority of Bacliff, and portions of League City and Texas City.The school colors are blue and white with red trims.
