Lasana, Texas

Combes is a town in northern Cameron County, Texas, United States. Its population was 2,895 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Brownsville–Harlingen–Raymondville and the Matamoros–Brownsville metropolitan areas.

The Marine Military Academy is a private college preparatory academy located in Harlingen, Texas, US, offering a college preparatory curriculum for boys in grades 7–12 plus one year of post-graduate study. The school was founded in 1965. Its traditions and ideals are inspired by the United States Marine Corps (USMC), but the school is not affiliated with the USMC except through its Junior ROTC program. The academy is situated on the site of the former Harlingen Army Airfield, established in 1941. After closing, the field was re-opened in 1952 as the Harlingen Air Force Base which closed in the early 1960s. Since opening its doors as the Marine Military Academy most of the original buildings have been replaced with modern facilities. The adjacent runways became the Valley International Airport.

Harlingen Air Force Base, originally Harlingen Army Airfield, is a former United States Air Force (USAF) base in northeast Harlingen, Texas. After the base closed, the field was redeveloped into Valley International Airport.

Valley International Airport (VIA) (IATA: HRL, ICAO: KHRL, FAA LID: HRL) is owned by the City of Harlingen, in Cameron County, Texas, United States. It is operated by a nine-member airport board appointed by the mayor. HRL is centrally located in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) and is referred to as the "Gateway to South Padre Island" with travel amenities and door to door transportation to South Padre Island. With over 2,500 acres (1,000 ha) HRL is the largest airport in the RGV with room for future expansion. HRL has the longest runways in the area with modern aircraft approach systems that minimize chances of delays during bad weather. Current airlines are Southwest Airlines, United Airlines (via United Express), American Airlines (via American Eagle), Delta Air Lines (seasonally), Sun Country Airlines (seasonal service) and most recently Mexican air carrier VivaAerobús. Destinations served nonstop from the airport include Austin, Chicago (ORD), Dallas (both Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field), Denver, Houston (both Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Houston Hobby Airport), Las Vegas, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Monterrey, and Orlando. The airport is also a large air cargo port ranked in the top 80 airports in the United States and is served by FedEx and DHL wide body jet freighters. The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015 categorized it as a primary commercial service airport.

Harlingen High School is a public high school located in Harlingen, Texas, United States. It is part of the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District and was the first of five HCISD high schools established. HHS was the sole high school from its establishment in 1913 to 1993 when the school split and Harlingen High School South was formed. In 2015, the school was rated "Improvement Required" by the Texas Education Agency.

Harlingen Field (also known as Harlingen Municipal Stadium, Lon Hill Ballpark, or Giants Field) is a baseball park in Harlingen, Texas, that has been home to professional baseball, such as the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings and the Harlingen Giants, and high school baseball. It has undergone numerous expansions and renovations throughout its fifty-year history, most notably in the early 2000s.

Las Palmas-Juarez was a census-designated place (CDP) in Cameron County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,666 at the 2000 census. For the 2010 census the area was split into two CDPs, Las Palmas II and Juarez. The communities are part of the Brownsville–Harlingen Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Las Palmas II is a census-designated place (CDP) in Cameron County, in the U.S. state of Texas. (The "II" distinguishes the CDP from Las Palmas, a CDP in Zapata County, Texas.) The population was 1,605 at the 2010 census. Prior to the 2010 census the community was part of the Las Palmas-Juarez CDP. It is part of the Brownsville–Harlingen Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Valle Vista Mall is a regional shopping mall located in Harlingen, Texas, off Interstate 2 (Expressway 83) at the intersection of Dixieland Road and Tyler Avenue. It has 651,000 square feet (60,500 m2) of gross leasable area. It is anchored by Big Lots, Dillard's, Gold's Gym, J. C. Penney, Urban Air, and Rack Room Shoes with one vacant anchor last occupied by Sears. In 2017 Forever 21 closed its location for good, On October 15, 2018, it was announced that Sears would be closing as part of a plan to close 142 stores nationwide., in 2019 Urban Air Trampoline Park replaced the former Forever 21.
