The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District's mission is to collaborate with public and private partners to protect and improve land and water for current and future generations. The Minnehaha Creek in its name refers to the water link from Lake Minnetonka to the Mississippi River. The watershed is much bigger than a lake or creek, and includes 29 communities, and encompasses 178 square miles (460 km2). It stretches west from about Minnehaha Falls to Saint Bonifacius and north to Maple Plain. It includes 129 lakes and 8 major creeks in Hennepin and Carver counties. Some of the lakes in the district are: Bde Maka Ska, Harriet, Nokomis, Parley, Minnewashta and Katrina. Through collaborative planning, aligned investments, streamlined permitting, technical expertise and educating/engaging residents, the MCWD seeks to create a landscape of vibrant communities within the watershed. Established in 1967, the MCWD was created under the Minnesota Watershed District Act. The 1955 act charged watershed districts with integrating water management efforts among city, county and state agencies. Districts receive funding through local property taxes. The District's office is located in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Its leadership is made up of seven Board Members and a Citizen Advisory Committee.

Ridgedale Center, colloquially known as Ridgedale, is an enclosed shopping mall in Minnetonka, Minnesota, a western suburb of the Twin Cities. It is directly located off I-394/US 12 between Ridgedale Drive and Plymouth Road (Hennepin CSAH 61). Ridgedale Center comprises 1,105,337 square feet (100,000 m2) of leaseable retail space, and contains approximately 140 retail tenants. It is currently jointly owned by Brookfield Properties and CBRE Group, and managed by Brookfield. The anchor stores are JCPenney, Nordstrom, Macy's, and Dick's House of Sport. Built in 1974, it was originally anchored by Dayton's, Donaldson's, JCPenney, and Sears, before the first two anchors merged with other companies. The mall has undergone several expansions and renovations throughout the years, including the recent addition of a Nordstrom department store in 2015. Considered an "upscale shopping center", Ridgedale includes various luxury brands such as Coach New York, Swarovski, and TUMI.

Library service to the Hopkins, Minnesota community was established more than 100 years ago, when the library was housed in City Hall. The library moved to the historic Dow House in 1948 and then temporarily to a vacant restaurant in 1963. The library opened in its current location in 1968 and was renovated in 2002. The library joined Hennepin County Library in 1973.

Hopkins High School is a public high school located in Minnetonka, Minnesota, United States. Hopkins High School is part of the Hopkins School District 270.

The Hopkins Commercial Historic District covers 2.5 blocks of Main Street in downtown Hopkins, Minnesota. The district was significant regional destination for agricultural, industrial, and commercial activity. Areas around Hopkins historically produced many raspberries and local industrial activity eventually contributed to Minneapolis-Moline which manufactured industrial machinery. At the peak, 50 streetcars a day went down Main Street. Downtown Hopkins is about a five-minute walk away or .25 miles (0.40 km) from the future Downtown Hopkins station on the Southwest LRT. There are 32 contributing properties, 5 non-contributing properties and one non-contributing site. The district was listed on the National Register in January 2022. The nomination was done by the city of Hopkins and the Southwest LRT project office. A public celebration featuring Dean Phillips and Ilhan Omar was held in April 2022 to commemorate the district joining the National Register.

Adath Jeshurun Congregation (also Adath Jeshurun Synagogue) is a Conservative synagogue located in Minnetonka, Minnesota, in the United States, with about 1,200 members. Founded in 1884, it is a founding member of the United Synagogue of America, a founding member of the Women's League for Conservative Judaism, and "the oldest affiliate of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism west of Chicago.

B'nai Emet Synagogue was a Conservative synagogue located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. The synagogue had its origins in a number of earlier synagogues and congregations that merged in the course of a century, so that the earliest roots of B'nai Emet can be traced back from 1889 until it moved to its final location in 1956. It was used as a location for the Coen brothers' 2009 film A Serious Man. The congregation merged with Minnetonka's Adath Jeshurun Congregation in 2011, and put its building up for sale.

Downtown Hopkins station is under construction light rail station in Hopkins, Minnesota on the Southwest LRT extension of the Green Line. The station, one of three located in Hopkins, is located just adjacent to Excelsior Blvd or Hennepin County Road 3. Downtown Hopkins is about a five-minute walk away or .25 miles (0.40 km). The station will include a public plaza, connections to Cedar Lake Trail, and an adjacent bus stop. The city of Hopkins plans to encourage transit supportive development nearby including 4-5 story residential buildings. The city of Hopkins, SuperValu, and a Honda dealership are major employers nearby. Although opening of the project was years away, the light rail line helped attract development including a $50 million apartment building close the Downtown Hopkins station. The American Planning Association named The Artery, a street connecting the station to downtown Hopkins as a "Great Street" in 2019. The Artery covers a two block portion of Eighth Avenue. A trial in 2015 added art and a two-way bike lane with the final design opening in 2018. Funding for the $5.5 million project was provided by Hennepin County, Three Rivers Park District, and the Metropolitan Council via a transit-oriented development grant. The Metropolitan Council helped support The Artery project with grants. It also helped fund a nearby apartment building that will have a park-and-ride for riders.

Hopkins is a suburban city in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States, located west of Minneapolis. The population was 19,079 at the 2020 census. The city is four square miles in size and is surrounded by the larger suburban communities of Minnetonka, Saint Louis Park, and Edina. The city's main street was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2022.

Eagle Ridge Academy is a charter school with a philosophical emphasis on the classical education movement that serves grades Kindergarten through twelve. It is located in the southern part of Minnetonka, MN (close to Eden Prairie, Minnesota) having moved from another location in 2016. The Kindergarten through eighth grade curriculum follows the Core Knowledge Sequence published by the Core Knowledge Foundation and the high school follows a "Classical framework" to structure its humane letters program.

Glen Lake Sanatorium, a tuberculosis treatment center serving Hennepin County in Minnesota, opened on January 4, 1916, with a capacity of 50 patients, and closed in 1976. In 1909, the Minnesota State Legislature had passed a bill authorizing the appointment of county sanatorium boards and appropriating money for the construction of county sanatoriums. Glen Lake Sanatorium was the fifth of fourteen county sanatoria that opened in Minnesota between 1912 and 1918. Glen Lake was the first U.S. tuberculosis sanatorium to be accredited by the American Medical Association.: 29 The sanatorium had its own post office, and the mailing address was Glen Lake Sanatorium, Oak Terrace, Minnesota, until the surrounding area was incorporated into the City of Minnetonka.
