Samuel Warden House is a historic home located at Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. The house was built in 1886, and is a three-story, square brick dwelling in the Second Empire style, with Queen Anne and Eastlake style details. It has a mansard roof clad in octagonal, fishscale slate with dormer windows.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

It enrolls 1200 students in grades 7-12. It is located off Pennsylvania Route 981. The high school was opened in 1964, and the junior high was added in 1975.

The 2020 Pennsylvania Turnpike crash occurred in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in icy conditions at around 3:40 am on January 5, 2020. It was sparked by a 52-passenger tour bus traveling downhill, which struck an embankment and flipped on its side, causing a chain-reaction crash of two UPS trucks, a FedEx truck, and at least one other vehicle. Five people were killed, at least 60 people were injured, and an 86-mile (138 km) stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike was shut down in both directions as the crash was being investigated.

Jacob's Creek Bridge (1801, demolished 1833) was the first iron-chain suspension bridge built in the United States. Designed by James Finley, a local judge and inventor, it spanned Jacob's Creek, just south of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. Nothing of the bridge is thought to remain, but an area on the north side of Jacob's Creek – where Route 819 (Mount Pleasant Road) crosses – is still called "Iron Bridge."

West Overton is located approximately 40 miles (64 km) southeast of Pittsburgh, in East Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States. It has long been known as the birthplace of Henry Clay Frick, the industrialist and art collector, and the original site of distillery of his great-grandfather Henry Overholt and grandfather Abraham Overholt, the namesake of Old Overholt rye whiskey.West Overton Village was established in 1800 by German Mennonites from Bucks County, who were led by Henry Overholt. Today it operates as a museum complex and is an example of a 19th-century rural industrial village. It is the only pre-American Civil War village still intact in Pennsylvania. The museum has undergone a complete renovation and will focus on the Overholt industries of whiskey distillation, grist milling and coal and coke operations. The museum was scheduled to reopen for tours in August 2012 with the Overholt Homestead to reopen in June 2013.
