Port Carbon is a borough of Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, United States, located two miles (3 km) northeast of Pottsville. It is in a coal-mining area. In the past, ironworks had been a feature of the borough. In 1900, 2,168 people lived here and, in 1910, 2,678. The population was 1,815 at the 2020 census.

Schuylkill Regional Medical Center is a non-profit affiliation between two community hospitals formerly known as Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and The Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic, both of which are located in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, United States. On August 1, 2008, Schuylkill Health became the new parent organization for both facilities and their related health systems. After the affiliation was formalized in 2008, Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center became known as the East Norwegian Street campus and Pottsville Hospital was renamed the South Jackson Street campus.Schuylkill Health System provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services and includes a regional network of off-site centers throughout Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania which specialize in family care, home health, outpatient surgery, MRI, and rehabilitation. Both the South Jackson Street and East Norwegian Street campuses are designated Level III Trauma centers by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation.On September 16, 2016, both campuses became part of Lehigh Valley Health Network.

Mount Carbon is a borough in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, United States, two miles south of Pottsville. It was formed from North Manheim Township in 1864. The population was 88 in the 2020 census. The borough is the smallest municipality in Schuylkill County.

The Henry Clay Monument is a public monument in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, United States. Work on the monument, which consists of a state of Henry Clay atop a Doric column, began in 1852, shortly after his death, and ended in 1855. As a politician in the early 19th century, Clay was an advocate for the American System of protective tariffs that helped Pottsville's anthracite industry, and upon his death in 1852, several prominent citizens in the city advocated for the erection of a monument in his honor. Work commenced with the laying of a cornerstone on July 26, 1852, and ended in June 1855, with the structure dedicated on July 4 (Independence Day) of that year. The column was designed by Frank Hewson and created by George Fissler, while the statue was designed by sculptor H. Wesche and cast at the Robert Wood & Company foundry in Philadelphia. Both these structures are made of cast iron and painted white.

WPAM (1450 AM) was a radio station licensed to Pottsville, Pennsylvania, United States. Studios and transmitter atop Lawton's Hill. Established in 1946, the station was owned by Curran Communications.On May 17, 2017, the Federal Communications Commission informed WPAM that, as the station had been silent since at least July 23, 2015, it was in the process of cancelling the station's license; the license was canceled on June 29, 2017.

Schuylkill Institute of Business and Technology was a private technical college located in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, United States. The school was founded in 1998, and was sold to MC Education, Inc. in 2000.In 2006, it was announced that SIBT would be closing at the end of the 2007 year.

The Pottsville Downtown Historic District is a national historic district located in Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Bordered roughly by Laurel Boulevard and Railroad, Morris and 4th streets, it encompasses 336 contributing buildings in the central business district and surrounding residential areas of the city of Pottsville.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

"Cloud Home" is a historic home located at Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. It is a 2+1⁄2-story fieldstone dwelling in the Greek Revival style. It features a pedimented portico supported by four Corinthian order columns. Surrounding the home are seven acres of landscaped grounds. Located on the property are a contributing large stone barn, stone smokehouse with matching necessary, and an octagonal stone building with subterranean vault. This building was used as John Bannans legal office. The home was built by John Bannan, a local attorney, and his wife Sarah Ridgeway Bannan. The property was deeded to the family in 1826 and the mansion was built in 1851–52. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.Currently the home is owned by Friendship House, an organization for housing at risk youth, and is used as a boys home.
