Otari-Wilton's Bush is a native botanic garden and forest reserve located in Wilton in Wellington, New Zealand. It is the only public botanic garden that is dedicated solely to the native plants of New Zealand.

Cardinal McKeefry School, originally Marist Brothers' Thorndon, is a Catholic primary and intermediate school for girls and boys catering from Year 1 to Year 8 (5 to 13 years old). The school traces its origins to the Marist Brothers' first school opened in New Zealand in 1876. The current school was opened in 1970 by Cardinal Peter McKeefry and named after him.

Radio Active is an alternative radio station broadcasting in Wellington, New Zealand. It broadcasts on 88.6FM (formerly 89 FM) as well as streaming online at www.radioactive.fm. It began as the student radio station for Victoria University of Wellington Students' Association (VUWSA) in 1976, broadcasting on the AM frequency with the call sign 2XA. The station was named Radio Active as a protest against the recent visit to Wellington of the American nuclear warship USS Truxton. The station began with only temporary licences to cover specific events such as Student Orientation, and each time it applied for a licence it faced opposition from established stations. Although it began as a student radio station, Radio Active was originally not permitted to broadcast any religious, political, trade union or controversial matter. On 22 February 1982 it became the first radio station in Wellington to commence broadcast on the newly available FM frequency. In August 1992 VUWSA decided that Radio Active could not make any more losses, and sold the station to radioactive ltd in the hope that the station could become financially viable. Radio Active commenced online broadcasting in 1997, being one of the first radio stations in New Zealand to do so. In 1998 Radio Active moved off the campus and downtown because the Student Association needed the space it occupied in the union building.Today radioactive.fm has a very strong presence and following throughout the capital. It has a very strong listenership of around 45,000 weekly plus a huge online audience via its website. With a highly talented pool of volunteer announcers, many of whom have been with the station for over fifteen years, Radio Active is renowned for the wide variety of interesting music that it plays.

Karori Cemetery is New Zealand's second largest cemetery, located in the Wellington suburb of Karori.

The Karori Crematorium and its adjacent chapel are located in Karori Cemetery in the Wellington suburb of Karori. The crematorium was the first such facility in New Zealand, and it opened in 1909. The Karori Crematorium and chapel are registered by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust as Category I heritage items, with registration number 1399.The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) erected a plaque commemorating 15 New Zealand services personnel of World War II who were cremated at the crematorium and their ashes scattered. It is set into the Services Columbarium Wall in the Services section of Karori Cemetery.

Northland School is a small state primary school in Northland, western Wellington, and was established in 1906. The school is situated at 14 Harbour View Road and is a decile ten school. Northland School caters for Years 1 through 8, and there are 4 teams, each made up of 2–3 year groups. Each team has 3–4 classes and the children change classes every year. The school has a Bring Your Own Device (or BYOD) system. In 2016 the school received funding to rebuild aging and leaky classrooms.

Crofton Downs is an inner suburb of Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. It is situated between Ngaio to the northeast Wilton to the south-west and Wadestown to the south. Its border runs on the Korimako Stream that flows south into the Kaiwharawhara Stream and then flows down the Ngaio Gorge into Wellington Harbour.

Northland is an affluent suburb in west-central Wellington, New Zealand. Not far from Victoria University it also includes low-priced accommodation popular with young students. It borders the suburbs of Highbury, Kelburn, Thorndon, Wilton, Wadestown and Karori. Northland is populated by a mix of university students, young professionals and families. Part of the area was known as Creswick until the late 19th century when new roads and building sites were developed by the landowner, C J Pharazyn, who marketed the whole area as Northland. At that time it was described in The Evening Post (now part of The Dominion Post) as "Wellington's best suburb".

The Korimako Stream is a stream in the North Island of New Zealand, located in the northern suburbs of the national capital, Wellington. It rises in Khandallah and Ngaio and is the Kaiwharawhara Stream's main tributary. The two meet in the lower reaches of the Kaiwharawhara River in parkland.

Wellington town belt and Outer green belt is a pair of strips of tree-filled wilderness spaces near and around central Wellington, New Zealand's capital city. The inner strip, the town belt, is an elongated U-shape. It was set aside by the city's founders in 1840. It is now about two-thirds of its original area. Portions have been repurposed for various mostly-public purposes, including Wellington Hospital, Victoria University of Wellington, Government House, Wellington Zoo, Wellington College, the Wellington Botanic Garden, and a range of other parks and recreational areas.

The Randell Cottage Writers' Residency is a literary residency in New Zealand. It is awarded annually to one New Zealand writer and one French writer, comprising six months' rent-free accommodation at Randell Cottage in Wellington and a stipend (as of 2021 set at NZ$27,450). The recipients are usually mid-career writers. The cottage itself is listed with Heritage New Zealand.

Alington House is a private house in Karori, Wellington, New Zealand. It is "an important New Zealand example of Modern Movement architecture."The house was designed by William Alington for his family while working for the New Zealand Government's Ministry of Works immediately after returning from his overseas experience.The Alington house was awarded an NZIA Wellington Branch Enduring Architecture award in 2002, and an NZIA (National) Enduring Architecture award in 2007.The building, is classified as a "Category I" ("places of 'special or outstanding historical or cultural heritage significance or value'") historic place by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.
