The Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church, is a Presbyterian church founded in 1740, and is the oldest Presbyterian congregation in the Valley of Virginia (the Shenandoah Valley). Its historic building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The church's first building was a log structure built during 1742–1748. Much of the cost of the original meeting house was underwritten by Colonel James Patton. It took nearly three years to finish, with some controversy between Patton and his uncle John Lewis over where it was to be located. The first service was held there on 14 April 1745, when the Reverend John Craig wrote: "This being the first day we meet at the contentious meeting-house, about half-built." The log structure was replaced by a stone building in 1790.: 81  Its 1850 Greek Revival building is its third building, and is significant architecturally for being designed by Robert Lewis Dabney who served as pastor there from 1852–1857. This Greek Revival building, along with two other churches designed by Dabney, is credited with influencing ecclesiastical architecture in Virginia. Dabney designed at least two other NRHP-listed churches, Briery Church, in Briery, Virginia, and New Providence Presbyterian Church, near Brownsburg, Virginia.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Sugar Loaf Farm is an early 19th-century cluster of agricultural, industrial, and residential buildings located in a bucolic setting approximately 7.5 miles southwest of Staunton, Virginia and 1/2 mile southeast of Sugar Loaf Mountain. As a member of the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, Sugar Loaf Farm maintains the only surviving brick grist mill in Augusta County, Virginia. The brick grist mill on the property combines the mechanical principles of Oliver Evans, a prominent mill designer of the late eighteenth century, with the engineering craftsmanship and building detail of molded brick cornices, a vernacular architecture in the upper Shenandoah Valley in the early 1800s. The Farm's three original buildings, the farmhouse, grist mill and miller's house, were all constructed by David Summer at a time when Augusta County had emerged as the center of one of the most dominant wheat-growing and flour-processing regions in the South. Sugar Loaf Farm serves as a valuable reminder of the wheat-based agriculture that persisted in this region well into the twentieth century. Today, Sugar Loaf Farm is a privately run farm that specializes in raising Black Angus cattle.

Fishersville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Augusta County, Virginia, United States. The population was 7,462 at the 2010 census, an increase of nearly fifty percent from the 4,998 reported in 2000. It is part of the Staunton–Waynesboro Micropolitan Statistical Area. Fishersville is also home to Barren Ridge Vineyards (on the Shenandoah Valley Wine Trail), winner of the 2009 Best in Show wine at the Virginia State Fair.

The Shenandoah Valley Governor's School is one of Virginia's 18 state-initiated magnet Governor's Schools. It is a part-time school where 11th and 12th grade students take advanced classes in the morning (receiving their remaining classes from their home high school).

Wilson Memorial High School is a public school located in Fishersville, Virginia. The school is named after the 28th President of the United States, Thomas Woodrow Wilson, who was born in nearby Staunton, Virginia. WMHS, home of the Green Hornets, is located in the Woodrow Wilson Complex, which consists of the Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center, Augusta County Public Schools Board offices, Valley Vocational Technical Center, Shenandoah Valley Governor's School, Wilson Elementary School, and Wilson Middle School.

Waynesboro Eagle's Nest Airport (FAA LID: W13) is a public-use airport located three miles (5 km) west of the central business district of Waynesboro, in Augusta County, Virginia, United States. It is privately owned by Michael L. Fogle.

Ladd is an unincorporated community in Augusta County, Virginia, United States. Ladd is located just outside the independent city of Waynesboro, Virginia and inside Augusta County. Founded in 1854, the only notable buildings of Ladd left as of 2005 are the Bethlehem Lutheran Church (built 1854), the General Store, and two homes dating to the early 1900s.

Stuarts Draft High School is in the community of Stuarts Draft in southeastern Augusta County, Virginia. The school opened in 1970 during a consolidation period for the county's public schools. Stuarts Draft High School originally served grades 8 through 12, and housed the 7th grade due to overcrowding at Stuarts Draft Elementary School (now Guy K. Stump Elementary School). Today, Stuart Draft High School serves 720 students in grades 9 to 12. A middle and elementary school have been built in proximity to Stuarts Draft High School, creating one of two school complexes in the county. Seven percent of the student body is African American and one percent is Hispanic. Eleven percent of the students receive special education services. Stuarts Draft High School performs respectably on standardized tests. The school maintains an 87% pass rate on SOL end-of-course tests; the mean SAT verbal and math score is 509 and 523 respectively. Sixty-three percent of Stuarts Draft seniors attend college; of that number, 35% go to four-year institutions.

The Waynesboro Outlet Village, later rebranded Waynesboro Village, was an outdoor outlet mall in Waynesboro, Virginia, as one of Waynesboro's first attempts to make the town a shopping destination. In its heyday, the facility housed factory outlet stores and in later years housed a combination of outlet stores and offices for nonprofit organizations. Between its 1987 opening and spring 2006 closing, retail tenants included Bannister Shoe, Bass Shoes, Bugle Boy, Capacity, Christmas Goose, Corning-Revere, Crafters Corner, Fannie Farmer, L'eggs-Hanes-Bali, Liz Claiborne, Petal Pushers, Sam's Factory Outlet, The Paper Factory, The Ribbon Outlet, Royal Dalton, Tile Visions, Virginia MetalCrafters, and Westport Ltd. Non-traditional tenants have included the Artisans Center of Virginia, Borg-Warner Services, Computer Redistribution Team, Dance Augusta, Northrop Grumman Information Technology and One Child at a Time (OCAT).

The Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents, formerly known as The DeJarnette Center for Human Development, is a children's mental hospital located in the city of Staunton, Virginia, in the United States. At its present location, the facility has four units which house up to 12 patients each. It is the only mental health facility for children and adolescents operated by the Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Substance Abuse Services in the state (with the exception of a few beds available at other mental health hospitals for adolescents).
