Little Lehigh Creek forms its natural southern boundary. While the village has its own box post office, with ZIP Code of 18046, surrounding areas use the Allentown ZIP Code of 18106 and the Macungie ZIP Code of 18062. The community was named after the state of Texas. The community's name was prefixed with "East" to avoid repetition with another Texas in the state. Day-Timer, the global manufacturer of calendars and organizational products, maintains one of its four U.S. operational and production offices in East Texas.

Steel First was a junior steel roller coaster located at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in South Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania. Manufactured by the Allan Herschell Company, the ride opened to the public in 1985. The coaster was originally located at Santa's Village in East Dundee, Illinois, where it was known as Snowball Express. It was removed in 1985 and placed in storage, until it was bought and moved to Dorney Park. Maximum rider height was 54".It was originally named the Colossus Junior & Little Laser, but its name was changed to Steel First for the 2009 season after the removal of another roller coaster at the park known as Laser. Steel First operated until the 2010 season and has since been removed.

The Valley Preferred Cycling Center (VPCC), also known as the Lehigh Valley Velodrome or simply T-Town, is a professional cycling center and a velodrome located in Breinigsville, Pennsylvania. It serves as the Lehigh Valley's main track cycling stadium. The velodrome is operated by Velodrome Fund, a non-profit organization. that promotes competitive cycling, youth fitness, and adult wellness activities for the Lehigh Valley. The velodrome hosted has hosted various cycling championships. VPCC is the home of the World Series of Bicycling. The Velodrome annually hosts the USA Cycling Elite Nationals qualifying event. The center also features a Cycling Hall of Fame. Over the past 40 years, the center introduced tens of thousands of people to cycling, producing over 140 national champions, seven world champions, and three Olympic medalists.
