The Lower Hack Lift is a lift bridge carrying the New Jersey Transit Morristown Line across the Hackensack River at mile 3.4, Jersey City, New Jersey. The massive 3-track lift span was built in 1927–28 by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad under the direction and design of John Alexander Low Waddell. The span was completed and opened October 2, 1928. In addition to the Morristown and Gladstone lines, Montclair-Boonton Line service and North Jersey Coast Line service (via the Waterfront Connection) also use Lower Hack to access Hoboken Terminal. According to US Coast Guard regulations, Lower Hack shall open upon signal with at least one hour notice to the bridge tender at Upper Hack Lift on the Main Line.

The Wittpenn Bridge is a vertical-lift bridge that carries New Jersey Route 7 over the Hackensack River connecting Kearny and Jersey City, New Jersey. It is named after H. Otto Wittpenn, a former mayor of Jersey City. The bridge has an annual average daily traffic (AADT) of nearly 50,000 vehicles, including about 2,000 trucks. In 2005, the bridge was raised to accommodate 80 boats passing underneath. The original span opened in 1930; a replacement opened in 2021.

Holy Name Cemetery is a Roman Catholic cemetery in Jersey City, New Jersey administered by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. It was established in 1866 and at the end of calendar year 2002 has accepted 264,984 burials. The cemetery parcel is 63 acres (250,000 m2) and all but 0.3 acres (1,200 m2) has been developed and sold for burials. It is an active cemetery providing services to Catholic families.

The Tonnele Circle is an intersection in Jersey City, New Jersey, United States. It is named after Tonnele ["TUN-uh-lee"] Avenue, the north–south road that runs through it.

India Square, also known as "Little India," is a commercial and restaurant district in the Journal Square and Marion Section neighborhoods of Jersey City, New Jersey. The area is home to the highest concentration of Indian Americans in the Western Hemisphere, and is a rapidly growing Indian New Yorker ethnic enclave within the New York Metropolitan Area. The neighborhood is centered on Newark Avenue, between Tonnele Avenue and JFK Boulevard, and is considered to be part of the larger Journal Square District. This area has been home to the largest outdoor Navratri festivities in New Jersey as well as several Hindu temples. This portion of Newark Avenue is lined with grocery stores including Patel Brothers and Subzi Mandi Cash & Carry, electronics vendors, video stores, clothing stores, and restaurants, and is one of the busiest pedestrian areas of this part of the city, often stopping traffic for hours. According to the 2000 census, there were nearly 13,000 Indians living in this two-block stretch in Jersey City, up from 3,000 in 1980, increasing commensurately between 2000 and 2010. As of the 2010 Census, over 27,000 Asian Indians accounted for 10.9% of Jersey City's population, the highest proportion of any major U.S. city. After dark, the businesses light flashing signs and the street crowds continue. An annual, color-filled spring Holi festival has taken place in Jersey City since 1992, centered upon India Square and attracting significant participation and international media attention. Although India Square continues to represent the heart of Little India in Jersey City, situated between Tonnele Avenue and John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Little India itself as of 2019 has been expanding further eastward along Newark Avenue, through Jersey City's Little Manila, to Summit Avenue and the Five Corners neighborhood.

Englewood Cliffs College was a women's college for Roman Catholic nuns and laypersons in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. It was founded in 1962 by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Newark originally as a sisters' college. It closed in 1974 because of financial problems.In 1975, the college campus became part of St. Peter's College (now St. Peter's University), a Jesuit higher education institution in nearby Jersey City.The school was founded in June 1962 as Archangel College, a junior formation college for Roman Catholic nuns. It was built on the site of the former Palisades Mountain House. Lay female students were first admitted in 1966 and the school's name was changed to Englewood Cliffs College. It became coeducational in 1969. In 1972, faculty members volunteered as instructors in New Jersey correctional institutions.The college's founding president was Sister Madeleine Crotty, CSJ. She was succeeded by Sister Redempta McConnell, who became acting president upon Sister Madeleine's resignation due to failing health. Sister Redempta previously served as president of San Isidro College, a high school in the Philippines, from 1953 to 1965.On January 19, 1974, the basketball team was defeated by Essex County College by a score of 210–67, a collegiate record losing margin of 143 points.

Hudson Generating Station was a power plant operated by PSEG Fossil LLC, a subsidiary of Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG). It was located in Jersey City in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. The site was in operation from 1906 to 2017, but as of 2011 only one unit was in operation at the facility – Unit 2, which ran primarily on coal to generate electricity and was also capable of burning natural gas as a secondary fuel. Unit 2 was also equipped with several back-end technology emission controls. The generating station was closed permanently by PSEG Power on June 1, 2017. The 241-acre site was sold to Chicago-based Hilco Redevelopment Partners in January 2019, which plans to repurpose the site as a state-of-the-art industrial park serving growing warehouse-distribution business in region.

The PATH Lift is a lift bridge carrying the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) rapid transit line across the Hackensack River between Kearny and Jersey City, New Jersey. It is used by PATH trains going to and from Newark.

Hudson County is the most densely populated county in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It lies west of the lower Hudson River, which was named for Henry Hudson, the sea captain who explored the area in 1609. Part of New Jersey's Gateway Region in the New York metropolitan area, the county's county seat and largest city is Jersey City, whose population as of the 2020 U.S. Census was 292,449. As of the 2020 United States Census, Hudson County was the fastest-growing county in New Jersey compared to 2010; the county reached total population of 724,854 as of 2020, representing an increase of 90,588 residents (14.3%) over the population of 634,266 counted in the 2010 U.S. Census, making Hudson the state's fourth-most populous county. Home to 15,693 residents per square mile (6,130/km2) in 2020, covering only 46.19 square miles of land, Hudson County is New Jersey's geographically smallest and most densely populated county as well. Its 2010 population in turn was an increase of 25,291 (4.2%) from the 2000 U.S. Census, when the county's population was established to be 608,975, Hudson County shares extensive mass transit connections with Manhattan, located across the Hudson River, as well as with most of Northern and Central New Jersey. The county is part of the North Jersey region.
