It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.The CDP is in southwestern Blair County, in the western part of Freedom Township. It sits at the base of the Allegheny Front in the valley of South Dry Run, an eastward-flowing tributary of the Frankstown Branch Juniata River. Pennsylvania Route 164 passes through the community, leading east 3 miles (5 km) to East Freedom and west 11 miles (18 km) over the Allegheny Front to Portage.

It is 1 mile (1.6 km) north of East Freedom, the same distance south of Newry, and 10 miles (16 km) south of Altoona.

Pennsylvania Route 36 passes through the center of the community, leading south 1 mile (1.6 km) to East Freedom and northeast 4 miles (6 km) to Hollidaysburg. Brooks Mill is on Halter Creek, just south of where it flows into the Frankstown Branch of the Juniata River. It is part of the Susquehanna River watershed.

It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.The CDP is in southern Blair County, in the eastern part of Freedom Township and the southern corner of Blair Township. It sits on both sides of Halter Creek, where the stream exits from a water gap between Short Mountain to the north and Dunning Mountain to the south. Halter Creek is a northwestward-flowing tributary of the Frankstown Branch Juniata River, part of the Susquehanna River watershed. McKee is bordered to the west by East Freedom. Woodbury Pike, carrying Pennsylvania Routes 36 and 164, passes through the center of McKee, leading northwest 1 mile (1.6 km) to Interstate 99 at Leamersville and southeast through the Halter Creek water gap 2 miles (3 km) to Roaring Spring.

Halter Creek is a 9.5-mile-long (15.3 km) tributary of the Frankstown Branch of the Juniata River in Bedford and Blair counties, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It originates at Bakers Summit in Bedford County east of Dunning Mountain. It flows northward through Roaring Spring, and then through McKee Gap between Dunning Mountain and Short Mountain. It flows into the Frankstown Branch south of Newry.

It is bordered to the northwest by the Morrisons Cove Branch of the former Pennsylvania Railroad and to the southeast by Reservoir Road, which leads south 0.6 miles (1.0 km) to McKee and northeast 6 miles (10 km) to Loop. Vicksburg sits at the western base of Short Mountain, a ridge which continues south of McKee as Dunning Mountain.

As of the 2010 census, the population was 672 residents.The town was named Foot of Ten because of its location at the foot of the tenth inclined plane of the Allegheny Portage Railroad.
