It is located in the Aljarafe, the comarca downstream of the Guadalquivir and west of Seville. It borders Albaida to the west, Gerena to the north, Salteras to the east, and Sanlúcar la Mayor and Villanueva del Ariscal to the south. After the establishment of the House of Olivares, it grew in size and influence, becoming an important urban center in the Aljarafe.

The Solnova Solar Power Station is a large CSP power station made up of five separate units of 50 MW each. The facility is part of the Solucar Complex, in Sanlúcar la Mayor, in Spain, the same area where the PS20 solar power tower is also located. With the commissioning of the third 50 MW unit, the Solnova-IV in August 2010, the power station ranks as one of the largest CSP power stations in the world. Solnova-I, Solnova-III, and Solnova-IV were commissioned in mid-2010 and are all rated at 50 MWe in installed capacity each. All five plants are built, owned and operated by Abengoa Solar, a Spanish solar power company. All five power stations, the three commissioned and two under development, will be utilizing parabolic troughs, a technology to use concentrated solar power. The three commissioned power stations are also equipped to support natural gas as its secondary fuel source for power generation.

It is at an altitude of 45 meters and is located 15 kilometers from Seville. In 2010 the municipality of Almensilla held the highest debt of all municipalities in Spain, reaching more than 800% of the declared yearly income.

Albaida del Aljarafe is a municipality in Seville. It had a population of approximately 3,084 people in 2013, up from 2,231 in 2005. It has architecture from the Roman and pre-Roman eras. Much of its industry is agricultural, with the main crop being olives. Member of the European Parliament Soledad Cabezón Ruiz was mayor of the municipality from 2003–2011.

It borders Olivares to the west, Gerena to the northwest, Guillena to the north, La Algaba to the northeast, Valencina to the east and Espartinas to the south. Known to the Romans as Paesula, its origins are ancient. It was historically part of the Comarca del Aljarafe, but now legally forms part of the Comarca Metropolitana de Sevilla.

Falling largely within the present day autonomous community of Andalucia, it included roughly the territory of the present-day provinces of Huelva, Seville, and Cádiz, the Antequera Depression in the present-day province of Málaga, and also some municipalities in the present-day autonomous communities of Extremadura in the province of Badajoz. Like the other kingdoms within Spain, the Kingdom of Seville was abolished by the 1833 territorial division of Spain.
