The Solnova Solar Power Station is a large CSP power station made up of five separate units of 50 MW each. The facility is part of the Solucar Complex, in Sanlúcar la Mayor, in Spain, the same area where the PS20 solar power tower is also located. With the commissioning of the third 50 MW unit, the Solnova-IV in August 2010, the power station ranks as one of the largest CSP power stations in the world. Solnova-I, Solnova-III, and Solnova-IV were commissioned in mid-2010 and are all rated at 50 MWe in installed capacity each. All five plants are built, owned and operated by Abengoa Solar, a Spanish solar power company. All five power stations, the three commissioned and two under development, will be utilizing parabolic troughs, a technology to use concentrated solar power. The three commissioned power stations are also equipped to support natural gas as its secondary fuel source for power generation.

It is a typical lateral depression of the type that forms amidst Alpine mountain ranges, similar to the valley of the Ebro, the Po River valley in Italy or the Upper Thracian Plain in Bulgaria.

The Sevilla Photovoltaic Power Plant was the largest low-concentrated CPV power plant in the world. The facility is located in the Solar Platform (Solucar Complex), a region dedicated to solar power developments, in Sanlúcar la Mayor, Spain. The plant utilizes 154 two-axis tracking units, consisting of 36 photovoltaic modules each. The entire plant covers an area of 295,000 m2 (3,180,000 sq ft), with a total PV surface area of 5,913 m2 (63,647 sq ft). The maximum electrical installed capacity tops at 1.2 MW, with a conversion efficiency of 12%. The plant generates 2.1 GWh annually.

The Kingdom of Seville (Spanish: Reino de Sevilla) was a territorial jurisdiction of the Crown of Castile since 1248 until Javier de Burgos' provincial division of Spain in 1833. This was a "kingdom" ("reino") in the second sense given by the Diccionario de la lengua española de la Real Academia Española: the Crown of Castile consisted of several such kingdoms. Like the other kingdoms within Spain, the Kingdom of Seville was abolished by the 1833 territorial division of Spain.

The PS10 Solar Power Plant (Spanish: Planta Solar 10), is the world's first commercial concentrating solar power tower operating near Seville, in Andalusia, Spain. The 11 megawatt (MW) solar power tower produces electricity with 624 large movable mirrors called heliostats. It took four years to build and so far has cost €35 million (US$46 million). PS10 produces about 23,400 megawatt-hours (MW·h) per year, for which it receives €271 (US$360) per MW·h under its power purchase agreement, equating to a revenue of €6.3 million per year.
