Staffanstorp Municipality

Staffanstorp is a locality and the seat of Staffanstorp Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 14,808 inhabitants in 2010. Staffanstorp is the largest Scanian settlement never to acquire town privileges before 1971, when they were abolished in Sweden.

Remains of an Iron Age building interpreted as the possible remains of a temple were excavated in Uppåkra, south of Lund in Scania, Sweden, from 2000–2004.The building was rebuilt six times on the same floor plan, on the site of an older (3rd century) longhouse, and was likely in existence during the 6th to 10th centuries. It measured 13 by 6,5 meters (33 ft x 16.5 ft) and had three doors. The central part was elevated and supported by four pillars. Lars Larsson (2007) argued that the find represents "the first Scandinavian building for which the term 'temple' can be justly claimed".

Uppåkra is a village and parish in Staffanstorp Municipality, in Scania, southern Sweden, located five kilometres south of Lund. The village is known for its Iron Age archaeological site, which has been actively excavated since 1996.

Hjärup (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈjɛ̌ːrɵp]) is, with its more than 4,250 inhabitants, the second largest locality in Staffanstorp Municipality, Scania, Sweden. Hjärup has a station on the Pågatågen system. The locality has a suburban character with semi-detached houses initially built in the 1960s–1970s on Lundaslätten, the fertile plain south of Lund, initially on land sold off from the farm Hjerup. Hjärup was until the 1990s confined in between the railway and the main road Malmö–Lund. On the other side of the railway, adjacent to Hjärup's station, a district called Jakriborg is now growing. Hjärup consists of about 1,600 households (2005) with public services chiefly limited to preschools, schools, health care center and old people's home, as virtually all inhabitants commute to work in the Greater Malmö metropolitan area. 400 of the dwellings are in the housing estate Jakriborg. The distance to Lund is 5 km by bike, bus or car — or 3 minutes by train. The distance to Malmö is about 15 km — or 10 minutes by train.

The St. Laurence Foundation (Laurentiistiftelsen) is an independent student hostel in Sweden for students at Lund University. The foundation belongs to the Catholic movement of the Church of Sweden. It was founded in 1938. Daily office is prayed and Mass celebrated in St. Laurence Church connected to the hostel. When K. G. Hammar became Bishop of Lund in 1992, he did not want to be responsible for the episcopal oversight of St. Laurence Foundation. St. Laurence Foundation then sought episcopal oversight from bishop emeritus Bertil Gärtner and after his death from bishop emeritus Biörn Fjärstedt. The current warden of the St. Laurence Foundation is Th.D. Carl-Johan Axskjöld. Societas Sancti Laurentii is a confraternity founded in 1957 by students living in the St. Laurence Foundation.

Mejeriet, or Kulturmejeriet (the dairy), is a cultural venue in Lund, Sweden, which opened in 1987. It originally started as a co-operative dairy in 1896 by the corner of Malmövägen and the Lund-Revinge-Harlösa railroad. The dairy itself closed in 1968. The venue has a full-service bar and restaurant, a cinema, a music school, 12 rehearsal rooms and two stages that since the inauguration has hosted concerts with music artists such as Jason Molina, Miles Davis, Bo Diddley, Bad Religion, NOFX, Ramones, Primal Scream, Sun Ra, George Clinton, Levellers, James, Alice in Chains, Massive Attack, Dead Prez, Miriam Makeba, The Stone Roses, Iggy Pop, Elvis Costello, Oasis, My Bloody Valentine, Dinosaur Jr., Sinéad O'Connor, Beach House, Johnossi, Rebecca & Fiona, The War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, The Sisters of Mercy, The Mission and many more. Mejeriet houses 675 people at maximum capacity.The venue is run as a non-profit organization and works as an umbrella organization for the other non-profit members which in turn is responsible for the events at the venue. Today, the venue arranges concerts, clubs, cinema viewings, exhibitions, and other cultural events. Mejeriet is a member of Trans Europe Halles, a European network of independent cultural centres.

The Church of the Holy Spirit (Swedish: Helgeandskyrkan) is a church located in the district of Klostergården, on the south-west side of Lund in Skåne, Sweden. It was opened in 1968 as a district church in the Diocese of Lund, but became the main church of the parish of Helgeand after it was formed in 1991. The functionalistic church has thick brick walls, a campanile and a pulpit on the exterior designed for outdoor services. It has 23 church bells, of which twenty form a chime of bells and three are located in the campanile. The architect behind the church was Sten Samuelson (1926-2002).
