Chiddingfold Forest

Plaistow ( PLAST-oh) is a village and civil parish in the north of the Chichester District of West Sussex, England. There is a village green, a recreation ground, a children's playground, a village pond, a shop, a pub (The Sun Inn) and the Anglican Church. There are over thirty Grade II listed buildings in the village. The Sun Inn was purchased by the Pullen family in 1807. Holy Trinity Church (a Chapel of Ease) was once a wooden structure which was destroyed by fire. The church was rebuilt in 1859. Plaistow and Kirdford Primary School was built in 1869. A plaque on the front of the school's original Victorian building acknowledges the significant funding from John Napper, Esquire of Ifold House, who then owned much of the land in the civil parish.The Parish lies on the northern boundary of West Sussex, and is made up of four settlements: Plaistow village and the hamlets of Ifold, Durfold Wood and Shillinglee. Ifold is the largest of the settlements and has the largest population in the Parish. It has a land area of 2102 hectares (5192 acres). In the 2001 census 1856 people lived in 701 households, of whom 910 were economically active. Plaistow village has its own football club, Plaistow FC, which formed in 1931 and was admitted to the Horsham and District League. They now play in the West Sussex Football League. The home ground is 'Foxfields'.

The Farm (also known as Fisher Lane Farm) was a recording studio in Chiddingfold, Surrey owned by the rock band Genesis. The group bought the property in 1980 and, after remodelling it into a studio, recorded every studio album there between Abacab (1981) and Calling All Stations (1997), in addition to production and mixing work, and solo projects from the individual members.

Dunsfold is a village in the borough of Waverley, Surrey, England, 8.7 miles (14.0 kilometres) south of Guildford. It lies in the Weald and reaches in the north the southern escarpment of the Greensand Ridge. It includes the Wey and Arun Canal, and just under half of Dunsfold Aerodrome, which is shared with Alfold.

Shillinglee is an 18th-century house and estate in West Sussex, England near the Surrey border, in between the villages of Chiddingfold and Plaistow. It is a Grade II* listed building.It was built in the 18th century and was home to the Earl Winterton who hosted cricket matches within the extensive parkland of the estate.

Pickhurst is a grade II* listed house set in 130 acres (53 ha) of land near Chiddingfold, Surrey, England.

Shillinglee Lake is a 17-hectare (42-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Plaistow in West Sussex.The lake has been designated an SSSI because it has four nationally uncommon plants. It is one of only ten locations in the country for Leersia oryzoides, a species of cut-grass. The other three are water mudwort, needle spikerush and six-stamen waterwort, all of which are found on mud when the water level is low.Footpaths skirt the lake at several points.

Ifold is a hamlet in West Sussex and part of the civil Parish of Plaistow, of which it is the largest settlement. Ifold is classified as a hamlet, because there is a Church, school or pub . Ifold has a settlement boundary and for decades has had new housing development. Ifold as it is today arose from historic Ifold Estate with its manor house, Ifold House built in 1802 on the site of an original and demolished in 1936. During WWII plots of land were sold, originally to people who used them to build holiday or weekend homes. Ifold has a community centre, Kelsey Hall. Originally a garage dating back to 1948, it has since been rebuilt and extended in the 1990s with the help of a lottery grant. The hall hosts a number of weekly user groups. There is also a Scout Association which has Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Brownies, Guides and Explorer Scouts. The Scout hut serves Ifold and the surrounding villages.

Fir Tree Copse is a 6-hectare (15-acre) nature reserve south-east of Dunsfold in Surrey. It is managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust and is part of the Chiddingfold Forest Site of Special Scientific InterestThis is oak and ash woodland, with hazel coppice. Pipistrelle bats have been recorded, together with birds such as the tawny owl and willow warbler. There are many species of fungi on rotting logs and invertebrates include the nationally scarce common fan-foot moth.There is access from Dunsfold Road.

The Top Gear test track is used by the BBC automotive television programme Top Gear. It is located at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey, United Kingdom. The track was designed by Lotus Cars as a testing facility, with many of its Formula One cars tested there. It is used to test both cars and drivers seen on the programme, mainly in Power Laps and Star in a ... Car. For the 23rd series of Top Gear the track was expanded with a rallycross section for the "Star in a Rallycross Car" segment, but it was abandoned at the end of series 23. In December 2016 planning permission was granted for 1,800 homes to be built on the current site of the aerodrome. As part of the redevelopment, it was proposed that the track (and associated aerodrome infrastructure such as the runway drag strip) was to be demolished.

Hascombe Hill or Hascombe Camp is the site of an Iron Age multivallate hill fort close to the village of Hascombe in Surrey, England.

Chiddingfold is a village and civil parish in the Weald in the Waverley district of Surrey, England. It lies on the A283 road between Milford and Petworth. The parish includes the hamlets of Ansteadbrook, High Street Green and Combe Common. Chiddingfold Forest, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, lies mostly within its boundaries.

St Teresa of Avila Church is a Roman Catholic Parish church in Chiddingfold, Surrey. It is situated on the corner of Petworth Road and Woodside Road in the centre of the village, next to the cricket green of Chiddingfold Cricket Club. It was built in 1959 and designed by Henry Bingham Towner. Although it is not a listed building, English Heritage stated, "The church makes an important contribution to the townscape of Chiddingfold," and that it of all the churches designed by Bingham Towner they stated, "we judge St Theresa of Avila to be the best of the churches we have seen."
