Lewisham College is a further education college in the London Borough of Lewisham, south-east London. It was established in 1990, having previously been known as SELTEC (South East London College of Technology) since the early 1970s, which was run by the Inner London Education Authority. The college has two campuses, its main one on Lewisham Way in Brockley, and another one in Church Street, Deptford.

Lewisham Road was a railway station in Lewisham, south-east London, opened in 1871 by the London, Chatham and Dover Railway (LCDR) on a branch line from Nunhead to Greenwich Park. It was situated on Loampit Hill, very close to the present-day St. Johns station. Although the branch line was intended to rival the South Eastern Railway's line through Greenwich it was probably the competition from this which contributed to the low use of the LCDR's branch, which closed in 1917 as a wartime economy measure. The line through the station was reopened for freight traffic in 1929 and passengers in 1935 to a new connecting spur via a flyover to Lewisham. The station building remains today as a salvage shop; the platforms have been removed but some structures remain at this level on the London-bound side. To the east of the station beyond the spur to Lewisham most traces of the branch have been removed and extensively built over, but a short stretch of embankment forms part of Brookmill Road Nature Reserve just to the north of the spur.An application to demolish the building and replace it with a three-storey mixed commercial/private residential development was rejected in 2019.

The St Johns train crash happened at 9 am on 21 March 1898 when, in thick fog, a passenger train waiting to enter St Johns Station on the South Eastern Railway, UK was run into by another passenger train. Three people were killed and about 20 injured in the accident, which was caused by a signalman's error.

Brookmill Road Local Nature Reserve is a small nature reserve in St Johns in the London Borough of Lewisham. It has been designated as a local nature reserve.The reserve is on a disused railway embankment between Brookmill Road and the Lewisham to St Johns railway line. The railway ceased operating in 1916 and the tracks were taken up in 1929. In 1979 Lewisham Council purchased the land and established a nature reserve on the site with the help of the local branch of the London Wildlife Trust.The existing vegetation was bramble, ivy and cow parsley, and species such as yellow archangel and wood anemone have since been planted. The reserve also has three small ponds and a stand of stag's-horn sumach.The entrance on Brookmill Road between Elverson Road and Albyn Road is kept locked and there is no public access.

Brookmill Park, formerly known as Ravensbourne Park, is a small public park and nature reserve in the London Borough of Lewisham. It runs parallel to Brookmill Road, Deptford and the River Ravensbourne. It is located between Deptford Bridge and Elverson Road on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR).

Deptford Cinema is a volunteer run, not-for-profit, community cinema, art gallery, and occasional music venue, formerly located at 39 Deptford Broadway in the Deptford district of the London Borough of Lewisham. At the time of opening in 2014 it was the borough's only functioning cinema. It has one downstairs screening room with roughly 40 seats, a mixture of traditional velvet movie theatre seating and sofas.

On the evening of 4 December 1957, two trains crashed in dense fog on the South Eastern Main Line near Lewisham in south-east London, causing the deaths of 90 people and injuring 173. An electric train to Hayes had stopped at a signal under the bridge, and the following steam train to Ramsgate crashed into it, destroying a carriage and causing the bridge to collapse onto the steam train. The bridge had to be completely removed; it was over a week before the lines under the bridge were reopened, and another month before the bridge was rebuilt and traffic allowed over it. The driver of the Ramsgate train was acquitted of manslaughter charges after two trials. The Ministry of Transport report found that he had failed to slow down after passing two caution signals, so he was unable to stop at the danger signal, concluding that the use of an Automatic Warning System would have prevented the collision.

Deptford Bridge is a Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station in Deptford, London in England. The station is elevated above both local roads and Deptford Creek, and is adjacent to Lewisham College and Deptford market.

Addey and Stanhope School is a voluntary-aided, co-educational secondary school, located in Lewisham, London, England. It is a former grammar school and sixth form, with origins dating to 1606. The headmistress is currently Miss Jan Shapiro.

The Miller General Hospital was a hospital in Greenwich, London from 1884 until 1974. It was developed adjacent to an earlier dispensary, and was the first British hospital designed with circular wards, and one of the first to have an X-ray department.
