Glenn Field

Home Park is a neighborhood of Atlanta in Georgia, US. It is bordered on the south by Georgia Tech, on the west by the railroad yards adjacent to Marietta Street and Brady Avenue, on the north by 16th Street at Atlantic Station, and on the east by Techwood Drive at I-75/85 (the Downtown Connector). The neighborhood is known as West Midtown Atlanta since it lies on the west side of the Downtown Connector. The residential district is bordered by Northside Drive, Techwood Drive, 10th Street, and 16th Street. This section is also home to the media organizations CBS Atlanta WGCL-TV, Georgia Public Broadcasting and Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. The commercial district is west of Northside Drive over to Marietta Street and Brady Avenue. It has retail and services, design firms, art galleries, restaurants and an expanding residential section along Howell Mill Road.

The National Monuments Foundation is a non-profit organization that builds monuments, including the World Athletes Monument and the Millennium Gate.

The Millennium Gate Museum (also known as The Gate) is a triumphal arch and Georgia history museum located in Atlanta, on 17th Street in the Atlantic Station district of Midtown. The monument celebrates peaceful accomplishment.

The Atlantic is a mixed-use residential skyscraper in the Atlantic Station neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. At 577 ft (176 m) tall, it is the thirteenth-tallest building in Atlanta. Located at the southeastern corner of 17th Street NW and State Street NW, The Atlantic is one of the core structures of the award-winning brownfield development.

Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) is a state network of PBS member television stations and NPR member radio stations serving the U.S. state of Georgia. It is operated by the Georgia Public Telecommunications Commission, an agency of the Georgia state government which holds the licenses for most of the PBS and NPR member stations licensed in the state. The broadcast signals of the nine television stations and 19 radio stations cover almost all of the state, as well as parts of Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. The network's headquarters and primary radio and television production facilities are located on 14th Street in Midtown Atlanta, just west of the Downtown Connector in the Home Park neighborhood. The facility and GPB are also a major part of Georgia's film and television industry, and in addition to commercial production occurring at the GPB facilities, some production companies also rent production offices from GPB.

Atlantic Station is a neighborhood on the northwestern edge of Midtown Atlanta, Georgia, United States comprising a retail district, office space, condominiums, townhomes and apartment buildings. First planned in the mid-1990s and officially opened in 2005, the neighborhood's 138 acres (558,000 m2) are located on the former brownfield site of the Atlantic Steel mill.

The Atlantic Steel Company was a steel company in Atlanta, Georgia with a large steel mill on the site of today's Atlantic Station multi-use complex. Atlantic Steel's history dated back to 1901 when it was founded as the Atlanta Hoop Company, with 120 employees, and which produced cotton bale ties and barrel hoops. It became the Atlanta Steel Company, and then in December 1915, the Atlantic Steel Company.From 1908-1922 Thomas K. Glenn was the company's president. A replica of his office exists at the Millennium Gate museum in Atlantic Station. By 1952, the plant had 2,100 employees and was producing not only hoops and ties, but also "poultry and field fence, barbed wire, angles, round bars, channels, tees, handrail, reinforcing bars, nails, rivets, welding rods, shackles, [forgings] and fence posts".The plant's "deep-throated" steam whistle was named "Mr. Tom", after Tom Glenn, an early president of the company.In 1979, the Ivaco company of Montreal, Quebec, Canada acquired Atlantic Steel. Operations were partially shut down in the 1980s as competition from home and abroad intensified. In 1997, of the 1,400 employees in 1979, there were only 400 remaining. In 1998, Jacoby Development purchased the complex for about 76 million USD, tore down the complex, cleaned up the site and built Atlantic Station in its place.

Patchwerk Recording Studios is a recording studio located at 1094 Hemphill Avenue, West Midtown in Atlanta, GA. It was established in 1993 by former NFL offensive tackle Bob Whitfield of the Atlanta Falcons, and is currently owned and operated by Curtis Daniel III and Mike Wilson. The facility features two totally isolated recording studios, namely Studio 995 and Studio 9000, along with Studio 1019, a vocal tracking and editing studio in the 9000 wing of the building. Apart from the facility's use as a recording studio, the premises are also used for audio mastering in the Mastering Studio, a Production Studio for beatmakers, as well as offering Paperwerk Registration, Video and Photography, and Graphic Design services.Outside of the studio, Patchwerk Recordings was functional as a record label from 1993 to 2006, releasing records from the likes of Ras Kass, Vooodu, Meen Green, Jatis and the Southwest Click. They have also hosted a number of events and musical seminars, including the IdOMusic® series and Music University.

The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is the nonprofit applied research arm of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. GTRI employs around 2,400 people, and is involved in approximately $600 million in research annually for more than 200 clients in industry and government. Initially known as the Engineering Experiment Station, (EES) the organization was proposed in 1929 by W. Harry Vaughan as an analog to the agricultural experiment stations; the Georgia General Assembly passed a law that year creating the organization on paper but did not allocate funds to start it. To boost the state's struggling economy in the midst of the Great Depression, funds were found, and the station was finally established with US$5,000 (equivalent to $90,000 in 2021) in April 1934. GTRI's research spans a variety of disciplines, including national defense, homeland security, public health, education, mobile and wireless technologies, and economic development. Major customers for GTRI research include United States Department of Defense agencies, the state of Georgia, non-defense federal agencies, and private industry. Overall, contracts and grants from Department of Defense agencies account for approximately 84% of GTRI's total research funding. Since it was established, GTRI has expanded its engineering focus to include science, economics, policy, and other areas that leverage GTRI's partnership with Georgia Tech. GTRI researchers are named on 76 active patents and 43 pending patents.

171 17th Street is a skyscraper located in the Midtown district of Atlanta, Georgia, United States, within the Atlantic Station mixed-use development. It has 22 stories of office space and was completed in 2004, when it was called the Southtrust Tower. 171 17th Street was the first skyscraper in Atlanta west of the Downtown Connector and north of 14th Street.

The Roger A. and Helen B. Krone Engineered Biosystems Building (EBB) is an interdisciplinary facility on the North side of the campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia. EBB is a hub for collaboration between researchers in the fields of Chemical Biology, Cell Therapies and Systems Biology, and it houses labs and offices for nearly 40 researchers. A notable occupant of the building is the Children's Pediatric Technology Center. A primary design requirement of the 218,880 square feet (20,335 m2) building was to foster interaction between two colleges of Georgia Tech: the College of Engineering and the College of Science. The building opened on 11 September 2015, with major funding for its development and construction provided by a gift from Roger Krone and his wife Helen Krone.
