Klützer Winkel

Schloss Bothmer is a Baroque palatial manor house ensemble in northern Germany. It was built for Count Hans Caspar von Bothmer to designs by architect Johann Friedrich Künnecke in 1726–32. It remained the property of the Bothmer family until 1945. It is today owned by the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and, following a renovation in 2009–15, open to the public. It is the largest Baroque-era country house ensemble in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Klütz (German pronunciation: [ˈklʏts]) is a town in the Nordwestmecklenburg district, in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. It is situated near the Baltic Sea coast, 22 km northwest of Wismar, and 33 km northeast of Lübeck. It is famous for the manor house Bothmer Castle, located just outside the village. In the centre of the village lies the medieval Brick Gothic village church, dedicated to Our Lady. There is also a centre of literature named after writer Uwe Johnson in the town. It is close to the cities of Lübeck, Wismar and Schwerin and is part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region.

The Pohnstorf Moor Nature Reserve (German: Naturschutzgebiet Pohnstorfer Moor) is a nature reserve in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It lies in the southwest of the Klützer Winkel ("Klütz Corner") in the district of Nordwestmecklenburg. The nature reserve has an area of 33 hectares and covers parts of the parishes of Roggenstorf (Gemarkung Grevenstein) and Damshagen (Gemarkungen Welzin and Pohnstorf) and was established on 27 June 2005 under the official number N 326. Its aim is the permanent protection, preservation and development of a biotope complex comprising partly wooded, alkaline fens (Kalkflachmooren), damp and wet meadows and hillocks of calcareous grassland. The region was previously extensively farmed, predominantly as cattle pasture and hay meadows, and is therefore especially rich in species that like damp and wet meadows, including endangered species of plants and animals and even those threatened by extinction.

Boltenhagen (German pronunciation: [bɔltn̩ˈhaːɡn̩] ) is a German seaside resort in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern situated on the Baltic Sea coast 30 km east of Lübeck. It has a wide view of the Bay of Lübeck; a 5 km stretch of a wide and sandy beach, a boardwalk, restaurants and health spas. Boltenhagen is considered to be part of the German Riviera. It is close to the cities of Lübeck, Wismar and Schwerin and is part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. Because of its location it is one of the most famous German seaside resorts at the Baltic Sea. Boltenhagen is especially popular with families for its shallow beaches and has a total of 24 beach sections. At each beach section tourists are able to rent a Strandkorb. A marina with fishing harbour connects to the resort at its easternmost end, offering hotels and private beaches overlooking the vast Wohlenberger Wiek, a shallow bay in between Boltenhagen and Wismar. West of the town and close to the seaside lies the picturesque little castle of Gross-Schwansee, recently refurbished and converted into a luxury hotel. South of it, Bothmer Mansion, a remarkable Tudor-style manor house in the nearby village of Klütz can be visited. Even historically Boltenhagen has been a popular holiday resort in Eastern Germany as being the second town, where bathing wagons have been placed. Today the town offers nearly 10.000 beds. The art historian Wilhelm Titel was born in Boltenhagen.

Stepenitztal is a municipality in the Nordwestmecklenburg district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It takes its name from the river Stepenitz. It was formed on 25 May 2014 by the merger of the former municipalities Börzow, Mallentin and Papenhusen.

It was the seat of the Nordwestmecklenburg district until 2011, when Wismar became the seat. It is situated 33 km east of Lübeck, and 29 km northwest of Schwerin. It is part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region.
