The Siniloan River (Tagalog: Ilog ng Siniloan), also known as the Romelo River, is a river system that runs through Siniloan, Laguna on the island of Luzon, in the Philippines. It is one of 21 tributaries of Laguna de Bay and is regularly monitored by the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) through one of its 15 river monitoring stations. The river's headwaters can be found in the Sierra Madre Mountain Range, particularly Mount Romelo for which the river is often alternately named. In this part of the river, a number of falls have become popular destinations amongst mountaineers, with a reputation for clear waters and a reasonably easy trek. The river then heads down into the coastal plains, going through the main population area of the municipality of Siniloan before finally emptying into Laguna de Bay. Throughout its watershed, from mountains to lowlands, the Siniloan is dominated by coconut and grasses. The mountain areas are also characterized by forests, while the lowlands are also characterized by rice paddies and residential areas. The Siniloan River sub-basin has a drainage area of 74.31 square kilometres (28.69 sq mi).

Paete, officially the Municipality of Paete (Tagalog: Bayan ng Paete), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Laguna, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 24,945 people.The town is located at the north-eastern part of Laguna. From Manila, Paete can be reaches passing through Rizal Province via Manila East Road or Via South Luzon Expressway. Along the shores of picturesque Laguna de Bay. It was founded in 1580 by Spanish friars Juan de Plasencia and Diego de Oropesa of the Franciscan Order. It is believed that the earliest inhabitants were of Malay lineage, coming all the way from Borneo in their swift and sturdy boats called "Balangay". Paete is 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from Santa Cruz and 102 kilometres (63 mi) from Manila.

According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 16,791 people, making it the least populated municipality in the province. Famy lies in the north-eastern part of the province of Laguna via Manila East Road. It has a total land area of 3.297 square miles (8.54 km2) which is bounded by the town of Real, Quezon, in the east, in the north by Santa Maria, in the west by Mabitac and Santa Maria, and in the south by Siniloan and Mabitac. It is 27 kilometres (17 mi) from the provincial capital, Santa Cruz and 114 kilometres (71 mi) from Manila via South Luzon Expressway crossing the capital town.

Saint James the Apostle Parish Church, commonly known as the Church of Paete, is the only Roman Catholic church in Paete, Laguna, Philippines. Its patron saint is James the Apostle and his feast is celebrated every July 25. It is under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of San Pablo. The church is known for its huge and exquisite collection of images depicting the Passion of Christ, its century-old paintings and wooden images of saints (or poon).

The Tatlong Krus (English: Three Crosses) are three crosses on the peak of mount Humarap, part of the mountain of Sierra Madre located in Paete, in the province of Laguna, along the northeastern coast of Luzon island in the Philippines. The Three Crosses started out with three wooden crosses and now are made of concrete.

The Nuestra Señora de Candelaria Parish Church informally known as Mabitac Church is a Roman Catholic church located above Calvary or Kalbaryo Hill in Mabitac, Laguna, Philippines. Its church is known for having a staircase of 126 steps, a panoramic view of the town of Sta. Maria and Laguna lake, and the festivity of the Three Kings every January 6, a re-enactment of the Magi's journey.
