Williamson, New York

Pultneyville is a hamlet (and census-designated place) located in the Town of Williamson, Wayne County, New York, United States. As of the 2020 census, Pultneyville had a population of 817. Pultneyville frames the mouth of Salmon Creek on the northern border of the town, and is situated on the southern shore of Lake Ontario. The hamlet was originally laid out in 1806, and it has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Once a significant Great Lakes trading port and the site of a War of 1812 skirmish, it now is a quiet, Western New York bedroom community. Nestled between fruit orchards and a Great Lake on the Seaway Trail, many of Pultneyville's activities focus on summer sailing and theatre. The hamlet boasts an active marina, and is home to the second-oldest little theater in the United States.

The district includes 35 properties containing 33 contributing primary structures and 18 contributing outbuildings. It encompasses the historic core of Pultneyville. Its earliest buildings are well crafted, modest to relatively sophisticated Federal and Greek Revival style dwellings built between about 1810 and 1850. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The primary cross roads where the hamlet is located are Ridge Road (CR 103), East Townline Road (CR 118) and Marion-East Williamson Road (CR 218). N.Y. Route 104 passes just north of East Williamson. A United States Post Office is located in East Williamson with a ZIP Code of 14449.

It is located three nautical miles (6 km) west of the central business district of Sodus, and east of Williamson. This airport is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a reliever airport. Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned SDC by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA, which assigned SDC to Sandcreek Airport in Guyana.

It is located at the site of the Brick Church Corners, a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.The district includes the North Ontario Methodist Church, the Pease-Micha Homestead, the Schoolhouse District No. 4, the Ruffell Log Cabin, and the site of a 19th-century sawmill and house.The museum includes several other buildings that have been moved to the site.

The Robert Emmett Ginna Nuclear Power Plant, commonly known as Ginna ( ghih-NAY), is a nuclear power plant located on the southern shore of Lake Ontario, in the town of Ontario, Wayne County, New York, United States, approximately 20 miles (32 km) east of Rochester, New York. It is a single unit Westinghouse 2-Loop pressurized water reactor, similar to those at Point Beach, Kewaunee, and Prairie Island. Having gone into commercial operation in 1970, Ginna became the second oldest nuclear power reactor, after Nine Mile unit 1, still in operation in the United States when the Oyster Creek power plant was permanently shut down on September 17, 2018.
