The J.Y. Dykman Flour and Feed Store is located on Main Street (NY 301) in Nelsonville, New York, United States. It is a brick building that today houses a small delicatessen and some apartments in its upper stories. It is the most ornate commercial building in the small village, and in 1982 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It is a 2+1⁄2-story brick building with a heavily modillioned cornice and decorated bargeboards on the front end of its gabled roof. The sills and lintels are made of stone, with cross and scroll patterns worked into the brick. An oriel window projects from the cross-gable on the west facade.In 1867, the earliest known map showing Nelsonville, at the time the growing home of workers at the West Point Foundry in nearby Cold Spring, depicts the store at the spot with James Y. Dykman's name attached to it, suggesting it had been there for quite some time. He also had it painted on the wall of the building, where it remained until the late 20th century. A later map, in 1912, when Dykman had opened another store nearby with his name, shows the building still in use as a general store. In the 1950s, its rear was enlarged to accommodate more apartments. It has otherwise remained as it was in the mid-19th century when it was built.

The Cold Spring Cemetery Gatehouse is located along Peekshill Road in Nelsonville, New York, United States. It is a cut granite Gothic Revival cottage built in 1863, one of the earliest uses of that style in the Hudson Highlands. It is used as a house today and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is a one-story building of coursed granite with a jerkin roof cross-gabled on both north and south (front and back). The roof is pierced by a brick chimney; the arched projecting front entrance is flanked by lancet windows. The east facade, facing the cemetery, has a porch whose roof is supported by four pillars with decorative brackets. There is a projecting bay window on the west side. Both gables are topped by two dormer windows. Opposite the house is a small stone booth with lancet windows, connected to the cemetery's stone wall.The Cold Spring Rural Cemetery Association bought a 30-acre (12 ha) parcel in Nelsonville shortly after its formation in 1862. New York City architects Mead and Woodward were hired to design the grounds while Woodward's frequent collaborator George E. Harney worked on the gatehouse. It was finished by 1865 in time for its photograph to be used in the association's bylaws pamphlet.

The Hustis House is located on Main Street (NY 301) in Nelsonville, New York, United States. It is a small home built sometime in the middle of the 19th century, likely as housing for workers at the West Point Foundry in nearby Cold Spring. It has remained nearly intact since then, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The house is a simple one-and-a-half-story frame clapboard-sided structure with a stone basement, its gabled roof sloping saltbox-style to create an extended rear first floor. Its doors and windows are trimmed with plain wooden sills and lintels. The only decorative touch are the pillars on the covered porch, which was added sometime after the house was built. A cellar door and shed addition on the rear also seem to have come later.It is unknown exactly when the house was built. It first appears on an 1867 map of the region as the property of an E. Hustis but with an earlier construction date indicated. It is typical of the kind of vernacular homes found in Nelsonville, a community that was home to many workers at the foundry.

The H. D. Champlin & Son Horseshoeing and Wagonmaking shop building is located on Main Street (NY 301) in Nelsonville, New York, United States. It is a typical commercial structure for a common business of the late 19th century that survives in good condition. In 1982 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Champlin started his business in 1858 in a building on nearby Spring Street behind the present property. His name does not show up on maps at that site until 1876, and only by 1912 does the current, one-story brick building appear on any map of the village.The entranceway was expanded and a larger door installed at some point before then. It is used today as a garage.

The original Fish and Fur Club building is at Main (NY 301) and Pearl Streets in Nelsonville, New York, United States. It is now used as Nelsonville's village hall. In 1982 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). It is a single-story three-by-three-bay wood frame building on a stone foundation. An asphalt-shingled hipped roof is pierced in the front by a triangular dormer with a semicircular window. On the front is a poured-concrete porch with wooden posts and railings, leading to the main entrance, a recessed, panelled and glazed double door with a three-part transom. It is flanked by two wood-framed glass bay windows.

The J.Y. Dykman Store is located at Main (NY 301) and Pearl streets in the village of Nelsonville, New York, United States, across from the Fish and Fur Club, now the village hall. Like that building, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is currently an antique map store. It is a one-story, four-bay clapboard-sided frame building. Three of the front four bays are taken up by wood-framed plate glass windows and the recessed double-door entrance with single-light transom; the western bay is a garage added later on. Above it is a bracketed sheet metal entablature with the words "J.Y. DYKMAN" and fleur-de-lis and swag motifs on the fascia and pilaster capitals.The 1876 Beers map of the Nelsonville area, the earliest one, shows the corner as part of the Gouverneur estate. By 1912 James Y. Dykman, a prominent local businessman who had already opened a feed store nearby, is listed as the owner of a grocery at the site. By the late 20th century it had become Hudson Rogue, a dealer in antique maps and prints.

The house at 249 Main Street (New York State Route 301), Nelsonville, New York, United States, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 as part of the Hudson Highlands Multiple Resource Area. It was built around 1870 and combines aspects of the Italianate and Carpenter Gothic architectural styles which were prevalent at that time.It is a two-story clapboard-sided wood-frame structure on a brick foundation, located next to First Baptist Church of Cold Spring on the western end of the small village. It has intersecting gable roofs, with paneled frieze and decorative vergeboards.In the apex of the gables on all but the south side is a pointed arch window. An oriel window projects from the west wall, echoing a two-story projecting bay on the east. Across the first story of the northern (front) facade is a full porch. In the rear is an offset two-story frame wing with similar gabled roof and vergeboard treatment. It has a small shed-roofed porch of its own on its east.The house is first recorded on a 1912 tax map of the village. Its date of construction is given by the assessor as approximately 1870. It does not appear to have been substantially altered since its construction. The west wing of the house, for example, still maintains its service staircase, linking what was once the staff quarters with the kitchen. There is original stained glass throughout.

The house at 3 Crown Street in Nelsonville, New York, United States is located at the corner of Crown, a short side street, and Secor Street. It is a 19th-century brick home that was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 as "the finest mid-century Italianate structure in the area."It is a two-story, five-bay brick house on a stone foundation. The centrally-located doorway, behind a shed-roofed porch with two decorative piers, has an arched transom and four-paneled sidelights. All the windows have segmented arched brick lintels and shutters. The gabled roofline is distinguished by a modillioned cornice, and is pierced by two brick chimneys on the south and one large one at a cross-gable on the north. A rear wing has been added since the house was built.Local property tax records suggest the house was built in 1868. It does not appear on the first map of Nelsonville, in 1867, but is on an 1876 version. There, its owner is identified as J. and B. Secor. Local builder E. Ferris, with whom Secor co-owned another property in town, is noted as being active in that area of the village on the earlier map. He is thus considered likely to have built 3 Crown Street.Since the Secors, it has been through a number of owners, mainly physicians. They have collectively made very little change to the house.

Plumbush is the former house and farm of Robert Parker Parrott, inventor of the Parrott gun. It is located at the junction of NY 9D and Peekskill Road south of Cold Spring, New York, United States. The house was built for Parrott by local architect George Edward Harney in 1865, when he had taken over as superintendent of the nearby West Point Foundry. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1992, due to its association with Parrott and Harney's interpretation of patterns by Andrew Jackson Downing.

Fair Lawn is a house located off NY 9D just south of Cold Spring, New York, United States. It was designed by the painter Thomas Prichard Rossiter, who moved into it for the last decade of his life. Subsequent owners modified the house slightly. In 1982 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Grove, also known as Loretto Rest, is a historic house located on Grove Court in Cold Spring, New York, United States. It was built as the estate of Frederick Lente, surgeon at the nearby West Point Foundry and later a founder of the American Academy of Medicine, in the mid-19th century. The Italian-villa design, popular at the time, was by the prominent architect Richard Upjohn. In 2008 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A later renovation replaced its original roof with a mansard roof. After the Lente family sold it, it was purchased by the Roman Catholic Church and converted to a convent. That use ended in 1977 and it has remained vacant since then, suffering the effects of neglect and decay. The surrounding land was subdivided and developed, eliminating much of Upjohn's original landscaping. In the late 2000s the mansard roof was replaced with one more like the original. It is now the property of the village of Cold Spring, which has attempted to preserve but done nothing to restore the estate.
