The Chiari Institute is a medical institution that focuses on the treatment of Arnold–Chiari malformation and syringomyelia. It was established in 2001 by the North Shore-LIJ Health System, and is located in Great Neck, New York. The institute was founded by Thomas H. Milhorat, MD shortly after he was appointed the Chairman of Neurosurgery at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, and Paolo Bolognese, MD. It is now led by Raj Narayan, MD. Paolo Bolognese left TCI on September, 1st, 2014The institute itself is used as a treatment facility for patients with Chiari malformations and related illnesses. Research projects are carried out at the Boas-Marks Research Center, located on the campus of North Shore University Hospital. While working with the Chiari Institute, Milhorat and Bolognese have published several articles related to the diagnosis and treatment of Chiari malformations.

US Post Office-Great Neck is a historic post office building located at Great Neck Plaza in the town of North Hempstead, Nassau County, New York, United States. It was built in 1939 and designed by consulting architect William Dewey Foster (1890-1958) for the Office of the Supervising Architect. It is a one-story, pentagonal shaped skeletal frame building clad with plucked textured buff limestone in the Classical Revival style. It features a semicircular entrance portico supported by four square columns. Above the entrance is a relief sculpture of an eagle with 13 stars sculpted in 1940 by Gaetano Cecere.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. It was designated as a local historical landmark on December 1, 2004.

Manhasset Secondary School, also referred to as Manhasset Junior/Senior High School or simply Manhasset High School, is a six-year comprehensive public middle and high school in Manhasset, New York, on the North Shore of Long Island. The 7–12 school is the only secondary school in the Manhasset Union Free School District. As for the 2020–21 school year, the school had a total enrollment of 1,492 students, with 144.16 classroom teachers on FTE basis) for a student-teacher ratio of 10.35:1. 114 students (7.6%) were eligible for free lunch while 9 (0.6%) were eligible for reduced-price lunch.

Great Neck Plaza is a village on the Great Neck Peninsula in the Town of North Hempstead, in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 7,482 at the time of the 2020 census.

Great Neck is a station on the Long Island Rail Road's Port Washington Branch in Great Neck Plaza, New York. It is the westernmost station on the branch in Nassau County. The station is located at Middle Neck Road and Station Plaza at Great Neck Road, 0.25 miles (0.40 km) north of Northern Boulevard and 15.9 miles (25.6 km) from Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan. From just east of the station, the line becomes single track to Port Washington.

The population was 1,186 at the 2010 census. As an unincorporated hamlet, it is governed by the Town of North Hempstead. The hamlet's name is rarely used in part because of how the area was never incorporated.

Russell Gardens is a village on the Great Neck Peninsula in the Town of North Hempstead, in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 945 at the 2010 census. The area was proposed to become part of neighboring Thomaston in that village's original incorporation plans – but residents objected and decided instead to incorporate Russell Gardens as a separate village that same year.

Great Neck is a region on Long Island, New York, that covers a peninsula on the North Shore and includes nine villages, among them Great Neck, Great Neck Estates, Great Neck Plaza, Kings Point, and Russell Gardens, and a number of unincorporated areas, as well as an area south of the peninsula near Lake Success and the border territory of Queens. The incorporated village of Great Neck had a population of 9,989 at the 2010 census, while the larger Great Neck area comprises a residential community of some 40,000 people in nine villages and hamlets in the town of North Hempstead, of which Great Neck is the northwestern quadrant. The hamlets are census-designated places that consolidate various unincorporated areas. They are statistical entities and are not recognized locally. However, there are locally recognized neighborhoods within the hamlet areas, such as Harbor Hills, Saddle Rock Estates, University Gardens, and Manhasset. The Manhasset neighborhood (in ZIP Code 11030) is not considered part of Great Neck. The part of the Hamlet of Manhasset that is considered part of Great Neck includes the Great Neck Manor neighborhood. Great Neck Gardens is featured on many maps as a name of one such hamlet, even as the name is used rarely if ever by local residents.
