Chesterfield, New York

Keeseville is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Clinton and Essex counties, New York, United States. The population was 1,815 at the 2010 census. The hamlet was named after the Keese family, early settlers from Vermont. It developed along the Ausable River, which provided water power for mills and industrial development. Keeseville is in the towns of Au Sable and Chesterfield and is south of the city of Plattsburgh. It is located inside what are now the boundaries of Adirondack Park, which was authorized in the 20th century. On January 23, 2013, the town's selectboard voted to dissolve the village. As of 2016, the U.S. Census Bureau still had Keeseville listed as a village.

Double-Span Metal Pratt Truss Bridge is a historic Pratt truss bridge over the Ausable River at Keeseville in Clinton County and Essex County, New York. It was built in 1877 by the Murray Dougal & Company of Milton, Pennsylvania. It is 214 feet in length and 16 feet wide. It consists of two 107 foot spans supported by a pier at mid-stream. It is the oldest extant example of a metal Pratt truss bridge in New York State.The bridge carries Liberty Street over the Ausable River between Ausable Street and River River. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. In 2008 it was closed, and was in anticipation of repairs.

Rembrandt Hall is a historic home located at Keeseville in Essex County, New York. It was built in 1851 and is a 1+1⁄2-story brick Gothic Revival style cottage. It consists of a central 2-story entrance pavilion flanked by identical bay windows. The interior features a noted rounded central staircase. It was designed by architect Isaac G. Perry for Emma Clara Peale Barton, wife of Caleb D. Barton and daughter of artist Rembrandt Peale.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Tomlinson House is a historic home located at Keeseville in Essex County, New York. It was built in 1846 and is a two-story frame late-Federal style residence. The Keeseville Historic District is a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places containing 142 historic structures in Keeseville, in Essex and Clinton counties in New York, in the United States. The buildings, built between 1820 and 1936, are concentrated on the streets near the Ausable River, which runs through the center of the village. The district contains well-preserved examples of industrial and commercial buildings, working-class houses, entrepreneurs' residences, and two historic bridges spanning the Ausable River which divides the village and is the border between Essex and Clinton counties. Keeseville's architectural heritage includes regional examples of Classical, Gothic Revival, and Italianate design, many designed and built by noted local craftsmen Seneca and Isaac Perry, along with more modest structures; many of the structures are built of local river sandstone. In its historic setting and in the quality and variety of its historic structures, the Keeseville Historic District typifies the Adirondack water-powered mill community of the period 1820–1890.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Champlain Valley is a region of the United States around Lake Champlain in Vermont and New York extending north slightly into Quebec, Canada. It is part of the St. Lawrence River drainage basin, drained northward by the Richelieu River into the St. Lawrence at Sorel-Tracy, Quebec (northeast of Montreal). The Richelieu valley is not generally referred to as part of the Champlain Valley. The Champlain Lake Valley is the most heavily populated region in Vermont, broadly stretching eastward from the lake's shore to the base of the Green Mountains. Beyond urbanized Chittenden County, however, the valley's landscape is primarily open pasture and row crops, making the Champlain Valley the most productive agricultural region of Vermont. The New York portion of the Champlain Valley includes the eastern portions of Clinton County and Essex County. Most of this area is part of the Adirondack Park, offering tremendous views of the Adirondack High Peaks region and many recreational opportunities in the park and along the relatively undeveloped coast line of Lake Champlain. The city of Plattsburgh is to the north, and the historic town of Ticonderoga is in the southern part of the region. The northern part of Lake George is located at, and near Ticonderoga, and therefore is a part of the Champlain Valley.

Old State Road Bridge is a historic Pratt Pony Truss bridge over the Ausable River at AuSable Chasm and Chesterfield in Clinton and Essex County, New York. It was built in 1890. The bridge is 107 feet (32.6 m) in length, 23 feet (7 m) wide, and 10 feet (3 m) in height.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

AuSable Chasm Bridge is a historic steel arch bridge with concrete and stone faced approach spans that carries US 9 over the Ausable River at AuSable between Clinton and Essex Counties, New York. It was built in 1932–1933. The main span is 222 feet (68 m) in length, with two 52-foot (16 m) foot approach spans, for an overall length with approaches and abutments of 526 feet (160 m). It is approximately 40 feet (12 m) wide, with a span height of 45 feet (14 m) and overall height of 70 feet (21 m).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Au Sable, or Ausable ( oss-AY-bəl), is a town in Clinton County, New York, United States. The population was 3,146 at the 2010 census. The name is from the Ausable River that flows through the town and means "of sand". The town is in the southeastern corner of the county, south of Plattsburgh.

Ausable Chasm is a sandstone gorge and tourist attraction located near the hamlet of Keeseville, New York, United States. It is directly due west of Port Kent. The Ausable River runs through it and then empties into Lake Champlain. The gorge is about two miles (3.2 km) long and is a tourist attraction in the Adirondacks region of Upstate New York. It is fed by the Rainbow Falls at its southern extreme.
