Union Vale, New York

Clove Mountain is located in Union Vale, Dutchess County, New York, rising to an elevation of 1,398 ft (426 m). It is the town's highest point. It marks the southern extent of the Taconic Mountains and its bedrock is metamorphic, composed of rocks like schist, phyllite, and metagraywacke. Flora and fauna on the mountain are consistent with those found throughout the broader New England Uplands. Rattlesnakes are commonly found on the mountain.

Oswego Meeting House and Friends' Cemetery is a historic Society of Friends meeting house and cemetery in Moore's Mill, Dutchess County, New York. It was built in 1790 and is a 1+1⁄2-story frame building sided with clapboards and wooden shingles. It has a moderately pitched gable roof and two entrances on the front facade, each flanked by two windows. The cemetery contains about 50 stones and burials range in date from the 1790s to 1880s. Also on the property is a privy.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Verbank is a hamlet in the town of Union Vale in Dutchess County, New York, United States. Verbank is served by a post office with the ZIP code of 12585; the ZCTA for ZIP Code 12585 had a population of 956 at the 2000 census. Verbank is home to Camp Young Judaea Sprout Lake, which was established in 1976 as a camp for children grades 2–8, focused on Zionist and Jewish education. The camp was formerly a cardiac support summer camp. The Verbank Hunting And Fishing Club, on Verbank Club Road, was created in 1928. The Verbank United Methodist Church is located at the junction of County Route 9 and New York State Route 82. The Dutchess and Columbia Railroad was chartered in 1866 to build a line from Fishkill on the Hudson River, northeast and north to the New York and Harlem Railroad at Craryville. On the railroad, a railroad station, the church, a post office, and two stores existed in the area that was known as Verbank Station. In its early years, Verbank was home to two gristmills and a paper mill.

Innisfree Garden is an American nonprofit public garden influenced by Chinese style in Millbrook, New York. The garden was established between 1930 and 1960 as the private garden of Walter and Marion Beck, inspired by scroll paintings of the 8th-century Chinese poet and painter Wang Wei. With the help of landscape architect Lester Collins from Harvard University, individual garden scenes inspired by the Chinese paintings were connected to an overall landscape around a glacial lake, in keeping with the ecological surroundings. From 1960, the garden was managed by a foundation headed by Collins, and open to the public. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Dutchess County in 2019.

Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Church (LaGrangeville, New York) is a Roman Catholic parish church located in Lagrangeville, Dutchess County, under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York. It was established as a mission of St. Columba in Hopewell Junction in 1998 before being elevated to parish status in 2002. The church was built 2006–2008.

Murphy Grist Mill, also known as the Old Mill, is a historic grist mill located at Poughquag, Dutchess County, New York. It was built in 1889, and is a two-story, front-gabled, vernacular frame building with a stone and concrete foundation. It has a one-story, hipped roof porch supported by simple contemporary posts. Also on the property are the contributing ruins of a stone mill dam. During his 1909 campaign for New York State Senate, Franklin Delano Roosevelt gave a political speech from the porch of the mill building. The mill remained in use until about 1940. Franklin Delano Roosevelt Jr. purchased the property in 1949 and the mill was used primarily for storage. During the mid-1980s, it was given to the Town of Beekman and restoration began in 2014.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2015 by local non-profit Youth for Restoration.

Lynfeld is a farm located on South Road in the Town of Washington, New York, United States, near the village of Millbrook. Its farmhouse, a frame structure dating to the late 19th century, is in an unusual shape for a building in the Italianate architectural style. The land was first part of a much larger farm established sometime in the late 18th century. In the 1870s, the original owner's grandson built the main house. His son was an innovative farmer who was among the first in the Hudson Valley and Dutchess County, and in one case the country, to raise several new species of livestock. It remained in the original family's hands until the late 1960s. In 1987 the farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Beekman is a town in Dutchess County, New York, United States. It is part of the Poughkeepsie–Newburgh–Middletown, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the larger New York–Newark–Bridgeport, NY-NJ-CT-PA Combined Statistical Area. The population was 14,172 at the 2020 census. The town was named after Henry Beekman, a 17th-century land owner.

Beekman Meeting House and Friends' Cemetery is located on Emans Road in LaGrangeville, New York, United States. The meeting house is a wooden building from the early 19th century that has been unused and vacant for decades. As a result, it is in an advanced state of decay, and mostly collapsed. The cemetery, better preserved, is located a short distance away. The meeting house was built in 1809 for a meeting that split off from another one in the nearby hamlet of Oswego. After the Hicksite-Orthodox schism in 1828, it was one of only two meetings in the county to embrace Orthodox Quakerism. After that meeting dissolved in the early 20th century, it was for a time a Grange hall. It and its nearby cemetery were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Sylvan Lake is a hamlet in the Town of Beekman, Dutchess County, New York, United States. It is named after the lake it sits on, which was formed during the Ice Age.The early Indians originally named it "poughquag", which means "round body of water". A smaller lake known as Hidden Lake is where Daniel Delany, in the late 19th century, discovered iron ore and made his fortune. He eventually bought the adjacent property which was the entire shoreline of Sylvan Lake and rebuilt St. Denis Church for the town. Some iron ore mining also took place along the shores of Sylvan Lake in the early 1930s and some of these retainer wall pilings are still standing and can be clearly seen from a boat. When the mine was filled with water, construction equipment and mining tools were left on the bottom, and are present today.
