Arkville is a hamlet in the Town of Middletown, Delaware County, New York, United States. It is located along New York State Route 28, one mile north of the village of Margaretville in the western Catskill Mountains. It has the ZIP code 12406. Arkville is built either on or very close to the site of an old Lenape village called Pakatagkan. The main office of the Catskill Center for Conservation and Development is located in the Erpf House along Route 28. The hamlet straddles the Catskill Park Blue Line, which moves from the former Ulster and Delaware Railroad tracks to Dry Brook and then the East Branch of the Delaware River a short distance to the west.

The Arkville station, MP 48.1 on the Ulster and Delaware Railroad (U&D), and MP 37.52 on the Delaware and Northern Railroad (D&N), was another busy station, as this served as a junction between the two railroads. This station bore a strong resemblance to the Grand Hotel station and the Pine Hill station, which both looked like longer versions of the Mount Pleasant station.

The district contains 19 contributing buildings, two contributing sites, and four contributing structures. It includes the Hubbell family farmhouses (1925 and 1894–1895), poultry house (1890s), chicken house (1920s), woodworking shop (1930s), Keene residence, blacksmith shop (1880s), playhouse (mid-1930s), garage (1900), wagon house, "Cornell approved" business outhouse (c. 1910), privy (ca. 1850s), laundry / wood house (ca. 1900), carriage house (ca. 1860–1870), Milow Hubbell residence (pre 1848), office / machine shop / hardware store (1884–2001), lumber and cement storage and scales (pre-1900), dairy barn (1858) with silo and milk house, root cellar and tool shed, saw mill / cider mill (1850s–1860s), former ice house (now sap house), and powder magazine. The cemetery includes about 150 burials that date back to 1875.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Pakatakan Artists Colony Historic District is a national historic district located at Arkville in Delaware County, New York. The district contains 33 contributing buildings and two contributing structures built between 1886 and the 1960s. It consists of a small mountainside collection of studios and residences clustered about the original Pakatakan Lodge. It is an extremely well preserved collection of unusual Shingle Style and other wood frame seasonal buildings.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
