Cherry Hill Mall, New Jersey

The Hawaiian Cottage (or simply The Cottage) was a Polynesian style restaurant in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, United States. It opened in 1938, on Cherry Hill's western side, on Route 38, nearby the Cherry Hill Mall (which later opened in 1961). The Cottage was established by Michael Egidi and Mary Egidi-Pietrafesa. Started as a roadhouse, the restaurant soon emerged into what was considered a South Jersey landmark. The restaurant's exterior was known for its vivid yellow, pineapple-shaped dome, burning Polynesian torches at the entrance, and a Hawaiian atmosphere that included a luau show. After Mr. Egidi's death in a car accident in the early 1940s, Mrs. Egidi continued to operate the business. Her second husband, John Muresan, helped with the restaurant's growth. On July 1, 1978, the restaurant was destroyed by a fire.Both John and Mary Muresan died in 1997.

Politz Day School of Cherry Hill is a private modern orthodox Jewish day school in Cherry Hill, New Jersey which includes the Caskey Elementary School and Konig Middle School. The school shares a common campus with Congregation Sons of Israel in Cherry Hill. Politz offers preschool (for children as young as eighteen months) through eighth grade with the mission that students learn in an environment combining the abundance of the Jewish religion with traditional secular education. The school serves families living in Cherry Hill, South Jersey, northern Delaware, and Philadelphia including the Main Line, Center City, and the Northeast. Rabbi Chaim Greenwald was named Head of School ahead of the 2021–2022 academic year.

Maple Shade High School is a comprehensive community public high school that serves students in seventh through twelfth grades from Maple Shade Township, in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Maple Shade School District. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 888 students and 82.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.8:1. Cherry Hill High School West (also known as Cherry Hill West or CHW) is a four-year comprehensive public high school, serving students in ninth grade through twelfth grades in Cherry Hill, Camden County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as part of the Cherry Hill Public Schools. Cherry Hill West is one of three high schools in the district; the others are Cherry Hill High School East and Cherry Hill Alternative High School. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,364 students and 110.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.4:1. The Cherry Hill Mall, owned by Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT), was originally known as Cherry Hill Shopping Center, commonly reported as the first indoor, climate-controlled shopping center east of the Mississippi River in the United States, and opened on October 11, 1961. Cherry Hill Mall is located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, within the unincorporated namesake neighborhood and census-designated place (CDP) of Cherry Hill Mall, New Jersey. The mall is bounded by Route 38, Haddonfield Road (County Route 644), Church Road (County Route 616), and Cherry Hill Mall Drive. The center was designed by architect Victor Gruen and built and managed by The Rouse Company. Rouse sold its shopping center portfolio to PREIT in 2003 as PREIT converted its holdings from residential to retail. The mall has a gross leasable area of 1,248,347 square feet (115,975.2 m2), placing it in the top ten among the largest shopping malls in New Jersey. The mall is currently anchored by JCPenney, Macy's, and Nordstrom. The farm that was near the site of the Cherry Hill Mall is widely held to be the source of the 1962 renaming of what had been called Delaware Township to its current name of Cherry Hill Township. The town was named Cherry Hill in a voter referendum due to the development of a new U.S. Postal Service office for the region, and historical ties to Cherry Hill Farm, which once occupied land opposite the current mall site, and various locations named for the farm, including the Cherry Hill Estates housing development and the Cherry Hill Inn.

Ellisburg is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Cherry Hill Township, in Camden County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 8,168. The area had been part of the combined Erlton-Ellisburg CDP, which was discontinued after the 2000 census.

The Cherry Hill Public Library is a public library located at 1100 Kings Highway North in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, United States. The library is overseen by the Library Board of Trustees and run by The Library Director. Originally called The Cherry Hill Free Public Library, the word "Free" was dropped from the title in 2003. The current library building was completed in December 2004 to replace a 1966 structure just northeast of the same location. In old aerial images of the area, the double-diamonds with the brown roof structure and grassy lot are the old Library before demolition. The pad to the southwest of the old library was the site of Richman's Ice Cream before its demolition; and this site has become the site of the new library building. At 72,000 square feet (6,700 m2), Cherry Hill's newest library is among the largest municipal libraries in New Jersey.

Maple Shade Township is a township in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 19,980, an increase of 849 (+4.4%) from the 2010 census count of 19,131, which in turn reflected an increase of 0.3% from the 19,079 counted in the 2000 census. The township, and all of Burlington County, is a part of the Philadelphia-Reading-Camden combined statistical area and the Delaware Valley.What is now Maple Shade was originally formed as Chester Township on November 6, 1688, and was known as Cropwell Township from June 5, 1690, through February 22, 1699. Chester was incorporated as one of New Jersey's initial 104 townships by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798. Portions of the township were taken to form Cinnaminson Township (March 15, 1860) and Moorestown Township (March 11, 1922). The municipality's name was changed to Maple Shade Township as of November 6, 1945, based on the results of a referendum passed that same day.

The J.A. Sweeton Residence was built in 1950 in Cherry Hill, in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. At 1,500 square feet (140 m2), it is the smallest of the four Frank Lloyd Wright houses in New Jersey.This Usonian scheme house was constructed of concrete blocks and redwood plywood. The Sweeton House is sheltered by a dramatically pitched roof that comes within four feet of the ground. An impressive cantilevered carport extending about 20 feet (6.1 m) from the house provides a dramatic visual element to the entrance. Wright loved the automobile but thought garages were a relic of the "livery-stable mind," according to his revised autobiography. The compact horizontal plan reflects a standard Usonian scheme. Three bedrooms and one bathroom are arranged on a linear axis like cabins of an ocean liner. With its prominent living room defined by six glass doors, mitered glass corners and cathedral ceiling, the home seems larger than its 1,500 square feet (140 m2). The Sweeton House remains a private residence and is not accessible by the public. The larger original site has been subdivided and is isolated from major roadways. The first settlement was a small cluster of homes named Colestown, in the perimeters of what is now the Colestown Cemetery.
