Montchanin (French pronunciation: [mɔ̃ʃanɛ̃]) is a commune in the Saône-et-Loire department in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in eastern France. The town finds its history during the Industrial Revolution in France in the 19th century, being famous for its terracotta tiles and for its coal mines being active between 1820 and 1912.
