Dog poop girl (Korean: 개똥녀) refers to a 2005 incident in South Korea which was one of the first internationally reported occurrences of doxing. In a Seoul subway car, a young woman's lap dog defecated inside the train, and the woman was photographed on another passenger's mobile phone camera after she did not clean up the mess despite numerous requests. The photos were posted on a popular Korean website and widely distributed; the woman was later identified, and her personal information was published online. The woman was publicly shamed and quit her university. Newspaper editorials then addressed the issues concerning Internet vigilantism and privacy concerns.

Sinchon (Korean: 신촌; Hanja: 新村) is a region of South Korea surrounding Sinchon-dong, Changcheon-dong, Nogosan-dong and Daeheung-dong. It is known for its numerous universities including Yonsei University, Ewha Womans University, Sogang University, Hongik University and Myongji University, as well as its vibrant nightlife.

Sinchon Station is a station on Line 2 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway in Mapo-gu, north of the Han River. It is located between Hongik University Station and Ewha Womans University Station. It is the closest station to Sogang University, Yonsei University, Hyundai Department Store Sinchon, and Seoul Korea Temple. The area between the station and the front gate of Yonsei University is known simply as Sinchon-dong, and is a mecca of nightlife in Seoul, being packed with restaurants, pubs and bars that draw young adults from all over. This station is also in the vicinity of a bus terminal offering service to cities in northwestern Gyeonggi province, including Ilsan, Gimpo, and Ganghwa.

Sinchon Station is a station on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line. It was opened as a train station in 1921 and Seoul Metro traffic commenced in 2009.

Sogang University (SU, Hangul: 서강대학교 Hanja: 西江大學校, literally "West River University") is one of the most prestigious private research universities in Seoul, South Korea. It was established in 1960 by the Wisconsin Province of the Society of Jesus. Sogang is the oldest Jesuit institution of higher education in South Korea, and it has been ranked as the top 3 Catholic university in Asia.

Changcheon-dong is a dong, neighbourhood of Seodaemun-gu in Seoul, South Korea. Ewha Womans University Station is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 2. As its name indicates, it serves the nearby Ewha Womans University, although Sinchon Station on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line is closer to the school. Although technically the station has one island platform with both rail tracks running on opposite sides, the two boarding areas with screen doors are essentially blocked off from each other, and are connected only by a few long and narrow passageways. Some people mistake this station to have two side platforms that are adjacent to each other.Nearby Shopping Area As many schools and residential buildings are close to Ewha Woman's University Station, there are many shops selling clothes at relatively low price. The main street selling clothes is named Ewhayeodae 5-gil.

Sogang University Station is a station on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line in Seoul, South Korea. Seogang Station was renamed Sogang University Station on March 17, 2014.

Severance Hospital is a hospital located in Sinchon-dong, Seodaemun District, South Korea. It is one of the oldest and biggest university hospitals in South Korea. It has 2,437 beds and treats approximately 2,500,000 outpatients and 840,000 inpatients annually. The hospital was founded as a royal hospital in 1885 by Horace N. Allen which was then restructured as Severance Hospital by Oliver R. Avison, a Canadian medical missionary with the advisory of Underwood, his role model and financial assistance from Louis H. Severance. On September 23, 1904, Avison's hospital, Severance Hospital and College, first opened its doors. Since 1957 it has been affiliated with Yonsei University College of Medicine, and is part of the Yonsei University Health System.

The Korean VLBI Network (KVN) is a radio astronomy observatory located in South Korea. It comprises three 21-meter radio telescopes that function as an interferometer, using the technique of very-long-baseline interferometry (VLBI).

Chejungwon (Korean: 제중원; Hanja: 濟衆院) was founded in Seoul in 1885, and is known as the first Western medical institution in Korea. It affiliated with Yonhee University in 1957, which changed its name to Yonsei University to mark the collaboration. It is now part of the Yonsei University Health System.

Ewha Women's University (Korean: 이화여자대학교; Hanja: 梨花女子大學校) is a private women's university in Seoul founded in 1886 by Mary F. Scranton under Emperor Gojong. It was the first university founded in South Korea. Currently, Ewha is the world's largest female educational institute and one of the prestigious universities in South Korea.
