Hayden is a city in Kootenai County, Idaho, United States. Located in the northern portion of the state, it is a suburb of nearby Coeur d'Alene and its population was 15,570 at the 2020 census.

Lake City High School, sometimes referred to as Lake City or LCHS, is a four-year public secondary school in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The second high school in the city, LCHS opened in 1994 and draws from the southern and western areas of the Coeur d'Alene school district. The school's colors are navy blue, silver, and teal, and its mascot is the Timberwolf, which students commonly refer to as T-Wizzy.The campus is located on a 45-acre (182,000 m2) site on the corner of Ramsey Road and West Hanley Avenue. Lake City provides educational opportunities to over 1,600 students in grades 9–12. The high school includes several athletic fields, a 2,000 seat football stadium, three gyms, a large weight room, six tennis courts, a track, around 60 classrooms, and a large 400-seat auditorium.

Dalton Gardens is a city in Kootenai County, Idaho, United States. It is considered a suburb of Coeur d'Alene and borders the city to the north and east. The city of Dalton Gardens is also part of the larger Spokane-Coeur d'Alene Combined Metropolitan Statistical Area which encompasses Kootenai County, Idaho. The population of Dalton Gardens was 2,335 at the time of the 2010 census.

The Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy is a public charter school that provides college preparatory education for grades 6–12. It was labeled the best school within Idaho by U.S. News & World Report and 115th in the country.

Hayden Lake is a city in Kootenai County, Idaho, United States. Located in the northern portion of the state, it is considered a suburb of the city of Coeur d'Alene. Its population was 574 at the 2010 census. The city was named after the nearby Lake Hayden, which is now more commonly also known as Hayden Lake, after the city. The city is located around the Hayden Lake Country Club and a small portion of the northern part of the lake. Most of the lake is surrounded by the larger city of Hayden. The shores of the lake are filled with summer cabins to large historical and modern mansions and the historic Hayden Lake Country Club lies at the center of the community.

The John A. Finch Caretaker's House is a historic house in Hayden Lake, Idaho. It was built in 1903 for John A. Finch, a significant investor in Coeur d'Alene's mines. It was designed in the Swiss Chalet style by architect Kirtland Cutter. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since September 14, 1987.

Coeur d’Alene High School is a four-year public secondary school in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, one of two traditional high schools in the Coeur d'Alene School District #271. It serves the northeastern half of the district, with students from the cities of Coeur d'Alene, Dalton Gardens, Hayden, and a portion of unincorporated Kootenai County. The school colors are Blue and White and the mascot are the Vikings.

The 130,000-square-foot (12,000 m2) Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Center Coeur d'Alene has been designed to serve as a place of gathering and enrichment houses an array of education, sports, faith, arts and supportive programs.In 2003, Joan Kroc, wife of McDonald's founder Ray Kroc, died, and entrusted to The Salvation Army the largest gift ever given to a private charity, for the express purpose of building and endowing Kroc Centers, envisioned as state-of-the-art recreational and arts facilities in under-served communities throughout the nation.The Kroc Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho is a nearly $70 million investment in the community set among 12 acres (49,000 m2). The Kroc Center houses four major components: a center of worship and performance venue, an aquatics center, a fitness and recreation center, and special event facilities as well as arts, education, and wellness programming.

Garwood is an unincorporated community in northern Kootenai County, Idaho, United States.

Lakeland High School is a four-year public secondary school in Rathdrum, Idaho, one of two traditional high schools in the Lakeland Joint School District #272 of northern Kootenai County. The current campus opened in 1979 as a senior high school(grades 10–12); The two high schools of Rathdrum and Spirit Lake camp together to form Lakeland High School in the fall of 1961. The campus located at the now Lakeland Middle School was built in 1962 and was moved into as soon as it was completed. In 1979, that building became the junior high school. The school colors are green and gold and the mascot is a hawk. Even though Rathdrum is a small city, many people attend Lakeland High School. As of January 2008, the school enrolled about 800 students in grades 9–12. It serves students from the Rathdrum, Hauser Lake, Twin Lakes, Spirit Lake and Garwood communities, and other nearby areas. The Lakeland Joint School District was formed in 1948 by consolidating 13 smaller districts; the existing high schools in Rathdrum and Spirit Lake to the north operated until the first Lakeland High School opened in 1961. It took 13 years and 14 elections until the funding for LHS was approved by voters in June 1961. The initial Lakeland High School site on Main Street was deemed inadequate and the present site, now the junior high, was finished in 1962. The district's second high school, Timberlake, opened its doors in 1998 in Spirit Lake. The two high schools from Spirit Lake and Rathdrum came together in the fall of 1961 to create Lakeland High School. The original site of Lakeland High School was in the Rathdrum High School, now Mountain View High School, on Main Street in Rathdrum.
