Slagle-Byers House is a historic home located at Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland. It is a two-story gable-roofed Flemish bond brick structure with a two-story rear wing. It was constructed about 1819.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The John Orendorff Farm is a historic home and farm complex located at Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland, United States. The complex consists of a brick house, a brick privy, a brick smokehouse, a frame barn, a frame hog pen, a frame wagon shed, two poultry houses, and a feed house. The house is a five-by-two-bay brick structure, built in 1861 in the Italianate style. It has a 2+1⁄2-story, six-by-two-bay brick ell on the north side.The John Orendorff Farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

McDaniel College is a private college in Westminster, Maryland. Established in 1867, it was known as Western Maryland College until 2002 when it was renamed McDaniel College in honor of an alumnus who gave a lifetime of service to the college. The college also has a satellite campus, McDaniel College Budapest, in Budapest, Hungary. McDaniel College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The college owns and manages a shopping center and residential properties through its for-profit arm.

Baker Memorial Chapel is a building on the campus of McDaniel College, in Westminster, Maryland, that was dedicated April 20, 1958. The chapel was built in memory of W.G. Baker, Joseph D. Baker, Daniel Baker, and Sarah Baker Thomas. When the initial endowment was announced in 1955 both the donor's identity and the identity of the memorialized individuals were unknown. As conceived, the new chapel was to have a capacity of approximately 900, and was "expected to be of Georgian colonial architecture in keeping with the design of other recent buildings on the campus."The chapel was designed by architects Otto Eugene Adams and E.G. Riggs, of Baltimore. The Chapel steeple, 113 feet tall, is visible for miles around and was originally topped by a stainless steel cross 6 feet in height. The wood panels of the chancel were designed to complement the antique organ console which was originally in the Bruton Parish Church, at Williamsburg, Virginia. The organ in the new chapel was given by two alumni, father and son, Roger J. Whiteford, a prominent Washington attorney and graduate in 1906, and his son Joseph S. Whiteford, a graduate in 1943, president of the Aeolian-Skinner Organ Company, Boston, Mass. The organ, with its 2,310 pipes, is held to be the largest in the area. The Whitefords also gave the carillon installed in the steeple.

Western Maryland College Historic District is a national historic district at Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland, United States. It is situated within the confines of the present 100-plus acre college campus of McDaniel College and comprises an area of about three acres at its southeast corner. It includes six of the college's earliest surviving buildings and structures: Alumni Hall, Carroll Hall, Levine Hall, The President's House, Little Baker Chapel, and the Ward Memorial Arch. These structures are the oldest surviving architectural links with the 19th century beginnings of the college.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Meadow Brook Farm, also known as the John Roop Farm or Samuel Roop Farm, is a historic home and farm complex located at Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland. The complex consists of the Victorian farmhouse and several period outbuildings including an 1809 two-story brick washhouse, brick smokehouse, brick privy, and brick tenant house. The house is a two-story brick structure that was built in the Pennsylvania German style about 1805. It has the typical gable roof, symmetrical façade, and L-shaped plan In 1868, the exterior and interior were remodeled to contemporary rural Victorian standards. The house was built during a period of significant immigration of Pennsylvania Germans into Maryland.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.In mid December 2016 the house was vandalized causing an estimated $100,000 worth of damage.

Roop's Mill is a historic grist mill complex located near Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland. The complex includes a three-story, brick and stone mill, dating from about 1795 and rebuilt in 1816; the David Roop House, an 1825 stone dwelling; a log cooper's shed; an early two-part bank barn; numerous farm sheds; a late-19th century iron suspension bridge; and a bank barn dated to the 1860s. The brick mill was constructed according to the designs of Oliver Evans.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Gilmor's Raid, also known as The Magnolia Station Train Raid, was a foraging and disruptive cavalry raid that was part of an overall campaign against Union railroads, led by Maj. Harry W. Gilmor with 135 men from the First and Second Maryland Cavalry regiments. It was authorized by Confederate Lt. Gen. Jubal Early during his Valley Campaigns of 1864, which threatened Washington, D.C., during the American Civil War.

The town exhibits a variety of building styles and notable examples of Greek Revival, Georgian, and Gothic Revival style architecture. Most of the structures exhibit early 19th-century residential vernacular architecture and mid-19th century commercial architecture.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

TownMall of Westminster, formerly Cranberry Mall, is a shopping mall located in Westminster, Maryland, United States on Maryland Route 140, 30 miles northwest of Baltimore. Owned by Westminster Mall LLC, and managed by The Woodmont Company. The mall features more than 20 stores, including a food court and Movie Theater. Belk, Boscov's, Dick's Sporting Goods, and RC Theaters are the mall's anchors. It's the only enclosed regional shopping center in Carroll County. The mall has recently been wired for fiber internet.

Bear Branch Nature Center is a nature center in Carroll County, Maryland near Westminster. It features interpretive exhibits about local plants and animals, an outdoor water feature and play area, a Discovery Room for children, an observation beehive, live animals including an eagle, hawks, owls, snakes, salamanders, turtles, frogs, and toads, a planetarium and observatory. The center is a facility of Carroll County Recreation & Parks. The nature center is adjacent to Hashawha Environmental Center, a residential facility that is also operated by Carroll County Recreation & Parks. Hashawha Environmental Center is home to Carroll County Public Schools' Outdoor School, a residential environmental education program open to every sixth grade student in the county. The two facilities are located on approximately 320 acres, with more than five miles of multi-use trails, a restored 19th century cabin, a lake, a pond, and access to both Bear Branch and Big Pipe Creek.
