Seaman Stadium is a stadium in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada, which is primarily used for baseball as the home field of the Okotoks Dawgs collegiate summer baseball team in the Western Canadian Baseball League. The ballpark has a capacity for 5,200 with a mix of stadium seating around the infield, and a grass berm stretching the left field line. The stadium features fan amenities typical of minor league stadiums such as concessions, a team store, a concourse which overlooks the playing field, as well as party decks & hospitality areas, and a high-definition video scoreboard, which was installed as an upgrade from the original screen in 2016. Seaman Stadium opened on June 6, 2007, becoming the home of the Dawgs, after the club used Foothills Stadium in Calgary from 2003 to 2005. It is named after the ballpark's principal donors, Donald Seaman and Doc Seaman. The Dawgs clinched the Western Major Baseball League Championship in 2007 and 2008 in front of sellout crowds at Seaman Stadium in both years. The Dawgs are annually among the leaders in per-game attendance in summer collegiate baseball across North America, with the franchise record of 4,558 fans per game occurring in 2023. The dimensions (in feet) are: 330 in left field, 325 in right field, and 400 in center field. Seaman Stadium was built at a cost of $16 million. Ballpark Digest named Seaman Stadium the "Best Ballpark in Summer Collegiate Baseball" in 2023.Construction of Duvernay Fieldhouse, located off the right field line of Seaman Stadium, was completed in 2009. It is a full service indoor training facility for the Dawgs WCBL team as well as Dawgs Youth Academy players.

Calgary/Okotoks Airranch Airport (TC LID: CFX2) is located 15 nautical miles (28 km; 17 mi) south of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The airport is home to Access Helicopters, Foothills Helicopter Training Academy, and Calgary-Okotoks Flying School, as well as many privately owned aircraft. The aerodrome is located in the heart of a residential community, with many houses having access to the airport's taxiway. Due to the proximity to the community the aerodrome is a noise sensitive area, and is accessible only to locally based aircraft. Due to ongoing financial issues, the airport is scheduled to close to fixed-wing traffic in the fall of 2021.

Okotoks was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1909 to 1930. The electoral district was named after the town of Okotoks.

Okotoks ( OH-kə-tohks, originally OK-ə-toks) is a town in the Calgary Region of Alberta, Canada. It is on the Sheep River, approximately 38 km (24 mi) south of Downtown Calgary. Okotoks has emerged as a bedroom community of Calgary. According to the 2021 Federal Census, the town has a population of 30,214 making it the largest town in Alberta.

Calgary/Okotoks (Rowland Field) Aerodrome (TC LID: CRF4) is located 13 nautical miles (24 km; 15 mi) south of Calgary and about 1.6 NM (3.0 km; 1.8 mi) north of Okotoks, Alberta, Canada.

Golden West Farms was a Canadian Thoroughbred horse racing stable and breeding farm at Okotoks, Alberta owned by Frank McMahon and Max Bell. Both partners were successful businessmen who invested in Thoroughbred racehorses. Frank McMahon most notably owned U.S. Racing Hall of Fame colt Majestic Prince, winner of the 1969 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes. Max Bell owned successful horses including the colt Meadow Court in a partnership with friend, Bing Crosby. Meadow Court raced in Europe where he won the 1965 Irish Derby and the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. According to the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame, Golden West Farms was "by far the most elaborate thoroughbred breeding farm between Ontario and British Columbia". The operation campaigned at race tracks across Canada. In 1967 their horse Gilmore won the Canadian Derby at Edmonton's Northlands Park. Trainer Roy Johnson campaigned horses for Golden West Farms at Woodbine Racetrack during the 1960s where they won numerous stakes races including the Coronation Futurity Stakes and the 1968 Plate Trial Stakes then Canada's most prestigious horse race, the Queen's Plate. The partnership was dissolved on the death of Max Bell in 1972.

Aldersyde is a hamlet in Alberta, Canada within the Foothills County. Located between Highway 2 and Highway 2A south of Highway 7, the hamlet is approximately 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) southeast of Okotoks, 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) north of High River and 25 kilometres (16 mi) south of Calgary. The Canadian Pacific Kansas City Aldersyde subdivision runs through the hamlet. The name "Aldersyde" was coined by a first settler for its Scottish sound, although apparently there is no place in Scotland with the same name.

Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School is a private university prep school in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada. It has students in Grades Kindergarten to 12, with its Grade 12 provincial exam scores consistently highly ranked. Strathcona-Tweedsmuir is Southern Alberta's first full IB World School, and Alberta's only independent school authorized to deliver IB Programmes in Grades K through 12. Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School place well in the annual Fraser Institute rankings. STS is also an active participant in the CESI (Canadian Educational Standards Institute) program and often volunteers teachers for inter-school evaluatory interaction. STS is also a member of Round Square and the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS).

The Sheep River is located in southwestern Alberta, Canada, and is part of the Bow River watershed. The river begins in the mountain valleys of Elbow-Sheep Wildland Provincial Park, passes through Sheep River Provincial Park, and joins the Highwood River about 8 km east of Okotoks. The Sheep River provides drinking water for the towns of Diamond Valley, and Okotoks.
