Lakeside, Missouri

Lake of the Ozarks is a reservoir created by impounding the Osage River in the northern part of the Ozarks in central Missouri. Parts of three smaller tributaries to the Osage are included in the impoundment: the Niangua River, Grandglaize Creek, and Gravois Creek. The lake has a surface area of 54,000 acres (220 km2) and 1,150 miles (1,850 km) of shoreline. The main channel of the Osage Arm stretches 92 miles (148 km) from one end to the other. The total drainage area is over 14,000 square miles (36,000 km2). The lake's serpentine shape has earned it the nickname "the Missouri Dragon", which has, in turn, inspired the names of local institutions such as the Magic Dragon Street Meet.

Bagnell Dam (informally, the Osage Dam) impounds the Osage River in the U.S. state of Missouri, creating the Lake of the Ozarks. The dam is located in the city of Lakeside in Miller County, near the Camden-Miller County line. The 148-foot (45 m) tall concrete gravity dam was built by the Union Electric Company (now Ameren) to generate hydroelectric power at its Osage Powerplant. It is 2,543 feet (775 m) long, including a 520-foot (160 m) long spillway and a 511-foot (156 m) long power station. The facility with eight generators has a maximum capacity of 215 megawatts. The dam provides power to 42,000 homes.The dam also creates Bagnell Dam Boulevard (formerly US 54 Business Route), a narrow two-lane highway connecting the nearby Bagnell Dam Strip with Lakeland and US 54. The dam is named for the nearby town of Bagnell, Missouri, which was named for William Bagnell, who platted the town in 1883.

Union Electric Administration Building-Lakeside, also known as Willmore Lodge and Egan Lodge, is a historic administration building and retreat overlooking Lake of the Ozarks and located near Lakeside, Miller County, Missouri. It was built in 1930 by Union Electric Company during the Bagnell Dam project. It is a one- to two-story, V-shaped Adirondack rustic style log building. It has a stone veneer foundation and an intersecting gable, cedar shake roof.: 5 : 5 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998, with a boundary increase in 2011.

Lake Ozark is a city in Camden and Miller counties in the U.S. state of Missouri, near its namesake, the Lake of the Ozarks. The population was 2,077 at the 2020 census.

KRMS-LD (channel 32) is a low-power television station licensed to Lake Ozark, Missouri, United States, serving the Lake of the Ozarks region (located in both the Springfield and Columbia–Jefferson City markets) as an affiliate of Cozi TV. It is owned by Viper Communications alongside radio stations KRMS (1150 AM) and KRMS-FM (93.5). The stations share studios on Old US 54 in Osage Beach; KRMS-LD's transmitter is located on Osage Ridge Road, also in Osage Beach.

Osage High School (School of the Osage) is a secondary school located in Osage Beach, Missouri. Approximately 96% of the students who attend the school are Caucasian, 1% are Hispanic, and the small remainder are Native American or African-American. The student to teacher ratio is 15 to 1. The school features numerous organizations and sports, and is an MSHSAA member.

Osage Beach is a city in Camden and Miller counties in the U.S. state of Missouri, near the Lake of the Ozarks. Most of the city is in Camden County, while a small eastern sliver is in Miller County. The population was 4,792 at the 2020 census.

The Grand Glaize Bridge is the name of two girder bridges that carry U.S. Route 54 over the Grand Glaize Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks in the city of Osage Beach, Missouri. The bridge on official maps is called the "Grandglaize" (one word) as is the body of water it crosses to differentiate it from an entirely different Grand Glaize Creek that is a tributary to the Meramec River in St. Louis County, Missouri. However, in widespread usage, it is referred to as so in two words. The original two-lane Grand Glaize Bridge was built in 1931 during the construction of Bagnell Dam and the Lake of the Ozarks. It was a Warren truss or deck truss structure with the trusses built under the deck so traffic could see the lake. Its unusual design prompted it to be called the "upside down bridge". Other bridges built across the lake at the time including the Hurricane Deck Bridge over the Osage Arm and the Niangua Bridge over the Niangua Arm were also deck truss structures. The only non-deck-truss bridge on the lake was the Niangua Arm US 54 Bridge. The bridge was known for its very narrow lanes and no shoulder. The new parallel girder bridge carrying westbound traffic was completed in 1984. A new eastbound girder bridge was built in 1995 and the original bridge was torn down. The bridges carry 3 lanes of traffic each way. In 2023, both the eastbound bridge and westbound underwent rehabilitation by placing epoxy-wearing on the surface. Only one side was done at a time.

The Oasis at Lakeport is an upcoming resort owned by SkyView Partners, scheduled to open in 2025 in Osage Beach, Missouri, on Lake of the Ozarks.

Kaiser is an unincorporated community in Miller County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is located on a county road just south of Route 42/134. The zip code is 65047. A post office called Kaiser has been in operation since 1904. The community was named after the local Kaiser family. With America's entry into World War I and the anti-German hysteria that followed, some residents proposed changing the name of the community to Success. However, after some debate, the plan failed.

KBMX was a radio station on 101.9 FM in Eldon, Missouri, which broadcast between 1988 and 2001. KBMX went off the air when its licensee, Lake Broadcasting, Inc., had all of its licenses cancelled in response to a Federal Communications Commission investigation. The frequency was reactivated October 2, 2006 by a new and unrelated station, KZWV.

KZWV (101.9 FM "101.9 The Wave") is a radio station airing an adult contemporary format licensed to Eldon, Missouri. The station serves the areas of Osage Beach, Missouri (as well as all the communities surrounding the Lake of the Ozarks) and Jefferson City, Missouri. KZWV's studio is located on Osage Beach Road in Osage Beach, with transmitting facilities just south of Eldon off of U.S. Route 54.
