Stillman College

Stillman Stadium is a stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of Stillman Tigers football.

Druid High School, originally Industrial City High School was a senior high school for black students in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and a part of Tuscaloosa City Schools. The school had black children from all social classes. The instruction emphasized manual trades instead of university careers, and lacked the resources held by the all-white Tuscaloosa High School. The school had a reputation for strong teachers as African-Americans at the time had few other prestigious career options. Nikole Hanna-Jones of ProPublica stated "Druid was a source of pride within the city’s black community."In 1970 the school was desegregated but only with a handful of students attending. In 1979 it was consolidated with Tuscaloosa High School to form Central High School (Tuscaloosa, Alabama). The former school identity, including mascots and colors, was discarded.

The Fitch House in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, at 3404 Sixth St., was built around 1830. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.It is a two-story two-room deep house with a two-story full-length porch. Its earliest portion, built around 1830, was a frame, two-story, one-room deep side hall and parlor house. It was expanded and modified later, perhaps around 1860 or even as late as around 1880, into its Greek Revival form. There is an "Eastlake-inspired projecting second-floor balcony" which was added around 1880.It is significant in part for its association with master builder and carpenter John S. Fitch, who built and lived in the house.

WTSK (790 AM, "Praise 93.3") is a radio station serving the Tuscaloosa, Alabama, area with a Gospel music format. It is under ownership of Townsquare Media. In February 2005, Apex Broadcasting Inc. (Houston L. Pearce, chairman) reached an agreement to sell WTSK and six other radio stations in Alabama to Citadel Broadcasting (Farid Suleman, chairman/CEO) for a reported sale price of $29 million. Citadel merged with Cumulus Media on September 16, 2011. Cumulus sold the station, along with its sister stations, to Townsquare Media effective July 31, 2012. WTSK provides regular weather coverage from ABC 33/40 Chief Meteorologist James Spann. During times of active severe, tropical, and Winter weather events, WTSK provides West, Alabama's only live and local weather coverage on the radio, with local, in house, Staff Meteorologist Bobby Best. Additionally, under the ownership of Townsquare Media and the direction of Market President/Chief Revenue Officer David R. Dubose, WTSK also provides West, Alabama radio's only live and local news coverage with News Director Don Hartley and West, Alabama's only live and local traffic coverage with Traffic Reporter Capt'n Ray.

West Tuscaloosa is a neighborhood located in the western area of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, U.S.A. The area is generally defined as encompassing the portions of the city west of Interstate 359, south of the Black Warrior River and north of the Moody Swamp. This area serves as the location of two higher education facilities, Stillman College and Shelton State Community College (C.A. Fredd Campus).

Greenwood Cemetery is a city cemetery established in c. 1820 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, U.S.. It is the oldest cemetery in the city and is located near the First African Baptist Church. It has a historical marker erected in 1996 by City of Tuscaloosa, the Heritage Commission of Tuscaloosa County, and Cahaba Trace Commission. Greenwood Cemetery is listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage since July 26, 1983.

Capitol Park on Childress Hill is a park in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on a bluff above the Black Warrior River. It was the site of the Alabama State Capitol from 1826 to 1846, when the capitol was moved to Montgomery. The capitol building was subsequently used for Alabama Central Female College. It burned in 1923. A historical marker in the park commemorates the school's history. The University of Alabama has a collection of papers related to the school. Classical architecture ruins from the building remain.

First African Baptist Church is a Baptist church located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It is affiliated with the National Baptist Convention, USA. It was built in 1907 from a congregation established in 1866, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Christ Episcopal Church is a historic church building in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It was organized on January 7, 1828, by thirteen men who elected the first vestry that night. In the first year, the vestry hired the architect William Nichols to design the building and oversee its construction. The building was added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage on July 28, 1975.

The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater is an outdoor amphitheater in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA that is used primarily for music performances. It has a seating capacity of 7,470.The amphitheater is located on Jack Warner Parkway, just beside the Hugh R. Thomas Bridge, only minutes away from the University of Alabama campus and blocks from downtown Tuscaloosa. It is the largest outdoor theater in West Alabama.

The Alabama Stage and Screen Hall of Fame was founded in 1998 for the purpose of honoring Alabamians who have made significant contributions to film, television or theatre. The organization is sponsored jointly by Theatre Tuscaloosa and Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
