The Northkill Amish Settlement was established in 1740 in Berks County, Pennsylvania. As the first identifiable Amish community in the new world, it was the foundation of Amish settlement in the Americas. By the 1780s it had become the largest Amish settlement, but declined as families moved elsewhere.

Roadside America was an indoor miniature village and railway covering 8,000 square feet (740 m2). Created by Laurence Gieringer in 1935, it was first displayed to the public in his Hamburg, Pennsylvania, home. The miniature village's popularity increased after stories were published about it in local newspapers, which prompted Gieringer to move it to a recently-closed local amusement park called Carsonia Park. This location, which supported more visitors, was open from 1938 to about 1940. To accommodate growing interest and build a larger display, Geringer then purchased land at what would be the miniature village's final location, a former dance hall in Shartlesville, Pennsylvania off of Interstate 78, approximately 20 mi (32 km) west of the Lehigh Valley, where the display reopened in 1953.After being closed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Roadside America announced on November 21, 2020, that they were closing permanently after trying, unsuccessfully, to find a buyer for the past three years, and that they would be auctioning off the display.

Seyfert Mill is a historic grist mill located in Upper Tulpehocken Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. The combined mill and house building was built in 1840, and is a 2 1/2-story, with basement, banked stone building. It measures 48 by 50 feet (15 by 15 m). Also on the property are the contributing millrace and pond. The mill ceased operation in about 1954.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Shartlesville is a census-designated place that is located in Upper Bern Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 455 residents.

Fort Northkill was a fort in colonial Pennsylvania, built to protect settlers from attacks by French-allied Native Americans during the French and Indian War.: 378–79  Although the fort was garrisoned by Pennsylvania militia, they were unable to prevent continued attacks on local farmsteads, but the fort did provide some protection for the settlers themselves. The fort appears to have been abandoned in September 1757, but the exact date is unknown.

The Kauffman Mill, also known as Spengler Mill, is an historic, American grist mill that is located in Upper Bern Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Strausstown is a census-designated place and former borough located in Upper Tulpehocken Township in Berks County, Pennsylvania. The population was 342 at the 2010 census.

New Schaefferstown is a census-designated place in Jefferson Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. It is located five miles to the west of Bernville. As of the 2010 census, the population was 223 residents.

Jalappa is a village in Tilden Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located on Old Route 22 (also known as the Hex Highway), less than one mile south of Interstate 78. Access to 78 is from Hamburg and Shartlesville. The Mill Creek flows eastward through the village to the Schuylkill River. The village uses the Hamburg ZIP code of 19526.

Bernville (Pennsylvania Dutch: Bannwill) is a borough in Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 955 at the 2010 census. Bernville is bordered by Penn Township to the north, east, and south and by Jefferson Township to the west. It is believed by few that the borough would have been a county seat of a small county called Tulpehocken County. However, no official sources can be found.
