Burke is an unincorporated section of Fairfax County, Virginia, United States, traditionally defined as the area served by the Burke post office (Zip Code 22015). Burke includes two census-designated places: the Burke CDP, population 42,312 in 2020 and the Burke Centre CDP, population 17,518 in 2020.

Virginia's 11th congressional district is a U.S. congressional district in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Situated in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C., the district comprises most of Fairfax County and the entirety of Fairfax City. The district is represented by Democrat Gerry Connolly. The Hill newspaper quotes census data to conclude that Virginia's 11th district was the wealthiest congressional district in the nation from 2003 to 2013. The article attributed the wealth to the many lobbyists and two-career couples in Northern Virginia.The district last existed in what is now West Virginia's 1st district and was held by Jacob B. Blair before the events of the U.S. Civil War. Virginia did not have an 11th district until it was re-created after the 1990 United States census from portions of the old 8th and 10th districts because of explosive growth in Northern Virginia. It was intended to be a "fair fight" district; indeed, it encompassed most of the more Democratic portions of the old 10th district and the more Republican portions of the old 8th district. George W. Bush only narrowly defeated John Kerry here in 2004, while Democratic Governor Tim Kaine and Democratic Senator Jim Webb both carried this district, in 2005 and 2006 respectively. In 2008, Barack Obama won this district over Republican Senator John McCain. Democrat Leslie L. Byrne briefly held the seat for the first election cycle of the new district, but was quickly defeated in 1994 by Republican Tom Davis. Davis established a secure hold on the district during his tenure (1995–2008), but Democrat Gerald Connolly won it when Davis stepped down. Both Davis and Connolly may have been aided by their previous service on the Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, where most of the 11th district's population is concentrated. 61.5% of 11th congressional district residents live in Fairfax County. The results of the 2010 United States census showed this district's population continued to grow, and due to redistricting covered more urban areas in Northern Virginia to favor the incumbent, Connolly.

Lake Braddock is a reservoir in the community of Burke in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. Lake Braddock is created by an impoundment on a tributary stream of Pohick Creek, itself a tributary of the Potomac River. In 1969, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and the Northern Virginia Soil District signed contracts which allowed the construction of the dam impounding the tributary of the Pohick creek in Burke. The $138,500 cost of the dam, intended as the first of eight to control soil erosion and flooding in the Pohick watershed, was split between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Yeonas Development Corporation, the latter of which intended to build a 1000-unit development on the surrounding 400 acres.The ultimate cost of the dam creating the 19-acre lake was $93,000 to the U.S. Government and $104,000 to Yeonas.The fact that the lake included no public recreation facilities despite being financed with public money was the subject of controversy, and led to the amendment of the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act in 1972 to require public access to all such facilities constructed in the future.

Ekoji (恵光寺, Ekō-ji) is a temple of the Jōdo Shinshū Hongwanji-ha Japanese Buddhist sect in Fairfax Station, Virginia, near Washington, D.C. It is a member of the Buddhist Churches of America, the oldest Buddhist organization in the mainland United States. Ekoji (literally in Japanese, "Temple of the Gift of Light") was founded in 1981; its initial location was an office condominium building located in Springfield, Virginia, and a larger temple was constructed in Fairfax Station, Virginia, in 1998. The temple was established through the beneficial efforts of the late Rev. Kenryu Tsuji (1919-2004), the former Bishop of the Buddhist Churches of America, and the late Rev. Dr. Yehan Numata, a Japanese businessman and devout Jodo Shinshu Buddhist. He also established the Bukkyo Dendo Kyokai ("Society for the Promotion of Buddhism") to help spread Buddhism throughout the world. Reverend Nariaki Hayashi became the full-time resident minister in 2016. However, as of 2022, he has left to be the minister of the Tri-State Denver Buddhist Temple. As of 2023, Ekoji has a chapter of the Young Buddhist Association. The temple serves as the headquarters for the taiko drumming ensemble Nen Daiko.There are several Ekoji Temples in Japan, as well as in Düsseldorf, Germany and Mexico City.

Rolling Road station is a Virginia Railway Express station in Burke, Virginia. The station is served by the Virginia Railway Express Manassas Line on weekdays, except for two inbound and one outbound train each day. VRE shares the right-of-way with Amtrak's Cardinal and Crescent trains; however, no Amtrak trains stop here. The station platform will be expanded an extra 300 feet (91 m). The existing platform can only accommodate five car trains. Long trains are unable to open all doors during boarding. A contractor was selected for this work in October 2020 and work began in early 2021.

Lake Braddock Secondary School (LBSS) in Burke, Virginia, United States, administered by Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), is one of three 7-12 secondary schools in Fairfax County; the other two are Hayfield SS and Robinson SS. Lake Braddock opened in 1973. Its mascot is a bruin, and the school colors are purple and gold.

South Run is a census-designated place in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. The population as of the 2010 census was 6,389.

Burke Centre is a planned residential community located west of Burke in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. Burke Centre is a planned community managed by the Burke Centre Conservancy homeowners' association (HOA). Burke Centre is also the name of a census-designated place (CDP). The CDP boundaries extend beyond the planned community limits. As of the 2010 census, the Burke Centre CDP had a total population of 17,326.Burke Centre is located south of the center of Fairfax County. It is bordered to the east and partially to the north by the Burke CDP, and to the west and north by the Fairfax Station CDP. The Burke Centre CDP border follows Ox Road to the west, the VRE Manassas Line to the north, Burke Lake Road to the southeast, and Fairfax County Parkway to the southwest.

Burke Lake is a 218 acres (88 ha) freshwater reservoir in Fairfax Station, Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. It is contained within Burke Lake Park, a Fairfax County public park owned by the Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA). Burke Lake is formed by a dam on South Run, a tributary stream of the Potomac River. Fairfax County permits visitors to use the lake for fishing, electric-motor, and paddle/row boating. The lake has 4.5 miles (7.2 km) of fishing shoreline, three fishing bulkheads at the state game area, a fishing pier, a public & marina & public launch ramps, and a boat launching dock. Both the fishing bulkheads and the fishing pier are accessible to persons with disabilities. Swimming is prohibited. A 4.68-mile (7.53 km) trail surrounds the lake starting at the marina parking lot. In 2017, Burke opened a new 64-station lighted driving range with 24 covered and heated stations. The new amenities will accommodate practice and classes year-round at Burke Lake Golf Academy. A rentable area with indoor seating is also available for private functions and parties.Burke Lake is owned by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (VDGIF).

Burke Lake Park is a public park located in Fairfax Station, Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. It encompasses Burke Lake. The Fairfax County public park is owned by the Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA). It was built on land that was purchased by the federal government in the 1950s for an international airport, before the site of Dulles Airport was chosen as a replacement.

Burke Centre station is a railway station in Burke Centre, Burke, Fairfax County, Virginia. It is served by the Virginia Railway Express Manassas Line and a once daily Amtrak Northeast Regional round trip.

West Springfield High School is a public high school located in unincorporated Fairfax County, Virginia, at 6100 Rolling Road, and is part of the Fairfax County Public Schools system. West Springfield (often referred to as WSHS) enrolls students from grades 9–12, offers the Advanced Placement program and currently enrolls over 2,400 students. The facility has a Springfield postal address and is physically within the West Springfield census-designated place.
