Bedford Hills station is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, located in Bedford, New York. It is located next to the downtown business district, which was developed around the station. When the New York and Harlem Railroad was built though the community in 1847, Bedford Hills was known as Bedford Station. This name stood until 1910. The former station, influenced by the design cues of Henry Hobson Richardson and built by the New York Central Railroad in the late-19th century, stands aside the current one and, unusually for surviving NYC stations along the Harlem Line, still has its sign. But like many others, it has found new life as a home for local businesses.

Two New York State prisons for women, Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women and Taconic Correctional Facility, are located in the hamlet.

Montefiore Home Country Sanitarium was an American sanatorium located in Bedford Hills, Westchester County, New York. Opened in September 1897, it was under the same management as the Montefiore Home for Chronic Invalids at Manhattan, New York. The country sanitarium was situated in a sheltered situation on the Berkshire Hills, at an elevation of about 450 feet (140 m), and was 60 miles (97 km) from New York City or one and a half hours by rail.

Katonah Village Historic District is a national historic district located at Katonah, Westchester County, New York. The district contains 38 contributing buildings developed between 1895 and 1928 in "New Katonah." It is primarily residential, but also includes three churches and two combination residential-professional office space buildings. The street pattern was designed by the Olmsted Brothers and there are representative buildings in the Queen Anne and Late Victorian styles.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Katonah is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) within the town of Bedford, Westchester County, in the U.S. state of New York. The Katonah CDP had a population of 1,603 at the 2020 census.

As is the case with Brewster, Katonah is not far from the Connecticut border and sees a sizeable number of commuters from Ridgefield using Katonah for commuting as opposed to the Danbury Branch of the New Haven Line given that Katonah gives a faster, direct trip to Grand Central. Similarly, Housatonic Area Regional Transit has a shuttle connecting Ridgefield to Katonah station during peak hours which also connects to Bee-Line Route 19 to Ossining. The station was also formerly known as Mechanicsville.

Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women, a women's prison in the town of Bedford, New York, is the largest New York State women's prison. The prison previously opened under the name Westfield State Farm in 1901. It lies just outside the hamlet and census-designated place Bedford Hills, New York.

The Cross River is a short river that rises within the hamlet of Cross River in the town of Lewisboro in southern New York state. Its headwaters make a loop, heading S, then SW, then NW, and finally West. It continues a few miles in that direction until it joins a tendril of the Cross River Reservoir, a part of the New York City water supply system. A part of both the Croton River watershed and the system's Croton Watershed, it flows out of the reservoir's spillway then joins the Croton River in Katonah. The short stretch of river that begins at the spillway outlet and continues on to the river's entry into the Muscoot Reservoir is an early spring trout fishery.

Taconic Correctional Facility is a medium/minimum security women's prison in Bedford, New York operated by the New York State DOCCS. Although the prison has a maximum 387-person capacity, the incarcerated population was under 170 as of November, 2021.

The Muscoot Reservoir is a reservoir in the New York City water supply system in northern Westchester County, New York, located directly north of the village of Katonah. Part of the system's Croton Watershed, it is 25 miles (40 kilometres) north of the City.

The Richard H. Mandel House is a historic home located at Bedford Hills, Westchester County, New York. It was designed by architect Edward Durell Stone and built between 1933 and 1935 in the International style. It is a "Z"-shaped building sited overlooking the Croton Reservoir. It is a two-story, concrete block, steel frame, and stucco building with a partial basement recessed into the sloping site. Located on a lot of 21 acres, the house is almost 10,000 square feet with 7 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. It features a flat roof, smooth and uniform wall surfaces, lack of applied ornament, asymmetrical composition with an emphasis on horizontality, and projecting balconies and wide expanses of ribbon windows. The original owner was Richard Mandel (1907–1976), a member of the Mandel Brothers department store family of Chicago.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
