Alameda Park

Originating as a birthday celebration, Santa Barbara, California's Summer Solstice Parade began in 1974. This parade was created by Michael Gonzalez, a Santa Barbara resident and a mime and artist. The parade is the largest single-day event in Santa Barbara County, attracting crowds of 100,000 people or more. Weeks prior to the day of the parade, a workshop is opened where participating artists and technicians work with the community to conceive ideas, build floats, make costumes, and put their performances together.

Alice Keck Park Memorial Garden is a park located in Santa Barbara, California. It consists of one entire city block, bounded by Santa Barbara, Micheltorena, Garden and Arrellaga Streets. It is across Santa Barbara Street from the Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara, and across Micheltorena Street from Alameda Park.The property, formerly the site of artist Albert Herter's El Mirasol Hotel (demolished 1960s), was purchased and donated to the city in 1975. The anonymous gift included funds for the land's conversion into gardens, and an endowment for their maintenance. The donor's identity remained a mystery until her death, two years later, when it was revealed to have been Alice Keck Park (1918–1977). Park was the daughter of William Myron Keck, the founder of Superior Oil Company. Park had a family connection to the Herters and the site – W. M. Keck's sister Caroline (Alice's aunt) had been the widow of Herter's son Everit, who died in World War I. The City dedicated the gardens in 1980, and named them in Park's honor. The garden features a man-made pond stocked with turtles and koi, as well as a gazebo and many meandering walkways and paths. All the plants in the garden, some native and some ornamental, are chosen specifically to be tolerant of the low-water nature of the Santa Barbara climate. In addition, there is an area regarded as a sensory garden for the visually impaired. The Arbor Area of Alice Keck Park Memorial Garden is a popular venue for weddings. It is beautifully maintained and also public property, making it one of the best valued, budget-conscious wedding venues in Santa Barbara.

Our Lady of Sorrows Church (Spanish: Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores) is a Catholic church within the City of Santa Barbara, California in the United States that was built in 1929. The Church was listed as a designated landmark of the City of Santa Barbara on May 17, 2016. It is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows.

The Santa Barbara Public Library is the public library system of Santa Barbara, California. The Santa Barbara Public Library is the main library in Santa Barbara. It contains 290,086 volumes. In fiscal year 2017 the library system circulated 1,888,710 items to approximately 235,577 residents. The library's current director is Jessica Cadiente, who has held her position since 2016. There are branch libraries in Montecito and on the Eastside of Santa Barbara. The Faulkner Memorial Art Gallery, and Faulkner East and West Galleries, are also located within the library building. The original building was designed by local architect Francis W. Wilson, based on sketches by Henry Hornbostel of Pittsburgh, and opened on August 27, 1917, with Frances Burns Linn as head librarian. Carleton Winslow directed the 1925 reconstruction (following the 1925 Santa Barbara earthquake) and designed the tympanum over the main entry. The Faulkner Memorial Art Gallery was designed by Myron Hunt and opened on October 15, 1930. In 1979-1980 the library was remodeled and expanded under the direction of Jerry Zimmer. The Santa Barbara Public Library is located in the center of the city of Santa Barbara, between Anacapa and State Streets, opposite to the Santa Barbara County Courthouse building and adjacent to the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.

The Santa Barbara County Courthouse is a Spanish Colonial Revival style building designed by William Mooser III and completed in 1929. Architect Charles Willard Moore called it the "grandest Spanish Colonial Revival structure ever built," and the prime example of Santa Barbara's adoption of Spanish Colonial as its civic style.Located at 1100 Anacapa Street, in downtown Santa Barbara, California. the building replaced a smaller Greek Revival courthouse built there in 1872–88 and badly damaged in an earthquake on June 29, 1925. The complex was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2005 for its architecture.

The Karpeles Manuscript Library Museums is one of the largest private collections of historic manuscripts and documents in the world. It was founded in 1983 by California real estate magnates David Karpeles and Marsha Karpeles, with the goal of stimulating interest in learning, especially in children, and to make the collection more accessible, is distributed among many Karpeles museums across the US, each located in a historic building, plus "mini-museums" in schools and office buildings. Items are rotated between museums quarterly, and each of the museums presents a daily general exhibit and one or more special scheduled exhibits throughout the year. In addition, Karpeles is aggressively expanding the content of its website. All of the Karpeles Manuscript Library services are free. The museums are located in small and midsize cities, although the Karpeles family put on an exhibit in Central Park West in New York City in 1991. As of June 2023, there are ten museums.David Karpeles died on January, 19, 2022.

The Janssens–Orella–Birk Building, also known as Janssens–Orella Building, was built in 1927 and considerably remodelled in 1937 and later in 1941. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The building is located on State Street, in the historical center of Santa Barbara, California.

The Hill–Carrillo Adobe, also known as Carrillo Adobe is a historic structure in Santa Barbara, California. Built in 1825 and 1826, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It is also registered as a California Historical Landmark site (#721) as well.It is a U-shaped building consisting of original rectangular 1825–1826 section that faces the street and two wings added in the 1900s. It was built by Daniel Hill, originally from Billerica, Massachusetts.

The Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District (MTD) is a public transit agency providing bus service in the southern portion of Santa Barbara County, California. It serves the cities of Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, and Goleta as well as the unincorporated areas of Montecito, Summerland, and Isla Vista. In 2022, the system had a ridership of 4,400,500, or about 15,900 per weekday as of the second quarter of 2023.
