Luk Keng Village or Luk Keng Tsuen (Chinese: 鹿頸村) is a village located on the Yam O peninsula on Lantau Island in the New Territories of Hong Kong, which links to Cheung Sok, a nearby uninhabited island, via a sandbank. From the Luk Keng Pier there a kai-to transportation service to Tsing Lung Tau in Tsuen Wan. Although nearby areas including Sunny Bay station have been developed, Luk Keng Village is still preserved as an undeveloped rural heritage area.

Luk Keng Pier (Chinese: 鹿頸碼頭) is a small public pier adjoining Luk Keng Village, Yam O, Lantau Island, Hong Kong. There is only a kai-to ferry route to and from Tsing Lung Tau in Tsuen Wan for villagers to travel to the urban area. This closed transportation relationship between Yam O and Tsing Lung Tau explains why Northeast Lantau is part of the Tsuen Wan District, instead of the Islands District. It was the only public transportation for Luk Keng Village and the whole of Yam O before Sunny Bay station on the MTR opened.

Yam O (Chinese: 陰澳) is a bay located on the northeast shore of Lantau Island, in the New Territories of Hong Kong. It is part of the Ma Wan constituency of the Tsuen Wan District Council. Yam O was the only natural lumber preservation zone in Hong Kong. Even today, travellers passing through Yam O can see natural lumber on stilts in the bay. Today, Yam O is known for its interchange for the Disneyland Resort line via the nearby Sunny Bay MTR station, built on reclaimed land near Yam O.

Sunny Bay (Chinese: 欣澳; Cantonese Yale: Yān ou) is an MTR station in Yam O. It is between Tung Chung and Tsing Yi stations. The station is an interchange station between the Tung Chung line and the Disneyland Resort line to Hong Kong Disneyland. The station was originally to be named Yam O (欣澳). Yam O was not used probably because of its ominous connotations (Cantonese Yam is more commonly known to English speakers as Mandarin yin, which means darkness or a negative quality. Yam O is yin since it is at the north side of a mountain). The station was the first MTR station to have automatic platform gates (APG) installed on the edge of its platforms. These gates range from 1⁄2 to 3⁄4 the height of the platform screen doors found in other MTR stations. In line with ground level and above-ground MTR stations, Sunny Bay and Disneyland Resort station are not air conditioned, and rely on their open architecture to keep the temperature low. Services to the station commenced on 1 June 2005. The transfer facilities to the Disneyland Resort line opened on 1 August that year. The livery of the station is slate grey. Platforms 1 (Tung Chung line towards Tung Chung) and 3 (Disneyland Resort line) are located opposite to each other to allow easy interchange of trains for passengers travelling from the urban areas. Architecture firm Aedas was the architect for the Disneyland Resort line and the architect for the Sunny Bay and Disneyland Resort stations.The station is primarily used by tourists travelling to Hong Kong Disneyland who use the station to interchange from the Tung Chung line onto the Disneyland Resort line, but also provides bus transport links to the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge and Discovery Bay. The Airport Express passes through the centre of the station without stopping. This station features emergency platforms for the Airport Express.

Ta Shui Wan (Chinese: 打水灣) was a bay in Yam O, Lantau Island, New Territories, Hong Kong, located between Tai Yam Teng (大陰頂) and Ngong Shuen Au (昂船凹). The bay was reclaimed to construct MTR Sunny Bay station. Ta Shui Wan Ferry Pier (打水灣碼頭) was a ferry pier in Ta Shui Wan that provided ferry service to Tsing Lung Tau, Tsuen Wan. It was demolished as part of the land reclamation works.The reclaimed land was renamed Sunny Bay (欣澳) under the requirement of the Walt Disney Company, the operator of Hong Kong Disneyland. Thus, the MTR station that was built there was called Sunny Bay station to fit the name change. Hong Kong International Airport is located a couple of kilometers away, to the west.

Ta Pang Po (Chinese: 打棚埔) is a village located on the Tsing Chau Tsai Peninsula of Lantau Island, in the Tsuen Wan District of Hong Kong.

Penny's Bay Highway (Chinese: 竹篙灣公路; Cantonese Yale: juk1 gou1 waan1 gung1 lou6) is a section of expressway on Lantau Island in Hong Kong. The road links North Lantau Highway to Hong Kong Disneyland Resort in Penny's Bay. It is approximately 1.5 km, starting from the North Lantau Highway's junction in Yam O and ending at Penny's Bay to link with Magic Road (to Hong Kong Disneyland Resort) and Sunny Bay Road (to Yam O). The road was opened in 2005 to connect Hong Kong Disneyland, which opened in the same year, to the rest of Hong Kong via the Hong Kong Strategic Route and Exit Number System. From the north terminus at North Lantau Highway, it passes parallel to Sunny Bay Road through a valley before reaching its southern terminus, a roundabout intersecting with Sunny Bay Road and Magic Road.

Tai Tsing Chau (Chinese: 大青洲) is a village located on the Tsing Chau Tsai Peninsula of Lantau Island, in the Tsuen Wan District of Hong Kong.

The Inspiration Lake (Chinese: 迪欣湖), officially known as The Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre (Chinese: 迪欣湖活動中心), is a 12-hectare artificial lake located in Penny's Bay, Lantau Island, New Territories, Hong Kong. The lake, opened on 16 August 2005, was created as part of the development of adjacent Hong Kong Disneyland Resort as a dual-purpose project for recreation and an irrigation reservoir. Inspiration Lake was built by the Hong Kong Government and managed by the Hong Kong International Theme Parks. It opens daily from 09:00 - 19:00; entrance is free.

Penny's Bay or Chok Ko Wan (Chinese: 竹篙灣) was a bay in north-eastern Lantau Island, and had been a port since the Ming dynasty. The bay has since been reclaimed and is the site of the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, which consists of the Hong Kong Disneyland theme park, Disneyland Hotel, and Disney's Hollywood Hotel, and the Inspiration Lake. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it became home to Penny's Bay Quarantine Centre. It is connected by a highway and a rail connection on the MTR Disneyland Resort line to Sunny Bay station. Penny's Bay is located in Tsuen Wan District, but a small southern portion falls in Islands District.

Penny's Bay Power Station (Chinese: 竹篙灣燃氣輪機發電廠) is a gas turbine power station in Penny's Bay, Hong Kong. The HKD 1.1 billion power station was commissioned on 25 March 1992. The complex consists of three open cycle gas turbines in a rectangular turbine hall with three smokestacks. The turbines were supplied by John Brown Engineering and generators by GEC-Alsthom. It is operated by CLP Power as a standby and peaking power station. The power plant can start up in 12 minutes. Its primary fuel is ultra low sulphur diesel (ULSD). It is located at Penny's Bay on Lantau Island and its nameplate capacity is 300MW. The plant serves as a backup facility providing quick start support to CLP Power's generating system. The plant attained a thermal efficiency between 10.1% to 23.3% from 2012 to 2016.Power from the station is delivered by CLP's 132kV transmission network and through submarine cables to customers outside Lantau Island.

The New Territories West geographical constituency was one of the geographical constituencies in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong from 1998 to 2021. It was established in 1998 for the first SAR Legislative Council election and was abolished under the 2021 overhaul of the Hong Kong electoral system. Located in the western part of the New Territories, it was the largest geographical constituency in Hong Kong with 1,308,081 electorates in 2020. It consisted of Tsuen Wan District, Kwai Tsing District, Tuen Mun District, Yuen Long District and Islands District. In the 2016 Legislative Council election, it elected nine members of the Legislative Council using the Hare quota of party-list proportional representation.
