The Cestas Solar Park is a 300 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic power station in Cestas, France. Built by Eiffage and Schneider Electric for the developer, Neoen, it opened on December 1, 2015. When it opened on 1 December 2015, Cestas Solar Park was the largest solar photovoltaic power station in Europe . Located in Cestas, to the south of Bordeaux, it spans 260 hectares (640 acres) and produces 300 MWp.

CEA/Cesta or simply Cesta (French: Centre d'études scientifiques et techniques d'Aquitaine; English: Center for scientific and technical study of Aquitaine) is a French research facility (CEA, Direction of Military Applications) dedicated to the design of nuclear weapons. The center was established in 1965 on the commune of Le Barp between Bordeaux and Arcachon. The center hosts the Megajoule laser (LMJ), which should enable French nuclear scientists to validate models of nuclear explosion without having to conduct nuclear testing. The LMJ is the French equivalent of the National Ignition Facility.

Laser Mégajoule (LMJ) is a large laser-based inertial confinement fusion (ICF) research device near Bordeaux, France, built by the French nuclear science directorate, Commissariat à l'Énergie Atomique (CEA). Laser Mégajoule plans to deliver over 1 MJ of laser energy to its targets, compressing them to about 100 times the density of lead. It is about half as energetic as its US counterpart, the National Ignition Facility (NIF). Laser Mégajoule is the largest ICF experiment outside the US. Laser Mégajoule's primary task will be refining fusion calculations for France's own nuclear weapons. A portion of the system's time is set aside for materials science experiments. Construction of the LMJ took 15 years and cost 3 billion euros. It was declared operational on 23 October 2014, when it ran its first set of nuclear-weapon-related experiments.

France Alouette tram stop is the terminus of the Pessac Alouette branch of line B of the Bordeaux tramway, and is located in the commune of Pessac. The stop was inaugurated in April 2015, when a second branch of line B was opened from Bougnard to France Alouette. The stop is operated by Transports Bordeaux Métropole.For most of the day on Mondays to Fridays, trams run at least every ten minutes between France Alouette and Bordeaux city centre. Services run less frequently in the early morning, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.
